Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Warm welcome, cool room on a hot day. Good all over Arrived after a long drive from Aberdeen. Impressive grounds, outside tables. Space for children to play. Reception was very warm and informative. Great night's sleep and a good breakfast to get us on our way to Penzance. If ever back in the area, will be selecting this Holiday Inn again. 13 July 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Value We checked in to the hotel sometime after 10.30pm being greeted by an unwelcoming individual who offered no assistance in helping with luggage and was rather keen to see us off to our room without any clear direction. The room was marked as an executive room which I consider to be over priced compared to other hotels. The distinguishing feature over other rooms in the hotel was a sofa the remainder was as other rooms A ridiculous small wardrobe was filled with an ironing board and two gowns leaving little room for anythingelse. The room charge did not include breakfast which was available once a voucher had been secured following an explanation by the"greeter". Coffe came with no milk & no apology and whist it looked like coffee tasted of hot water. The pepper mill was empty and no effort made to replace it was made. The cooked breakfast was of poor quality particularly the fried eggs and transparent bacon A ridiculous charge for wifi use was advertised and therefor not taken up. I am unlikely to stay again 05 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not very wheelchair accessible The hotel staff and decor is great. I booked a wheelchair accessible room as I am in a wheelchair and need room to maneuver around. Myself & husband got into the room, and the only way I could turn around once I entered the room, was go right in to the main window and turn around. The gap in between the bed and the wall was just big enough for my chair so I could get into the bed. The same was for the bottom of the bed, there was just enough room for my chair to move between the bed and the wardrobe. The bathroom is tiny and very little room to it. The only "wheelchair accessible" bit in the room was the bath chair and a couple of grab handles. The trouble is these "wheelchair accessible" rooms are done by able bodied people who have no idea what its like to be in a wheelchair and how much room you need to move about! Only stayed 1 night as we had somewhere to travel onto the next day. Didn't have any food or use any amenities, so can't comment on those things. 04 July 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Business Stay A very poor experience. Hotel is overpriced for the level of service you receive. Bar prices are very expensive. If you order a drink at the bar after hours you are charged a 40p service charge for your pleasure. Breakfast experience was very poor and staff unfriendly. Took a long time to check out in the morning, they didn't have enough staff on the desk. Overall I wouldn't recomend anyone to stay here unless they had no other alternative as its not easy to get to and when you do you feel very short changed. 04 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff Could not be more complimentary about the staff, waiters and waitresses could not do enough, very attentive and excellent standards. Very impressed. 29 June 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lack luster housekeeping standards and poor room allocation. A little disappointed that a executive room booked for two adults was set up for one and therefore required a visit back down to the under staffed reception and bar area on a Friday evening to resolve this. We were then required to wait to get back to the room while it was properly set up after a long drive through traffic. The housekeeping standard was also sloppy as the bed was missing a mattress protector and the highly creased state of the shower curtain points to a lack of room checks. Easily avoidable and typical of a poorly managed hotel. 17 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for short stay We stayed here for one night when attending a family celebration in Leamington. We had stayed before and new what to expect. Room very comfortable. Staff welcoming. Breakfast not as good as previous visits - bacon very dry and tired looking. Hotel is very convenient for access to motorway network as well as travel into Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth or Stratford. 10 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Great location very close to town centre for shopping, drinking and eating out. Staff were friendly, very helpful and accomodating. room was as you'd expect from holiday inn. would stay there again. Close to Warwick castle and lovely park. 08 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service helpfull staff Excellent helpfull staff a credit to the Holiday Group, I would not hesitate in recommending this establishment to all business contacts working in the area 27 May 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent place for a stop over. We came down to Leamington Spa and stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn, we were attending our friends daughters wedding in Southam. They allowed us into our room as soon as we arrived-so plenty of time to get ready. We returned by minibus at about 12.15 am and when I asked if it was possible to have some tea bags we were all given some,Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast choice lovely. We will definitely stay here again. Our friends recommended it to us and we shall have no qualms about recommending The Holiday Inn Leamington Spa. Mr & Mrs. F. Nattriss. 23 May 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super comfy bed and quiet room Solo traveller but room and bathroom a good size. Very clean and comfortable. All staff friendly and helpful. Receptionist really engaged well with those of us checking in / out and when I had to buy a reasonably priced toothbrush ! Quiet location. Great value. 10 May 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant stay! Accommodation was fine, food was good with a reasonable choice and fair prices. The restaurant and lounge areas were fine and the staff were polite and helpful. The room had air conditioning and the beds were comfortable. No problems, would use this company again. 22 April 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poor Rooms Reasonable out of town location, nice reception and bar area, but the room was very dated.. Bed was uncomfortable the carpet had stains on the floor (a lot) and the wardrobe mirror was broken (room 21). Disappointed to have to pay for internet. I am a gold card member and I was charged 50% of the regular internet price.. Based on these problems I would not use this hotel again nor would I recommend this hotel. 12 April 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable Beds. Mutliple stays at this Hotel due to it's proximity to my company. Decent overall facility, but the beds are some of the most uncomfortable I've encountered. 12 April 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What's the point.... ....Of booking a family room (with two double beds) if one of them has a totally unusable mattress and the only space for a cot is under a draughty window and a broken full length mirror. In addition in the disabled toilet the changing table (plus for having one!) was so high that was rendered unusable for anyone below 6 foot. 06 April 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean modern room, hotel looks tired, food only ok (beware the '8oz' beef burger.... it isn't) receptionist was friendly and chatty. the hotel is looking tired, but the room was modern, clean and tidy. the room service menu isn't great and the 'beef burger' was not as I have had in all other Holiday Inns and was poor...(I didn't eat mine) however the room service guy came and looked, apologised and was friendly enough (although didn't offer to change the meal)§ On the whole, an OK Holiday Inn experience, but not the best Holiday Inn I've been to.... not the worst either!! 27 March 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable stay Excellent facilities, good choice of food, reasonably priced 21 March 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldnt recommend I arrived at this hotel and it took me 40 mins to get checked in! and I am a platinum club member. After I eventually was checked in I tried to get food, big mistake! was told kitchen closed and it wont be open for another hour because they just had a large party arrive! Bed was lumpy staff couldn't understand why I was unhappy. 21 March 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cold and internet connection Stayed at the hotel the other week and when booking in my room I found there was a portable heater there. It appeared that the air con in the room was not working efficiently and this heater was needed to boost up the levels. However this was of only little help because after being out all day the temperature had dropped. I spoke to others that were staying in the hotel and it appered this was a common fault throughout. Another important point, I am surprised in this day and age that hotels still think it is acceptable to charge for internet connection. When this was new and rare then that might have been the case but not now. I'm guessing the bulk of customers particularly in the week are business people, therefore internet connection should be a must not an expensive add on! This hotel chain is behind the times as it is extremely rare that I'm am charged for internet connection (in the UK or overseas). It coffee shops provide this then keep up Holiday Inn! 28 February 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pity about the windows Everything was excellent, apart from the room in one respect only. The windows are so poorly fitting that traffic noise from the main road is overpowering. Until 12pm and again from 5am the traffic speeds past making it impossible to obtain a good night's sleep and rest. 24 February 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great food and superb bed Friendly check in staff, room was very clean and comfortable. Selection on menu is good with daily deals to be recommended. 11 February 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth paying for Not a particularly good location and a distinct lack of atmosphere. The room was okay but ridiculously over-priced for what was offered and I was disgusted to have to pay for internet access which is free at most other hotels - £4.95 for one hour in real-time or £12.95 for 24 hours! Having stayed at various Holiday Inn hotels around the world I think Holiday Inn needs to do a serious rethink with this particular hotel as it is just a rip-off franchised venue hiding behind a the bigger brand. 10 January 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Newspaper - First Time Experience After many years staying in Holiday Inn hotels throughout the UK, this was the first time that the option of an alternative newspaper to the complimentary "i" was not available, even for payment. The reception staff were very apologetic, but it was not possible. Otherwise an excellent Twixmas stay. 06 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of the disco We were not told when booking or on arrival that there would be a disco starting at 21.30 and ending at midnight. The music kept us awake. Others may need to consider this when booking for the rest of December 2012 03 December 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Most enjoyable. Clean, warm, comfortable and breakfast was very good for buffet style. 30 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Queens Bed comfortable Hotel location on industrial estate but easy walk to shopping park with places to eat. Room with queen size bed was a good size and very clean bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was of good quality and plenty of choice. Would return to this hotel for short break. 29 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super clean and comfortable hotel I stayed at this hotel with my friends on a girls night out in Leamington spa. The location of the hotel was a bit out of Leamington, but only a short journey away via taxi. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. A great, clean, fresh place to stay and a feeling of being at home. 26 November 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pub / fast food style of menu hugely disappointing. The room was fairly small, bathroom standard. The welcome from and help given by the receptionist was excellent. The main disappointment was the menu, a piece of laminated board that would have been more at home in a greasy spoon, cheap fast-food joint or downmarket pub. The things on the menu were of the same style, certainly not what we expect in a 3* hotel 'restaurant'. The menu definitely offered burger-joint / pub grub, and not a gasto-pub, fare, not restaurant food. Burgers, curry, chips and similar. Absolutely nothing remotely healthy and nothing inviting, the laminated menu led us to believe that the usual clientel are people who get food over everything. Not the sort of people I'd want sitting next to me in a restaurant! It's a couple of miles back to the town but we managed to find somewhere to eat decent quality food from an interesting menu. We arrived back at the hotel to find two groups holding parties. The noise from the marquees filled our bedroom until about midnight, we were exhausted and wanted to sleep, especially after having to go out and find our evening meal. The following morning we were woken by the cleaning staff making an unacceptable level of noise as it was before 09.00. Overall, the hotel is clean and modern, we expected great things when we entered the foyer - we were very disappointed when they did not materialise. The menu is uninviting in the extreme if you are expecting a 'restaurant' menu - and who isn't when you stay in an hotel? We were unlucky with the parties but the noise from the cleaning staff should not happen. It's handy for the town, although by no means central. We would not actually recommend it but if asked would say it's o.k. as long as you're prepared to go out for your evening meal, don't want to sleep in after 09.00 and check before you book that there are no parties - or at least ask for a room that will be quiet. There were black hairs in both the sink and bath - as a pair of red-heads we know we didn't put them there. Otherwise the room was fine. 24 November 2012
