With a very city centre hotel, opposite the train station, I wasn't expecting miracles. The front door didn't look too great either, being located between a car park ramp and a takeaway.
However I was pleasantly surprised, once inside the hotel was clean and well presented, the food in the hotel was very nice and the rooms were the best you could get for the price.
Also, I was expecting some city noise, but the rooms were brilliantly quiet and the beds comfortable, all in all a great stay.

Easy to access being across the road from Lime St station, so able to leave suitcase early, and enjoy my day

We booked this for one night in half term as we have previously stayed here. The hotel couldn't be more perfectly situated as it's right in the middle of Liverpool, opposite the train station. The room was enormous and far surpassed our expectations!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Convenient location
Conveniently located across from Liverpool Lime Street rail station, and a few minutes walk from the waterfront, the Holiday Inn is an excellent base. This was the second time I have stayed there and I will certainly be back.

This is a standard Holiday Inn. The service at check in and check out was smooth. The room was good and clean. Breakfast was of good quality and ample. Service at the restaurant was very good. The shower was better than at many other Holiday Inns. Free wifi was available but was erratic because connection was frequently and repeatedly dropped.
If you are staying here please use public transport. It is almost bang opposite Liverpool Lime Street rail station. And handy in that respect.
I suggest you do not use this hotel if you are using your own car. They advertise that parking charge is £6 for 24 hours. That applies only if you leave the car parked for all the 24 hours. If you take it out in between, hourly rates apply. And they are not cheap.
The problem is that the parking arrangement is at a private car park almost adjacent, not owned by the hotel but with whom Holiday Inn has some understanding. And the parking spaces have been made very cramped in order to maximise earnings for the owners. My new VW Passat had damage to rear-door while it was parked there. I can only blame the St John's Shopping Car Park owners for making the spaces so exceedingly tight. Will cost at least £150 to repair which is more than the cost of a double room at the Holiday Inn with breakfast included! Not a happy experience at the Liverpool City Centre Holiday Inn. I wish now that I had gone elsewhere...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DesB Great overnight stay
The hotel was smart and comfortable.
We had two bar meals (not having time to use the reasonably priced restaurant) which were very good.
The room was large, quiet with comfortable beds.
ALL the staff from the booking in staff, through the bar and restaurant staff and room cleaner were all very friendly and helpful.
We will be going back there again.

As a more mature couple we appreciated exiting Lime Street station and crossing the road straight into the welcoming hotel. Booked the room in advance and received a good deal. The room was very clean and quiet (especially at night). We did have breakfast which was very reasonably priced and had a great view over the streets of Liverpool from the restaurant. We had been to Liverpool before but have never stayed overnight, this time we had four nights in the hotel and to be honest it left us wanting more. We have stayed in Holiday Inns before (here and abroad) and this one certainly sits pretty close to the top of the table for both location and room comfort, we would not hesitate in recommending it to our friends and family. Would certainly come back to this vibrant and cultured city.
