We are greeted with friendly and welcoming staff, we came with a large group of about 30 plus people. The staff- Debi, Sharon, Greg, Gene, Michelle, Petra, Angela and Kim always make my stay great. This is my home away from home. If you must stay in the Dumfries, VA area, I would check this place out as your first choice. An exceptional hotel with an exceptional staff!! 07 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Female Food Server The staff at the front desk were excellent, however, the female that was in the dining room the morning I left was very rude and did not provide me with good customer service. I had asked for a ceramic cup for my coffee to take to my room and the male server said sure help yourself and pointed at the table, which I picked one up. Then the Female server/waitress said no don't touch those, the male said, "why?" , and she said because that is for the table and there is not enough. She then went in the back and sent him back out with a ceramic cup, which was exactly the same. I can't imagine that IHG would only have a certain amount of ceramic cups? Could that be? What would IHG do if they had dirty cups and had to reset another table? This action was so inappropriate and appeared to be personal in nature to me whom she did not know. It was rude and unwelcoming to me as a guest. I would find it more appropriate if she just let me take my cup and then "she" can replace the cup to the table. Instead she made me wait there for several minutes to get the exact same cup. This is unacceptable behavior, please correct this and make sure it does not happen again, I am posting for others who can not take the time to post these small incidents. Please note that all the rest of the staff, front desk and the other male restuarant server/waiter were very professional. 07 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe and secure Visiting our grand-daughter who just moved to the area due to the marriage to a Marine stationed in Triangle. Found the Holiday Inn in Dumfries comfortable and safe. A little trouble spotting the hotel from the turn off from I 95, maybe better sign for older people to see especially at night. 01 October 2014

The restaurant staff: Pia, Brenda, Kim, Jonathan, Anthony, and Kennedy were great! Pia, Brenda, and Kim always had my breakfast order to memory and it was served hot and fresh just after I sat down.
