Used hotel for 1 night before flying on holiday:
-Very close to airport
-Parking company affiliated with hotel were very close
-Quick check in and out
-Friendly staff on check in desk
-Very quiet considering close proximity to airport
-Free upgrade to executive room however, I think the only difference is that it is a slightly bigger room.
-Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. It was so hard it was comparable to sleeping on the floor - £35 a night room at another hotel (10 min drive away) was comfier when staying Sep 2014. Again, pillows were uncomfortable and very lumpy and there was no noticeable difference between hard and soft pillows that were offered.
-I feel for Holiday Inn (which I have always been under the impression are a 'higher end' brand) this was disappointing and I could have paid less to stay at a different hotel with a similar experience. Although the parking was included in the total rate, the cost of another hotel plus parking would have been cheaper.
-Rooms were clean however, decor and bathroom were a little worn and not reflective of the 'executive room' upgrade we were given.
Unless the price was lower, I don't think we would stay here again as a good night's sleep is the main aim the night before a long haul flight. We would rather travel 10 mins in taxi to airport after a great night's sleep than walk across to the airport with back ache, unrefreshed and tired. If the beds were replaced, we would potentially stay here again but would probably look for feedback before trying.
