We visit Liverpool on a regular basis and have always stayed at the Staybridge or H I Express on the Albert Dock, however both were fully booked on this weekend. Hence we choose the City Centre Hotel.
We have always been put off this hotel by the exterior appearance, but appearances are deceptive, once inside the hotel it is bright and modern with a theme of Liverpool (photos and history) running throughout.
The staff were friendly and helpful on reception.
There was a very good choice for breakfast of both cold and cooked food.
We were told that the hotel had been refurbished last year and the room was spacious, modern and clean.
And would not hesitate to stay here again.

BEEN BUSY AT WORK AND DECIDED A VISIT TO LIVERPOOL WAS FAR ENOUGH TO TRAVEL - ALWAYS ENJOY THE CITY AND HAD A GOOD STAY ON MY LAST VISIT TO THIS HOTEL. IT'S EVEN BETTER NOW WITH A MAKEOVER OF THE RECEPTION AREA AND BAR/RESTAURANT. FOR SUCH A HIGH QUALITY EXPERIENCE AND EXCEPTIONALLY CONVENIENT LOCATION, THE PRICE IS AMAZING.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cavy Stay spoiled by water outage and sewage smell
The water was out in this hotel for nearly 12 hours and when it returned it was brown and foul smelling. I did not wish to stay in the hotel with the water situation so staff were very quick to accommodate my wish to move and I was transferred to the Crowne Plaza instead. The eggs at this hotel were cold, brown and overcooked which was not pleasant. This is an expensive hotel for what it is but very convenient for Lime St. railway station. However, the television not working, the water situation and the not very good breakfast mean that I would not stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Deacon42 Great City Break at Holiday Inn, Liverpool
My wife and I stayed for three nights in the Presidential Suite. The suite had a bedroom with a huge bed and a TV, a dining room, a lounge (with a TV) and two bathrooms. The room, being on the 9th floor, was very quiet, with fantastic views over Liverpool. The room was spotless and we had too many towels, if anything. All the usual features were present - toiletries, hair dryer, iron
