Dusseldorf is located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and is the capital of this region. We have nine Dusseldorf family hotels in the city.
Dusseldorf is a beautiful city with a number of landmarks attracting tourists. Perhaps the most obvious of its landmarks is the Rhine Tower. This is a 790 foot telecoms tower with an observatory deck at the top, allowing visitors phenomenal views across the city. On a walk around the city, you can also take in the impressive Grone Jong Fountain and the breathtaking Johanneskirche church building.
There are 13 museums in the city catering to people of all ages and tastes. The Loebbecke Museum and Aquazoo will be a hit with the children and the Neanderthal Museum is fascinating.
There are treats in store for shoppers here too. Königsallee is a street in the city that is widely considered to be the most exclusive in Germany. Here, you’ll find boutiques and exclusive designer brands, ideal for a bit of indulgence. For more mainstream brands, on the other hand, Schadowstrasse is what you’re looking for.
Dusseldorf is home to the Esprit Arena football stadium, where Fortuna Düsseldorf play their home football games. There’s also a professional basketball team, called the Gloria Giants.
You can take a direct flight to Dusseldorf from many UK cities including London, Manchester and Leeds. Germany’s rail system connects the city with Berlin, Bonn, Cologne and other German cities and you can also travel here by rail from a host of other European locations.
