Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Business traveler requiring internet beware Short and sweet: friendly and professional staff. Consistently good breakfast. The lunch and dinner offerings are a bit over priced. The room was clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. The bad: the internet is borderline unusable. The consistently slow internet made for a frustrating experience. As a rewards member, I was using the complimentary internet service, which only allowed two devices to be connected. A co-worker on the trip was unable to connect his Samsung Galaxy Note 5 mobile phone to the hotel's network at all during our two week stay. If you require a reliable internet connection at your hotel, then I cannot recommend this hotel. The speed is somewhere between dial up and a bad satellite internet connection. I can only assume that the complimentary internet is throttled on purpose in order to force people into paying for the "high speed" internet. It's a shame to leave a review like this for a hotel that does so many things right. I work for a software company, and for me, a decently fast/reliable internet connection is a requirement when I travel. October 6, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over priced and in need of an refurbishment This hotel is dreadfully overpriced and the guest rooms are in dire need of a refurbishment. I was apparently ungraded to an executive room. If that's an executive room I dread to think what the standard rooms are like. The toilet seat was broken, the bed was low and mattress was lumpy & had seen better days. There were no hand towels the 1st day & over all it was just an old, tired and sad room. I've not mentioned the hike from reception to the room as there isn't much a hotel can do about that, however I do specifically ask for rooms close to reception....that seemed to have been lost. I had room service the 1st day and ate in the bar the 2nd day. it was average chain hotel food, nothing special & over priced for what it is. Staff were polite but again nothing special & perhaps if there were a few more of them they would have more time to engage with guests. Coming to price....for the standard of this hotel it was very very over priced. Its charging 4* prices for a 2* quality. If the hotel was refurbished & offered a higher service you can charge the price you charge a night for a corporate guest, but as the local budget hotel rooms are of a much higher quality and 50% cheaper, this hotel needs to take a serious look at itself. I stay here because its near to work, If I had any alternative would take it as it is one of the Holiday Inns I've stay at recently. October 4, 2015

The staff was very friendly and were very responsive to my needs. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast staff. I would be glad to stay here in the future. September 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed Accommodation/room was very poor. 1. First night after checking in we went to our room to unpack, the room was stuffy tried turning on the Air conditioning but it did not work. The sofa bed which my two children were to sleep on was so uncomfortable that they slept on the floor, I complained to the hotel manager the following morning but nothing was done. 2. Second night same again children slept on the floor. Following morning I spoke to the manager again thinking that he would offer us an alternative room, but this did not happen. We decided to go home and cut our break short, even though we had paid for 3 nights accommodation. 3. I would not stay or recommend this hotel. Overall a very disappointing experience. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Make This Hotel I stay at Holiday Inn hotels quite regularly and they are all very good, however, due to a work course I have stayed at Farnborough twice recently both for two nights. The staff are excellent; yes, a few errors have been made due to inexperience but this is more than made up for by enthusiasm and politeness. Being alone, the staff ensured they made time for me when I needed to chat and left me alone when I didn't. Several staff acknowledged they had seen me before and their welcoming smile made me feel special. The only disappointment, this time, was my bedroom. I didn't mind it being at the furthest point possible from reception, as this meant I walked off my excellent breakfast and dinner without having to go to the gym but the bathroom sink desperately needed replacing and hadn't been cleaned properly (probably due to the many cracks in it!) The rest of the bathroom and bedroom were spotless. I look forward to going back to Farnborough, hopefully soon. September 21, 2015
