Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by reactive staff, hotel needs refurnishing though rooms a bit old (we had an issue with AC making horrible noise , really unbearable..), after some hesitations (repair that did not work out, and asking for help, we could not stay in such a room ...) duty Manager really helped (as well as concierge) and got us into a great room instead (a suite with our children) so good points for the staff (maybe they should have reacted faster to really make a fantastic impression ie be pro active instead of re active) but this hotel (located in a great location) needs some work on the rooms to bring them to more modern standards - another feedback: breakfast personnel was very nice and helpful 04 November 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I expect better from this hotel brand! The one and only good point about this hotel is its location. This is without doubt the worst Holiday Inn I have stayed in. I expect more from this hotel brand. The service is awful, we had to wait 1 hour for food, not ideal when you've got two young kids. The bar is extortionate, wifi is £5 for 1 hour and the rooms are very dated. Our toilet did not flush properly and the bathroom was very old. The taps display the year 1924 and I dare bet that was the last time they were changed! We spent most of our time in the Holiday Inn Oxford Circus. 03 November 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Central Location in London Had a great 4 day stay. Within walking distance of Picadilly and theater district. Also, Buckingham Palace just across the park. Lot's of options for public transport. Green Park tube a block away and many bus routes also. Only down side was the cost of using the internet access. 16 GBP for 24 hours is way too high. Starbucks across the street offers it for free. 03 November 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel and Location As a family of 4 we really enjoyed our trip to London. The hotel itself added to the experience. The location is great with many places within walking distance, for example, Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Guards Museum, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Regent Street, British Museum, University Museums, Hyde Park Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye. When our legs couldn't take any more the Green Park tube station is just around the corner. The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly/ helpful and the food good. We couldn't fault it and will definitely stay there again. 31 October 2012

Superb location, a few minutes' walk from Green Park tube station and a short walk through Green Park to the Bomber Command Memorial, which we had come to see. The room however left something to be desired: the noisy bathroom fan kept us awake, and a request to have it fixed was ignored; the pillows #helpfully labelled 'frim' and 'soft'# were flat and uncomfortable; there was no hot water on the second morning of our stay, and no apology or compensation from the receptionist upon checkout, Disappointing! 28 October 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not our best visit to Mayfair We not given the expected room and my wife went to enquire at reception. A female member of reception was very dismissive towards my wife, she took no time to explain why we had not received our booked room type, just said 'not available' and never even looked up from her screen. Despite the fact that I was not feeling to well I had to respond. I met a member of managment in the coridoor and my experience with her and a more senior member of the reception team was certainly much more curteous, and the matter was resolved. besides this incident the rest of the staff were excellent, but my wife felt that corners have been cut at the breakfast experience. All a bit of a shame; as we used to like the HI at Mayfair; but will probably seek an alternative accommodation for our next break. 25 October 2012

Our stay was most enjoyable and the trip was a complete success. The staff were quite excellent - polite, attentive and friendly. Service in general had greatly improved, which contributed to making our stay a very relaxed experience. In times of crisis, the hotel staff proved extremely efficient and kind. Due to the hotel location, we were able to get everywhere without stress. The many restaurants and cafés in the area give guests a great choice. There was no need for us to go out of Mayfair for meals, shopping, or just walk the parks. The hotel bar is a very nice place to share a meal or drinks, or just wait to meet someone. All in all, we will definitely return to this hotel. 23 October 2012

My husband and myself stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October 2012 and were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room (722) the bed was very comfortable and the room was warm and cosy which was great for the rainy London nights. The only downside about the bedroom was that there was no veiw from the large window. We were on the top floor of the hotel and there seemed to be a barrier or wall of some sort outside the window so we had to stand on our tip toes to see over the wall. The bathroom let the room down, it was very small and cramped with an over the bath shower that could not be set at a different angle, but it was clean and had plenty of fluffy white towels. We never ate at the hotel so can't comment on the food but we did enjoy a nightcap in the comfortable bar. 18 October 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stay marred by receptionist What would have been a wonderful stay at a very nice hotel was sadly marred by one middle-aged receptionist on the desk on the morning of Sept 26th.I felt I was treated with contempt by the way she spoke to me,and also had the impression that she deemed myself and my family members to be unsuitable clientele for "her" hotel.On both encounters with this person,my requests,although spoken pleasantly and politely each time,were not answered in a manner that I felt the hotel management would consider to be respectful or courteous.I can only hope that the two other staff members on the reception desk that morning relate to guests in a far more pleasant manner,and that they are not influenced to use the same scathing tone of voice to which I was subjected. On the other hand,I would like to compliment the hotel on the exemplary service of the waiter(of Oriental heritage,I think) who was working in Nightingales on Sept 25th,he is a major asset to the hotel.Throughout the evening he attended our table in a very professional manner but still maintained a friendly and relaxed rapport with each of us. 14 October 2012

Whatever you pay extra you save in fact that everything is within walking distance. Friendly reception and concierge service. My last stay was marred though by a conference going on in room next to mine hence very noisy on my first afternoon/evening. Had to phone down to complain. Hope they factor this next time before offering rooms to regular clients. 13 October 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Stay I'vr always loved this hotel for the location and service. So I chose it to give my sister and niece a great taste of london for their first visit ever. Bad move. We got Room 524 which was cramped and as a Platinum Elite member I was told this was the best they could do. It was noisy as if we were in a construction zone; the toiletries and coffee/tea complimentary items were provided for one (and not 3 guests- even after we drew this to attention of staff) and the airconditon was an unholy racket making sleep impossible. The quality was unaceptable. Furthermore, there was no level of attention or acknowledgement provided for a Platinum Elite Member. the duty manager on check -out on October 08 was attentive and apologetic and now I will have to weigh whether to give my former favourite London hotel another chance. 12 October 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience I stayed at this hotel using my priority club points and was really pleasantly surprised. The location of the hotel was excellent, the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was more than expected. There was plenty of room and there was very little noise from the main road and other guests which is always something that usually bothers me in hotels. I had a great night sleep except for the drilling noise from the adjacent building that started at 8am. This wasn't the hotel's fault and they did give us prior warning so it wasn't such a hardship. Overall a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. 06 October 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just ok I have stayed in a great number of Holiday Inns during the past year or two and this was probably the worst of all, which is a shame as it really should be the Holiday Inn flagship. I have just put this experience down to it being a generic expensive hotel in central London with a very high customer throughput and very little customer service. (dont ask for anything and you will not be disappointed) The room was dirty and very tired, the bathroom covered in mildew above shoulder height and rather unpleasant. I was upgraded to an executive room on the 7th floor which was a good size for central London, huge flat screen tv, large bed. The room was huge, with a jacuzzi bath, the most enormous bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nearest tube station two minutes away which made all parts of London accessible. Worth a stay for a short break. All in all, great location, great staff, great food. Will diefinitely recommend and will be booking again. 27 September 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Very Poor room 345 - there were silver fish in the bathroom, which means warm damp conditions. in the restaurant for breakfast - the cup handle was broken and the cup almost landed in my lap, i waited over 10 mins for someone to bring me some tea - the pot that the lady used was very dirty and very stained - it does not give a good impression, the food at breakfast was very average to say the least. I have stayed at many hotels in london over the last year and this was by far the worst experience i have had, which is a shame because i have stayed at this hotel in the past and always enjoyed it. 27 September 2012

Quiet room, comfortable bed, slept well. Felt comfortable as a lone woman in the bar. Good breakfast apart from very strong, bitter coffee. Had extra hot water, but still not good. Always peeved that HI charge so much for internet service, which these days is as essential as a tv. I usually get a 1 gig SIM from 3 which is way cheaper. Excellent breakfasts. Nice meal for the family group in the restaurant - Nora was extremely accommodating when we decided to eat in the bar instead of the rather unattractive breakfast restaurant. 25 September 2012

The location was perfect for an afternoon and evening out all main attractions and great restuarants were within easy walking distance. The valet parking was great and all staff happy and helpful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Allen I had occasion to stay at Holiday Inn-Mayfair for six nights last month. Overall, the stay was quite enjoyable and would not hesitate to use this inn on my next trip. First, the location of the inn is fabulous. Located on a street just off Picadilly, the underground, Green Park, Buckingham Palace and various shops and restaurants are just a short stroll from the hotel. While I did not use the restaurant, there was a nice, attached bar to have a cocktail. The server(s) were hospitable and prompt. All of the staff that I met at the hotel were attentive to any need a person may have. Additionally, the room was quite comfortable and well maintained. My British friends, indicated that they never knew this Holiday Inn was there and they were impressed by its location and value. I like to go to London once a year. This Holiday Inn will be my first choice for future visits. 16 September 2012
