Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peacefull and Relaxed This is the third or forth time I have stayed in this Holiday inn, and each time is approximately 6 nights. This hotel is truly a gem. From initial contact by phone to reserve a room with either Kieren or Yvonne you are looked after from that point onwards. Once in reception you will be greeted by the most friendliest receptionists in the Country...... and it's genuine. Alex, Dana, Emma, Asil and Nick. These guys are really important because they are the Oracle of all knowledge. Test them. I needed a battery for my computer mouse late one evening and as if by magic, within 5 seconds Asil came up with two (one as a spare). When you do stay here, you must do Breakfast. As Breakfast Buffets go, it's a good 9.5/10. One of the first staff you meet will be Wendy, she's great, but you must introduce yourself to Katy, she has the most gorgeous smiles every morning and she makes a killer pot of tea. One morning I was running a little late and had my (clean) work clothes on (I'm a specialist painter), I had obviously caught the eye of the General manager. I did feel guilty, wearing work clothes in her restaurant but later that day I plucked up the courage to apologise to her. Angela was so gracious with me, maybe it was the Cravat I was wearing! On occasion I have used room service for evening meals. The hotel has a good prompt service with keen prices too. I have eaten Dinner a few times in the restaurant and have no complaints there either. From my perspective the menu has a very good choice of food and wine. The rooms are spotlessly clean well appointed and very well serviced. The beds are very comfortable. I stay in Hotels in the UK and in Europe for about five months every year and I will gladly put my seal of approval on the Elstree Holiday inn. Well done Angela and to your lovely staff. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Check if there are parties going on We couldn't fault the facilities of the hotel. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, the temperature in the room was good on a really cold night. Our big gripe was being upgraded to an Executive Room only to find out that room was right over the bar/lounge and they were having some kind of party and the music, particularly the bass, was pretty loud in our room. When I called to reception at 11:30p, I was told the music would continue at that level until 2a and it wouldn't be turned down. I would expect this maybe in central London but not out in Elstree at a business hotel. Luckily it stopped at 1am instead of 2am but being annoyed at not being able to sleep had taken hold by then. The reception desk did compensate us with points when we left and was more understanding than whoever was on the night before but this feels like a poor management decision ruining a stay rather than any fault of the facilities of the hotel. 17 December 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place to stay I spend more time here than at my own home and its the staff that make this place special. The food can sometimes not be the best, and the rooms are a little tired, but the quality and friendliness of the staff make this a great hotel to stop at. For me the perfection is the staff. The other minor faults are exactly that and don't deter from a fantastic stay every time. Thanks to you all. 26 November 2014
