Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Check inn ok arrived at room which was a little dated. Used toilet and toilet failed to re-fill, contacted reception whe sent maintenance who informed us there was nothing they could do as hotel was full and the toilet in that room always took ages to fill. Visited reception who confirmed this and said its been like that for ten years and we are completley full so cant move you. So we had to time our ablutions allowing the toilet at least 30 minutes to refil through out our stay - totally unsatisfactory. We had tickets to be part of the audience for strictly come dancing show which my wife had been really excited about since we where informed we had won them and she insisted on a nice hotel to make weekend and booked Holiday Inn - Very disappointed. 07 December 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Very Comfortable Hotel The fact that this hotel is so accessible from the A1 makes it ideal to use whilst enroute North or South. On arrival one is made to feel welcome and the open aspect of the public rooms offers an ideal location for lunch, supper or just a drink. The swimming pool although small is a bonus. I will certainly use the hotel again in the future. 04 December 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly good bar food You know when you stay in a hotel and you really don't want to eat there as usually hotel food is over priced and poor quality. Well I arrived late and couldn't be bothered going out but fancied a pint and some champions League footy so I went down to the bar. The Bar had a reasonable bar food menu which was great quality if a little dear. Staff were all knowledgeable, cheerful and helpful. 02 December 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous time We stayed here 23rd November for one night only, to be fair wish we could have stayed longer. The experience was fabulous. We had room service and the food was great, arrived in good time, delivered by a lovely older lady ( sorry didn't get her name ). The hotel receptionist Alicia could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I will certainly stay at other Holiday Inns because of this experience WELL DONE. 28 November 2013

Complimentary drinks and chocolates a lovely touch, dressing gowns and slippers. indoor pool very small not wonderful for swimming lengths. we always stay here when a hotel is needed. breakfast adequate plenty to offer. hotel only good location if you have a car. staff very friendly. 23 November 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My North London preferred hotel I have used this hotel on several occasions, and it was one which promised much and didn't deliver. However, my more recent stays have cemented my decision to make this my North London base. The staff are attentive, and definitely try to make regular customers welcome, as demonstrated by not even having to give my name to check in, and I only stay once a month. Dinner service has improved dramatically, with Mary, the Supervisor being a prime example of why good staff learn from good leadership. I am fortunate also that, when I do receive a room upgrade, they have remembered which is my favourite room, and assign me this when possible. I have not tried out the pool, but will do so on my next stay. 17 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better when they know you as a regular customer This is definitely one of those hotels where, the more you stay, the better the service. On this occasion, the heating was turned on in my room before I arrived (I have a musculoskeletal condition made worse by cold), my food preferences were catered for, and both check-in and check-out were handled smoothly. My first stay in this hotel made me wonder if I would be back, but this has now become my Darlington base, when I am working in the area. Top tips: if you can, book in advance and go for an Exec room, as they are very spacious. Check whether the bathroom has a window, because if it does, it will make the room very cold! 17 November 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Better experience at Golders Green Hol Inn Express Internet access was non existent - although I complained to reception within 30mins of check in it took until check out for the member of staff to get it working on my device The printed instructions given were not suitable for ipads and no one in building could help me til checkout Bar staff refused to honour Irish Coffee as free Gold Member drink Upon arrival and checkout there appeared to be no concern for customer experience Would have to think twice about staying here again 31 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant hotel General cleanliness of hotel a good standard. Rooms are a fair size, and quality if bed was comfortable. Shower was very weak, with very little pressure. Relaxing environment with plenty of social areas. Reception staff wasn't acceptable, service was slow. There was a long que at check in, with one staff on desk who was slow, and another member of staff who just looked on. When asked to support, there was no commitment. 29 October 2013

The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The reception staff deserve particular recognition. One negative about the hotel is that because it is located near the busy A1 some rooms are quite noisy. However, there are also a lot of rooms that are very quiet. 26 October 2013

The staff are a laugh but always maintain a professional attitude when they help you. The rooms are excellently maintained as the very handsome public areas. I prefer quiet and comfort and have got exactly that each time I have stayed on my own or with my partner. Recommended and valued as an excellent place to stay if you are working or playing within a short distance of the A1 (2 minutes away), M1 or M11. 21 October 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Short Stay We came here to go Harry Potter World which is about 20min drive from the hotel. The hotel has a small swimming pool and good bar and restaurant facilities. We had a king room but it was 2 singles put together with a sheet holding them together. The breakfast was good with a good selection. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they are a credit to the hotel. If the bed was a proper zip and link bed this would have made the stay great. 25 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent hotel but the cost of wifi is ridiculous Good hotel for visiting London without the hassle of driving into Central London: it's situated right off the A1 and not far from the M1 and M25. The room was comfortable and very quiet and the food was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. In fact, the only downside to this hotel is the extortionate cost of wifi. 23 September 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Executive Room 147 Well, it's not great. To begin with, the welcome at reception was less than acceptable. The front of house staff seemed somewhat distracted and not on the ball. I had to ask for an upgrade - something that other hotels offer freely as a matter of course - and was given an Executive Room. When we went to the room, the card-key didn't work, so we asked a chambermaid working adjacent who then let us in. The room was large and the bed enormous, but the decoration was very much in need of a lift. The paintwork to the bay window was grey with dirt and grime. The net curtains were torn and grey. When it came to returning to the hotel late evening, it was seemingly a bit of a chore for the bar staff to change a barrel of beer over when it had run out. Quite frankly, if that's the best that Holiday Inn can do, my many years of patronage will quickly draw to an end. No doubt that at some point there'll be the usual comment tacked on the end of my review such as "We have a Customer Relations Manager on site who is available to deal with concerns during your stay. etc etc" But really and truly, it shouldn't need to come to that. The staff are friendly and prefessional and always respond to any queries/requests promptly. The use of the gym and pool are an added bonus for those of an energetic persuasion. Menu choice for dinner is varied and always freshly cooked. 11 September 2013

Having to reschedule our stay due to a bereavement we were really looked after by Nicholas the reception manager. He is an absolute gem and a real asset to any hotel. An upgraded room, free Internet and breakfast for my wife and I were a very generous thing to give us and we truly appreciated it. The breakfast is the BEST breakfast ever had.Fantastic service,staff and value for money. Thank you all. 10 September 2013

From the front desk reception, comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the bar and restaraunt, to the Gym and Spa. I can highly recommend this Holiday Inn as excellent value for money. Along with this, it is easy to find and located next to the main links into Central London, don't pay the high central London prices when you can stay here and be at the heart of London in 20 minutes. 09 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service been to this hotel about 3 times now ,.staff always polite and helpful very clean love the sauna steam room swim pool etc even though we've missed the closing time time as was told different on last visit on sat but never mind we should gone earlier but its lovely hotel breakfast was lovely room we stayed in this time seemed smaller than last room were in and also there was a irritating noise this time that kept us awake so didn't get much sleep but first time though definite would recommend this hotel as apart from that one thing it was first time we had that problem as we have previously not one bad comment and we would still definitely go back again 04 September 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but food could be better The hotel is as you would expect from a new property very well turned out, the room was nice, the staff were friendly and attentive, The breakfast was good even at busy periods. The main downside for me was the Restaurant food on an evening, and given the long questionnaire about it left in the room it looks like it's probably something that is being looked into. Hotel food is often seen as a last resort especially in large city's where you can eat out so easily, but if you are working away and are by yourself for example it's often easier to eat in the Hotel. My brief suggestion would be to reduce the options available per night but do those options well, with more fresh produce. 02 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay, but have breakfast outside of he hotel. We stayed in this hotel on 23 of August 13 for 1 night. I had really nice sleep. But breakfast quality is really bad: sausages has been kept under heater fo so long that they start to dry, scramble eggs were the worst one I have ever tried. When I asked restaurant staff to bring some freshly cooked sausages, they ignored me. I would def recommend to stay there, but not have a breakfast. 28 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good room poor food When the chef balks at rare lamb and your chicken is over done despite asking for very lightly cooked, you know you're in the wrong place for food. Hotel was nice but pretentious. Restaurant severely lets down the team. Come on guys, at least change the menu occasionally! Expensive given the quality. 25 August 2013
