At check in, there was a line of 4 ahead of us while 2 others were being helped. It took over 20 minutes to check in because of the problems (I guess??) the 2 at the desk where having. One of the groups ahead of us in line (2 people) were checking in while about 6 or so others walked in and said "we are with them" and were also checked in, rather than having to stand in line. We were next in line when the person at the desk called over 2 others not standing in line (standing to the side) to help them ahead of us. The rate was high for the weekend (I have paid much less at this hotel), but decided to include breakfast to save time. It's an awful breakfast. Food quality was horrible. Eggs were inedible and we ended up going outside the hotel for breakfast even though I paid an increased rate to include breakfast. We have family in the area and stay at the hotel when we are in town, but I think we have stayed at this hotel for the last time. Although it's more inconvenient, we will stay in Libertyville, Deerfield or Lincolnshire. These aren't the first issues we've had at this hotel...it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Hotel seems newly renovated inside. Common area is nice. Rooms are what you'd expect from Holiday Inn. The staff was friendly enough and helpful when I had questions. Didn't use the pool or fitness center so can't really comment on that. Overall good experience.

A group of us stayed at the Gurnee Convention Center for a Tough Mudder event. We were very dirty and muddy after the race and tried to hurry back to the hotel before check out to get a shower before making the three hour trip back home. We arrived back to the hotel right when we were supposed to check out. I asked a gentleman at the front desk if he would please extend our check out one more hour so we could all shower. He was gracious enough to allow it. We were all so thankful. Thank you!
