We had a thoroughly relaxing weekend at Gagudju , we had a busy Saturday looking around Kakadu and then had the pool to come back to cool down. The staff were extremely helpful and informative and the food was excellent!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Peaceful and relaxing
We stayed at Gagudju Crocodile Hotel with no expectations after reading some negative comments posted online. What a pleasant surprise! ALL staff were pleasant and informative. The maitre di in the restaurant was polite and efficient, despite being under enormous pressure. He did his best to meet the needs of a huge mix of cultures and traveller categories; a tough task at the best of times. Our room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. People complained of the food and accommodation prices ..... it was comparable to all goods and services in the Kakadu area and the Northern Territory. We were delighted to have a comfortable bed, a refreshing pool and fresh food at the end of each day.

We expected a lot from this property given its reputation and the room cost. We found it to be outdated and in need of refurbishment.
The single chair in our room was worn and had cigarette burns in it. The common areas, stair wells and corridors were dirty. The guest laundry is filthy.
The food in the restaurant was expensive, inedible and took over an hour to arrive. Drink prices in the restaurant are double what you would expect to pay - $50 for a $15 bottle of wine.
The pool area is tired and the outdoor seating area around the 'billabong' is depressing being littered with dirty white cheap plastic chairs. This hotel could be so much more if the management made some sort of effort. The sister property at Cooinda is so much better!

The hotel is excellent, it's location is fantastic. The service was great. The staff were very lovely, kind and very helpful. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We will be back soon. The only problem is we did not enjoy meals served at the buffet.

We spent one night here in early September 2013 and enjoyed our stay immensly.
We took a family (double bed + double bed) room which provided ample facilities for our family of four.

I was immediately made to feel welcome by staff and was relived when I entered the room, it was a long drive with 3 little boys who didn't enjoy the drive!!. The room was tidy and the beds well presented. Not particularly child friendly seeing they say kids stay and eat free. Only 2 high chairs available. I found the night time Buffett was not good value for money as we have seafood allergies. I was disappointed that they were also using processed chicken each night in the hot section. We will stay again however we will not be getting the night Buffett and we will bring our own high chairs if we return soon. We will also be waiting for the off season to return. For a large family, this trip was very expensive for us and didn't feel we got good value for money....

Our bed room was well fitted out, spacious and enabled easy, quiet relaxation. Pool area was great also. Handy to have a laundry available. In the restaurant, food quality was very good, but service was inadequate and information was inconsistent. On our first night, we were told that a buffet dinner was available every night, so went for a la carte first up, only to find the following afternoon that buffet would not be available that night

Stayed here for 4 days. The room was very good, clean and the bathroom whilst small was satisfactory.
The pool area was a great place to relax, plenty of shade and comfortable lounges. Pool towels supplied.
The first disappointment was the food. The dining room pushes a very average buffet for $45. The food from the A al Carte menu when it arrived was ok but the choices were very limited.
We ate, half of the time, at the Caravan Park down the street where the food was excellent served quickly and had great variety.
Secondly on two occasions we left early in the morning and left the "please make up the room" sign out. Both times the room was not made up until 3.45pm.
If the hotel cannot respond to its own system then don't leave signs to hang on the door implying that things will happen.
Overall Staff were pleasant and helpful but this hotel needs better management.
