This new property is the 1st Holiday Inn Jakarta. Located in the district of Kemayoran in north Jakarta, it is a perfect place to stay if you're visiting the Jakarta Fair grounds, which is only 5 minutes drive away. It is connected to a 3 storey food emporium called FoodCentrum offering wide array of F&B options. Housed in a glitzy, modern building, the hotel itself boasts a luxurious lobby, has all the amenities of a full service hotel (such as fitness centre, bar, conference rooms and business centre) and nicely appointed guest rooms equipped with an iPhone/iPod dock and a personal Bluray disc player in a standard room! Matress and pillows are extremely comfortable with excellent soundproofing ensuring a good night's sleep. Bathroom and shower box was spotless in my room and stocked with a complete array of amenities. Sadly, the packaging of the vanity kit in my room was already torn (or used?) So I dont dare to use the rest of them for hygiene reasons. Free wifi was kinda slow and no options to upgrade speed was provided. The Botany restaurant where they serve breakfast has a luxurious feel but is unfortunately poorly designed as far as diner's movement is concerned. One of the main food serving corridor is being squeezed in by a large, marble-clad column, severely blocking the movement of diners in that spot. There wasn't much to talk about the food, pretty average both in terms of taste and selection. I would not pay for it when not part of the room rate. Check in was process was a breeze but the same cannot be said when checking out. I was waiting in line forever when BOTH reception staff in attendance that morning chose to attend to one guest and still took a very long time to sort him out. To compound my misery further, the lady reception staff elected to attend to one of those shameless line cutter instead of the next person in line when she became available! Only after my protestation that order was restored. Free parking was offered at the basement level but space was limited, so I can see problems when registered guests won't be able to find parking space when there is an event going on at the hotel's ballroom. All in all, this hotel is a welcome addition to the area which has been underserved by an international hotel chain for quite some time.

The room is clean and nice as it has just opened for a few months. Although the hotel is new, I didn't encounter any problems during my stay. It is the first time I have a handwritten welcome card in a hotel. It was a refreshing change! The food by in-room service was prompt and excellent!

The water kept coming out of the shower stall and making the bathroom wet. That was our only issue during our stay. Rest was good. Housekeeping did a great job with our room daily.
