I have used this hotel for business stays for many years but not so frequent recently. It was good to return and to find the staff were still excellent, the rooms comfortable and the hotel facilities good.
I was like a visit to an old friend!

I have stayed a few Holiday Inns this year and this was my worse experience by far. With the exception of a good check in and a receptionist who added an extra night to my stay and cancelled my reservation elsewhere, it was all below average.
Very small room, with a poor TV signal and really poor WiFI. A miniscule bathroom, with lukewarm water the first day and cold the second.
Food and service at dinner was poor I sent the "Artisan Breads" back as I felt a warmed breakfast roll and two small bits of foccacia were not acceptable. The bowl of olives with 6 whole raw garlic cloves wasn't much better. However the Lamb was pretty decent. Second night there was only a curry buffet on offer in the restaurant and this was very average, disappointed a hotel like this did not have a fully operational restaurant every night, you could order from a bar menu, but I want to eat in a restaurant not a bar.
Breakfast was just as poor, soulless food, watery coffee, cold service.
On check out the receptionist didn't bother to ask how my stay was and when I told her about my disappointment and the cold water, she didn't seem to care too much.
Unlikely to return to this hotel.
