Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Executive Suites Are Not Worth It Don't pay anything extra to upgrade to the "better" executive rooms. They are an average size room in any other hotel. No amenities mixed with unsatisfactory rooms made for a dull experience. I stayed in 3 different rooms over 3 nights. They were all overpriced and uncomfortable. This is the worst Holiday Inn that I've encountered. 19 January 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Aging Hotel with Few Reasons to Stay Because it is the only chain hotel in High Wycombe it is packed with business travelers who fill the lobby with laptops. It's difficult to find a place to sit in the lobby. There are no amenities to the property, other than a cinema nearby. Overall, it's an uncomfortable hotel that could use a refurbishment. 19 January 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn High Wycombe To repeat the comments made earlier in your rather lengthy survey/review:We liked the hotel on a previous visit and happily booked an Executive room for 2 people which was paid some days before arrival. The receptionist directed us to our room via a route that turned out to be more than twice the shortest route available. When eventually reaching the room and having unpacked the suitcase we noticed there was only one gown, no slippers and a last tissue hanging out of the dispenser. On our way out to meet up with friends for dinner we mentioned these concerns to the receptionist; she and another man (? the Manager) assured us that the problems would be corrected. On our return at about 10.30pm we reached the room , via the shorter route, to discover a second gown had been delivered but still no slippers or tissues. A call to reception gave a swift delivery of coffee table napkin tissues and comment, no apology, that there were no proper tissues or slippers available. Finally, as a registered disabled person, the walk-in shower originally requested was not available which caused some difficulty. There did seem to be a problem with the basic tenets of management and responsibility when looking after guests! 17 January 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Hotel With Problems Our overall feeling was that this is a hotel with staff who manage to remain friendly, courteous and helpful, but mostly apologetic, for all the issues that seem to be outside their control. These ranged from menus with numerous dishes that are not available, heating systems that don't work properly, to even running out of toilet rolls and tissues. Very surprising for an international chain of hotels, more like an independent hotel with poor management. 10 January 2015
