Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Unexpected construction No warning that the hotel would be under construction. While the staff were really lovely, it was an uncomfortable stay for people in town for medical reasons. Noise and smells and dust all day. Toilet in 908 didn't work, and after two days of hotel plumbers trying to fix it, we had to move rooms. In new room, 924, there was no running water at one point, again without warning. Bathroom nightlight didn't work, and shower temperature adjustment was almost impossible to turn. I think rooms had just been refitted, so ours was fine, beds comfortable, internet was okay except disconnected at printer desk in front hall. I had made this reservation way in advance, and am angry that I wasn't contacted when construction was scheduled, to give me the option to stay at another Holiday Inn. Was told they were rushing to get it all fixed up for rodeo visitors, but that didn't help me. I think someone in management took advantage of people who couldn't easily change plans. I thought the front desk folks were amazing under pressure and standing in the cold hallway with limited technology positions. They couldn't have been nicer, but that didn't mitigate the negatives. I could recommend a stay here in future, but I wonder if they will raise prices and/or eliminate medical rate. 22 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You have to look inside not outside They are working on the outside of the hotel and the reception area so construction is going on. In the evening no construction so we had a quiet room to sleep in. Everyone was very helpful in getting us to where we needed to go. The shuttle driver was wonderful and was always glad to come pick us up. The room was very clean and comfortable. When they are done I would love to see the outside and the Reception area. 20 January 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Construction is going on....don't stay here I stay here because of its proximity to NRG stadium and HLSR business. The room was updated from what it used to be, but the construction made this hotel a mess. There was a water leak in my room and the heater did not work. Once I was relocated to a room with a working heater and no water rising from sink, due to the construction, the bed was comfortable. The service in the restaurant downstairs was equally as bad. The waitress was clueless and it took forever to get a menu and then food/drinks. The service was way below par. 20 January 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by construction I think I should have been told of the construction when making reservation, if it had been raining heavier at any point of my visit I would have been very upset, due to the fact that my wife would have had to walk in the rain to get to our vehicle.
