If you have food allergies the manager( Vinnie) at this restaurant will go out of his way to tell you what meals you can eat and he will personally see to it that the meal is prepared exactly to the correct specifications, The menu is varied and everything is fresh.

My wife and I have stayed in Holiday Inn hotels a couple of time when we have traveled, in the north Texas area and others when we travel elsewhere. Coming to New York for me for the first time and staying in a hotel was an experience. The first thing that I noticed was the lack of parking for the hotel. The check-in experience was good and prompt. The first shock came when we got to our room and opened the door, I was completely shocked and disappointed at the size of the room compared to all the other hotels that we have stayed in. The room with a king sized bed was very cramped, the refrigerator was inadequate to store food and drinks in for an extended stay as well as a place to hang our clothes and store our luggage without having to trip over them. There was no room to move around in the room without having to bump into one another or jump over luggage. The second night in the hotel, the television did not work using the remote control. The bathroom like the room was very very small and had no counter space to store our personal items for an extended stay, it was cramped and stuffy. The towels were hard and had a stale smell to them. The second night after returning to the room, there was a smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom and the next night it was even stronger and we called the front desk and they sent an attendant to see where the smell was coming from. On our last night in the hotel, I found a cockroach about 3/4 in long in the bathroom, which I had to kill and put in a plastic bag to give to the front desk attendant, I saved her the experience and just mentioned it to her at checkout. We did enjoy the dining service to the room, that and the bed was the good points of the stay, but overall to say it plainly, this was not a good stay in New York for my first experience. One of the reasons that we decided to become a rewards member is that we were impressed with the hotel at our previous stays, we were very disappointed with this stay.

The customer service representative who checked me in (I think his name was Edwin or Edward) was one of the most pleasant and helpful front desk clerks I've had the pleasure of being greeted by...and I stay at a lot of hotels! He really is an asset to the IHG brand.

Clean, confortable, in a convenient location close to JFK Airport, this hotel is a very good option for both business and leisure trips into NY. The very good service can be felt all over the hotel, from the restaurant to the shuttle service. The restaurant offers good food, fair price and very kind service.

We checked into the JFK Holiday Inn at 1 pm and room was not ready but we did precheck in which was excellent. The manager was very nice. The room was extremely small for a king room and very disappointing. The other Holiday Inn's we have stayed in were bigger and the value was poor but it is in a good location.
The room was noisy at night with other guests; which the hotel has no control over; but it was not restful.
Elevator was EXTREMELY SLOW!!!!!
Gym was good sized but equipment was outdated and not at all good quality.

My family and I stayed at this property for one night before our return to the West Coast.. We were so grateful for the airport shuttle service which was sitting and waiting outside of the Federal Station shuttle pick-up, upon our arrival. The location of this property is located approximately 20 minutes from the airport, which was wonderful after a long train ride from Boston. This properties outside/inside appearance is clean and inviting. Customer Service at check-in is professional and courteous. I just wished the restaurant was still open for a late night snack. We had to settle for high sodium cups of noodles-Yuck! We were given the opportunity to request food delivered from neighborhood restaurants, but we were too tired.
Our room was nice and clean with a pleasant art-deco decor. The best part of our stay was the mattress. They are very comfortable...just like home! We choose the Holiday Inn properties for our travels for the comfort of the mattresses. Really! Also, the water pressure in the shower is wonderful. This is a must have for me! The towels are nice and thick and covers your entire body. Awesome!
The next day the restaurant was available for breakfast which we enjoyed, but if you're looking for a complimentary breakfast to help save on costs for your family, this is not the property to stay at. Although, the price of our meals were still reasonable, so if traveling with family, especially small children and cost is not much of an issue, then this property would be suitable
Lastly, we had a couple of hours to spare before our flight was to depart, so the front-desk was very generous in letting us keep our belongings behind the desk while we went out to do a little more sightseeing in Queens, N.Y. Upon our return the shuttle was sitting outside and available to actually take us directly to our terminal at the airport. This was a great savings rather than taking the shuttle back to Federal Station and taking the Airtrain which would have costed us $5.00 pp. We look forward to returning to New York and maybe we'll stay again at this Holiday Inn property or maybe another, but we thank you for a wonderful stay.

While eating our dinner at the in-hotel diner, the owner/manager came up and introduced himself. He then asked if everything was up to our satisfaction. This was a pleasant welcoming gesture.
