Absolutely horrified by this stay. I have seen bad hotels over the years, but this was the worst I have ever experienced. Really, really poor!!!

the atmosphere is very excellent in Strasbourg, but the inner furniture needs changing as some of them are very old.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Oliver76 Nicht den Standards entsprechend und verträgt eine Grundreinigung

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by adam43 a little luxury for the adventurous traveller
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Campus D'Illkirch tram stop, on line A about 20 minutes out of town. Bus 63 also takes you from the tram stop, but only runs every 25 minutes so if raining you would get wet. The walk is on quiet roads and cars will stop for you at roundabouts.
The hotel reception is on Level -1 so you have to take a lift down to check in. The staff are friendly and speak English. We stayed in a Junior Suite on the 5th floor which was very spacious. Top tip: if you collect IHG Reward Club points, you can book a Reward Night in the Junior Suite for only 15,000 points! Elite members also get 300 points gift or a drinks voucher for the bar.
The room was clean and well-managed, with a large bath and separate shower, king-sized bed and desks, sofas and chairs. There were 2 televisions. The toilet was separate and at the other end of the room from the bathroom. It was air-conditioned and quiet, with a view of the lake and science park.
We didn't get breakfast, but our drink in the garish theme bar showed us the over-the-top decor on a Hollywood theme. Service was good.
Our one complaint is we asked twice at reception for bathrobes (listed on the Holiday Inn website as a room feature) but none arrived. Other than that we had no problems.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by abdulmismail Honest staff. OK location. Missing hand-cloth
I used to study at the university opposite the Holiday Inn Illkirch and usually I stay in the city centre during my visits to Strasbourg. This was my first stay at this hotel; as it was the one selected for the specific meetings. Therefore the location is superb - but only if you have meetings in Parc d'Innovation otherwise it's a ~45 minute journey (15 minutes by foot to the tram stop and then a 25 minute journey by tram to the centre).
All in all, I was very impressed with the service at the hotel. On one occasion, I left a small bag of items I just bought valued at 250€ but the young man on reception found it and took it to my room. I appreciate that level of honesty.
I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment.
The only thing I found bizarre was for the first time (in any hotel I stayed in around the world), this hotel didn't provide small hand towels to use in the shower.
The only negatives were that the shower sprays all over the floor - but that only makes additional work for the chamber maids. The sink also takes a long time to drain which makes it awkward to shave while keeping the tap water running.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AT23 Pretty Good
Just got back from a 4 night stay at the hotel.
First impression was not very good - empty reception, and had to wait a few minutes for someone to check us in. From there, it got much better - stayed in a suite, which was huge. Nice shower and bath, and pretty clean. Only main drawback here was the (very) uncomfortable bed!
Breakfast is overpriced and pretty limited - the price would have been justified has the hotel added some more chocies to breakfast.
To sum it up, it's a good hotel, pretty close to the tram and central Strasbourg (15-20 minutes walk to the tram, or you can take your car and leave next to the tram stop - from there it's a 20 minute ride to city center).
No recognotion as a Gold member at all...
