From arriving at hotel to leaving was a great experiance breakfast and stunning view of st georges hall . walking distance to albert docks the cavern and liverpool one and lime street station fantastic

The hotel is very well located for shops, city centre attractions, the docks, museums, cathedrals and literally a stones throw from Lime St Station. We walked most places without any difficulty.
The outside of the hotel is tired and not attractive and the St John's shopping centre it sits on top of is rather naff with lots of cheap shops.
The room was ordinary by Holiday Inn standards (I stay in lots of them all over the country so have a fair view of the norm!) but was clean with and OK TV. No fridge though and the air con was somewhat loud.
Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful - can't fault the hotel on that front.
We only ate breakfast but the quality of food was good and the specially cooked items were particularly good.
Sadly the entrance and general tired state of the hotel let's it down, for example the hallways didn't smell good and the carpets had long creases in them.

I am really disappointed and my stay here. Yes the location is great but in general the Hotel is tired with worn an ululating carpeting in communal spaces and even the room.
My major grip is that on arrival back to the hotel at around 1am, my partner and I were greeted by the door men (and I totally understand why a city central hotel needs them). My room booking was for two people (we are two guys) and we had the key card and card which I held when arriving at the door. The door man (bouncer|) asked repeatedly what room was my partner was staying in, and asked to see his room card time and time again. We replied a number of times we are staying the same room, and that the room was reserved for two people. It took some convincing and eventually he checked to room list to confirm "our story"
Is such a bright and vibrant city I am shocked my partner and I would have such an issue. This is truly unacceptable!

I found this to be the best stay ever in a Holiday Inn Hotel, for friendliness and helpfulness of staff, personal attention to detail, and the spaciousness of hotel room for Gold Elite status membership was brilliant.
I will look to book this hotel each time when staying in Liverpool for future visits.

We checked in and upon leaving the desk after chatting to very friendly but sincere staff we mentioned we'd need a cab for our engagement party. We got a fabulous congratulations and 15 mins later a card and chocolates delivered. To the room.
A very very personal touch from a big chain hotel.
We are now going to consider getting married there.

We stayed in this hotel on 14/15th May 2013: The hotel is located directly opposite Lime St Rail Station and very close to the Empire Theatre.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was modern, comfortable and clean.
The only negatives are related to the food & drink;
We both had lasagne which was of poor standard and the length of time between courses was nearly 20 minutes. The drinks we had in the bar were fine but the cost was too high - hence only 2 drinks purchased.

We stayed here while on a trip to Liverpool, and. Tbh cannot recommend it enough, the staff where so friendly from we walked through the door to checkout, the rooms where of high standard and spotless, my husband and myself where very impressed, keep up the great work :)

I always prefer to stay at Holiday Inn Lime street when I am in Liverpool. It is my home away from home.
The staff is nice, welcoming, knowledgable and very helpful.
The location is perfect, as it is close to the train station, and also right in the middle of the city centre.

Very good friendly and helpful reception staff. Young man on the bar in the afternoon very friendly with everybody I saw him dealing with. Very friendly staff at breakfast. Will be staying here again in the near future.

Right across from Lime Street Station and at the edge of the St John shoping centre. Right in the middle of town with multiple restaurants and bars within close walking distance. Parking next door in shopping complex which cost me six pounds with the hotel stamp for an overnight. Staff very helpfull and would definately recomend for a Liverpool stay.

Booked a smoking room and recieved an email confirmation confirming this.When we arrived i was told i hadnt booked a smoking room and was basically called a liar by the duty manager for saying we did! even after showing him the confirmation he still didnt believe me.
Not impressed at all by the customer service and wouldnt stay hear again. On a PLUS note,the breakfast was great and the staff serving were BRILLIANT.Pity these people arent front of house!!!

Hotel is centrally located with good car parking facilities. Rooms are comfortable and reception staff were very welcoming. The restaurant offered an excellent meal and good evening service, however the breakfast staff were not as efficient, didnt listen to the order for drinks or fish correctly. Overall an enjoyable experience for a central city hotel.

We have stayed here before and found it ideal for central Liverpool,
This time family members met up with us and also stayed the night on our recommendation. They greatly enjoyed their stay.
This is our hotel of choice when staying in Liverpool.

We have stayed at this, and other Holiday Inn group venues, several times in recent years. A couple of years ago, we achieved "gold" status as Priority Club members, and were quite happy with things in general. However, our last 7 or 8 stays (2 at Liverpool H.I.) have left us wondering if the situation is just temporary, or whether I.H.G. are on a more permanent decline. Three times in the last year, we have felt strongly enough about matters to request a call from management, once we have gone home. Two times, including this stay, just last weekend, we have heard nothing from them at all, which makes you wonder whether they really care at all. And just once, we had a feeble e-mail from someone saying that all matters were important to them, yet we had asked for, and were promised, a phone call, so that we could effectively get our points across. Needless to say, we are tending to spend more of our hard-earned cash at several other more worthy establishments these days, which would easily explain why we are no longer "gold" rated.

I was really made to feel welcome at reception, and my Priority Club Membership was recognised postively. As a PC member I was entitled to a free newspaper - unfortunately my Guardian didn't turn up next morning. I mentioned this on departure - and was convinced that the staff were ready to dash out and get me one if I'd wanted them to.
I had a drink in the bar and accessed the free Wi-Fi - very pleasant service and surroundings. Usual gripe with Holiday Inn - no draught cider, just bottled.
Didn't find the menuing system on the TV user-friendly probably due to the slowness in page changes - don't recall having the same problem with other HI locations.
But overall, good value for money.

Overall not too bad. 9th floor gives you great views over Liverpool and the Mersey. They're all smoking rooms though, so if you really hate that thought don't stay up there.
We've stayed there before - in room 908 I think, which was fine; this time (Feb 28) we were in 904 and suffered from noise from (I think) air conditioning which made it difficult to get to sleep. Reception staff when we checked out were fairly sympathetic, but there was a definite implication that since we hadn't demanded to be moved in the middle of the night it can't have been all that bad. That's why the scores aren't as high as they otherwise would be. And at least we know which room not to stay in next time!

We stayed 4 nights, everything was perfect .Friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was outstanding and yet not very expensive. The bathrooms could have been provided with better lighting but really nothing serious to complain about.I would recommend the hotel to anyone, anytime.

A super hotel friendly staff clean room great breakfast everyone helpful will be back next season. Only down side more information in rooms on surrounding area would help and better control of heating as when we turned ours off the room was still very warm at night other than that excellent and thank you to all the staff for their help and general help.

i had a number of problems when i stayied here. I rung up before to ask if i needed my business pay card was told no, then i needed it when i arrived. this took alot of my time.
then when i went upstairs to my room the pillows where all over the bed, and the towels covering the bathroom so i had to move rooms.
this was a strange experiance.

We always use Holiday Inn, as we were meeting with friends in the City centre we decided to use this hotel, wrong choice, no free parking, the Duty Manager was quite obnoxious and we did not get our Priority Discounts, but heyho we won't be going back there and would NOT reccomend this Hotel

staff very helpful, taxi ordered when needed, left alown, food in bar excellent value and good service. Great few days looking forward to the next!
