Everything about the stay was very nice except there are some changes in management related to the restaurant and there weren't enough people working there. The wait was long enough for a staff member to acknowledge us that we left and went to a nearby restaurant. Our first visit to the restaurant was very nice though, and the service was very prompt and the food was delicious. The room was nice and the staff were all super friendly. I really enjoyed my stay at La Mesa even if there was a minor restaurant problem. September 30, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great experience This hotel is not up to the standards I have come to expect from Holiday Inns. Positives: Front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. Lobby was okay. Internet was very good. Negatives: Leaving the elevator, the first thing I noticed was an ice machine about 20 feet from my room that sounded as loud as a jet engine. Walking into my room, the powerful smell of disinfectant mixed with whatever smell they were trying to cover up hit me in the face. I wouldn't describe the room as dirty, but I wouldn't call it clean either. Looking for a soda vending machine took me on a tour of my entire floor (I never found the machine, I think they removed it but didn't change the guest book to say that) and I stumbled on a number of wide open doors that led to a laundry chute and other stuff that should be under lock and key. Location is not great, inconvenient to get in and out and not close to any restaurants. The on-property restaurant is under new mgt so maybe they are just getting going - food and service was good for breakfast but decor was outdated. September 25, 2015
