Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A nearly perfect family stay! I was able to organise a 3 night stay in two rooms with full English breakfast, we were kindly upgraded to better rooms adjoining. The Reception is bright and friendly, and very professional, we were able to leave all luggage and head off out as we were early. Our rooms....facing the quieter but less picaresque back of the Hotel, were clean and decorated to a very good standard, with excellent cotton bedding and clean pillows, a must for me! The bathrooms were bright and airy, with quick to fill baths, though the shower was disappointingly lacklustre. Our beds looked comfortable but the mattress on ours was a little bit saggy, which some people might prefer. Room service was efficient. Housekeeping quick to bring extra tea and coffee as requested, cleaning was to a good standard, but our carpet in one place was a little bit stained, and the table was a little dusty. Overall, not worth moaning about though. Safes in the room were reassuring, but beware the mini bar...we were alarmed to find it per stocked, with a sensor which automatically charges your account when anything is moved...as we found when we attempted to place our wine in there and found our easy to access room bill, on the tv, showed we owed nearly £50 !!! Reception amended this, and sent us a fruit basket as apology for the upset! Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked food, pancakes, very good coffee, and very friendly staff...a credit to the Hotel, particularly Monika and Brian....many thanks to them. We did dine in the restaurant one evening. A little pricy, but the food was good. The Bar in the Hotel was very expensive, and rather disappointing as we couldn't then sit as a family and enjoy a drink at the end of the day..shame. Checkout was efficient and good. The Porters were friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, around the corner from Green street tube station, almost at the Ritz, and opposite the park for attractions...very well placed! My only dislike of this Hotel was that there is no free wifi. With 3 children desperate to use their blackberry s, and myself my iPad, I was cross to find it would cost £16 per day for 2 devices, or £30 for 2 for our stay....with everyone fighting to use the two free pcs in the lounge, I found this unsatisfactory. I grade this as a 4 out of five for our stay, but for the expensive bar and wifi, I wouldn't have hesitated to offer a 5. We had a lovely stay though, better to have the above....if this was amended I would love to stay again.... 07 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Overnight stay Thank you for upgrading us to an Executive Room, much appreciated and very comfortable. Room very good, clean, well equipped and well appointed. Reception desk service and concerierge very good as per normal (we stay at this hotel regularly) Breakfast experiece not good, reported to manager of the resturant. We were placed at a table by bread counter, continous hassle as people queued around bread counter knocking into us throughout. Aisles between tables not wide enough, therefore if not attacked by bread queue people, we were disturbed by people walking past our table both sides. Awful experience and for £16.50 each far from good value for money. Holiday Inn you need to sort this out quickly, otherwise we won't be eating there again. By the way, please provide a tea-pot that fills 2 mugs, not one that fils one and a bit mugs. Apart from breakfast a great experience as normal. 07 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another relaxing break We have stopped over, and also spent a few days at his Holiday Inn and find the staff are to be commended, from the reception to the concierge who directed us once again on the best way to get around. Our arrival was greeted with a smile and recognition of PC status. The room we were given was excellent and breakfast staff and selection were well in keeping with a hotel of this level. Thank you once again and without singling out any particular team member, once more this hotel is to be commended. 04 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous stay Myself and my husband stayed here on the 26th and 27th of July. The hotel is only 2 minutes from Green Park station which is ideal for exploring London. We were upgraded to an executive room in the 7th floor as my husband is a platinum member of their loyalty scheme. Our room had a lovely view of the Ritz and Green Park. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom . The mini bar was a godsend when I awoke thirsty through the night. Great air conditioning which was needed as it was very hot that weekend. All of the staff from reception, concierge and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly. We didn't use the restaurant or bar so I can't comment on them . I would definitely return to this hotel and would defiantly recommend . 04 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Stayed last week at the Holiday Inn Mayfair as we have stayed in a Holiday Inn in other locations within the UK and Europe. Chose this one due to its central location which was great as we could walk where we wanted to go. Overall the hotel was good, the best bit about it was the staff who were very courteous and friendly at all times. The only thing that let the hotel down was attention to detail in the room, especially in the bathroom where it just needs to be cleaned/ freshened up especially around the bath/shower area ! Also would suggest perhaps for there reward guests that they give either a free room upgrade or a bottle of wine as we have had in other Holiday Inn's . 30 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect! We stayed in the hotel on Friday the 26th and checked out on Sunday the 28th! The area of the hotel is amazing you have Starbucks across the road, boots on the corner, bus stop 1 minute away and the tube also a minute away. A 10 minute walk to Buckingham palace, it was perfect. The rooms where all clean and the bed were very comfortable. All the staff were so lovely and kind and helpful which made our stay even better. We are looking forward to coming to London again soon and staying the same hotel! I would defiantly recommend it to my friends & family! Thanks Holiday inn! 29 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place, super convenient location. Our first time at HI Mayfair. We chose it because of A/C and were we glad. London Temp hit 90 deg. F (32 deg. C). Room was very nice and super comfortable. Centeral areas were not very well A/C but livable. Location is nice. Taxi's form rank outside hotel, Underground around corner (Green Park station) and Piccadilly Circus or Leister Square are easy walks. The internet access is VERY expensive. L 16 per day for 2 devices. Rate goes down to L 30 for 3 days. But two people with 2 devices each can run up a L 32 per day bill just for internet which should be a free or much lower cost service. However, the internet service was very good but poor value. We needed to add a room at the beginning of our 4 day visit. The staff were very reasonable about this addition. Gave us a fair price and two nice rooms. 28 July 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good with a single but... This is an excellent hotel, well located in the centre of London that I have used on a number of occasions. The cost is in line with its location and other hotels in the area. The Concierge staff in particular I find excellent. The rooms are a little small but this is to be expected for the area. The double glazing blocks most of the traffic noise and allowed me to work. The only note of negativity is the check in staff, on the last three occasions I have stayed there I have on each occasion found them off hand and borderline rude. I heard an American visitor being spoken to like she was a child because she did not understand their credit card machine. Some training required I feel. That aside this is a hotel I reccomend and will use again. 24 July 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A bad experience Unfortunately when we stayed here for two nights our room was not cleaned and the A/c was not working, we spoke to the reception at 18.30 about this problem and was assured that it would sorted out, when we arrived back at the hotel at 22.00 there was a fan in the room but it had still not been cleaned, we spoke to the duty manager and he said all housekeeping staff had gone home and he could not do anything about it, he was understanding and we managed to get clean towels, but not good when you are paying 260.00 per night. 20 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Perfect Perfect My sister, Mother and I came to London for a girl’s weekend; we chose the hotel for its location and what appeared to be good service......... Well we could not have chosen better!! PERFECT ....the location is second to none Green park the Mall and Buckingham palace on your door step, the tube station a few steps away nothing is more than a couple of stops on the tube away from the hotel it is wonderful and so easy to access all of London from. The hotel its self is also PERFECT wonderful welcoming staff at reception, the room was a good size and had everything we needed the bathroom was great and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel again the restaurant and bar staff where PERFECT, happy chatty and attentive, the food at dinner was of the best quality and tasted amazing nothing was too much hassel for the staff when we asked for extra items and non-menu things a lovely dinner all round, and breakfast was everything you needed to set yourself up for you day in town again PERFECT. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A re-visit and a disappointing one - alas I have stayed at this Holiday Inn before and though its location is undoubtedly excellent, the same cannot be said for the attitude of the hotel staff or the state and condition of the room I was given. Normally when staying in a hotel (and I regularly stay in 4* and 5* hotels at my own expense) I am happy to give feedback to the staff during and at the end of my visit, however at this Holiday Inn at no point during my visit or on checking out did any member of the hotel team show or expres the slightest interest in how I was or if I was happy with the hotel room/facilities. For the record, the furniture in the room was dirty and some of the chair seats were stained and the bathroom was in need of updating and a thorough clean. For the rate charged by Holiday Inn, I would expect a far more superior experience and a less worn and dated interior to the hotel's public areas and room. There are other hotels I use in Central London that are less expensive, similarly price and in some cases a little bit more expensive, all of which offer a considerably more pleasant and special experience. I will not be returning to this hotel or probably to any others within the group. What a disappointing visit. 17 July 2013

We ended up eating in the hotel restaurant for the convenience and the good food which offered value for money. We would recommend the hotel and would return if we need to be in central London again. 15 July 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, not good accommodation The staff did not all speak or understand english. The aircon did not work and it was hot outside. When we complained, we came back to the room and found a small fan. We could not accept that as our 10 year old is epileptic and cannot take the heat. The manager that then helped us was very helpful and moved us to another room. We then could not lock our passports away as the safe did not work. When we mentioned it at check out, we were told they know about the issues, and that it will be attended to later 15 July 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by he Worst Experience in a very long time I had stayed in this hotel 15 years ago and on entering our room realised that nothing had changed except that everything in it was 20 years older and, like myself, had not improved with age. For what was a shockingly expensive rate this was an apalling room. Old furniture, battered and broken in places. The bathroom was extremely tired and really rather dirty and in places I did not want to look too closely at what was there. Breakfast was really very poor with the coffee really undrinkable and actually in a blind tasting you would be hard pressed to know what it was such was the total absence of flavour and the b the breakfast foodstuffs the cheapest of the cheap catering quality. You enter the breakfast room where you stand by a podium with cards on it staff pass back and forth make no eye contact or offer assistance and a queue just builds up while people wait to be divinely inspired as to what to do. UNBELIEVABLE. This was a very poor experience in a hotel which feels as if not a penny has been invested in it in recent years and which seems to be trading on its location to justify unbelievably high prices for a very poor "executive room". Old and tired I could almost accept even if not happy but the obvious dirt was too much and if that was the case front of house then I dread to think what it must be like behind the scenes. A very poor advertisement for London hotels and I heard some very negative comments in the breakfast room from other guests on the next morning. Our advice....Dont stay there. No hotel should be allowed to function at these prices for this level of quality and no hotel manager who oversees this should keep his/her job for very long. Always busy but never congested with helpful and knowledgable staff on the front desk, it is the perfect location from which to enjoy Central London. 10 July 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty broken toilet seat. Busted air conditioner. Window to street doesn't close. Great location but otherwise not much else. Was until recently a platinum members but this one is a standout disappointment. Greeted me at check-in as "We welcome you as priority club member" but it was clear to us that our group was nothing special. Asked for daily newspaper although after asking 2 mornings in a row, we decided we weren't going to get it. At least it was free as news papers is one of the few perks of being a member. The toilet seat was broken at checkin with "matter" stuck on it. 2 out of the 3 lamps in the room did not work. The window to the street is double glazed to cut down noise but it doesn't close so is basically useless. Lucky we needed to leave it part open as the air conditioner didn't work so the room got very hot. 08 July 2013

Especially the concierge staff, I asked the direction to the concierge staff, in the middle the conversation the other concierge staff asked the staff to discuss something with him in they local language, I must waiting quit long. The other case, I asked them to check the transportation to one shopping destination, The Concierge answered me: The place don't have a phone number Sir, we can not call them. (In the brochure there is a website address they can check). I don't really get it, Is it impossible to call the information number to check? Is is Holiday Inn Service Standards? 02 July 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Mayfair - Continuing Poor Service Issues Although the concierge and bar staff continue to be excellent the reception staff and processes are getting worse. I am a Platinum member and arrived early in the morning of my stay, registered and was told my room would be ready later. When I came back there was no record of my registration. They then sent me to a room already occupied. They then sent me to a room without all the Platinum member details I usually get. They did not offer me the Platinum Club points ticket. I had to ask on checkout.They also forgot my newspaper. Last week the air conditioning didn't work. The hotel is getting old and tired (though I believe there is a makeover in plan)... some of the staff need a refresh too!!! Not happy :-( 30 June 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location but outdated We chose this hotel because of the location and they have room with two full size beds. It is easy to take the Piccadilly line from Heathrow and get off at Green Park Station and then a short walk to the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Besides these good points, the hotel is very outdated. We stay at room 528. The door frame has a big crack that looks like someone had kick it open before and they just patch it up. The door is secure but the repair work look very shabby. The beds are very comfortable but the furniture are very outdated. The room is clean but the carpet is old and stained. The bathroom is very small and have no counter space or shelves to put your toiletries. They should at least put a towel bar by the sink to hang the hand towel. The most ridiculous thing is the sink faucets. At the sink, there is a separate faucet for hot water and a faucet for cold water. That means you either fill the sink with hot and cold water so you can have warm water or just use the cold water faucet. The whole layout of the bathroom is just extremely inconvenient. 29 June 2013

This time our demand was not even considered, although the apply was made a month ahead. This time we paid more for a room without breakfast as the years before for a better room with breakfast included. This was all same period of the year. We will consider another hotel next visit in autumn. 25 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff service and location, good 4 star London Hotel I usually stay at the Holiday inn at Russell Square, but decided to try this end of Town for two recent stays, and was not dissapointed. I rated the Hotel a reasonable 4 star rating by international standards but I would increase this to good when compared to usual London standards. I found the location and the management and front desk staff excellent. A test of any hotel, is their ability and attitute when you need a special request or when things go wrong, and I have to say the HI mayfair, far exceeded my expectations.. The Hotel while not perfect was comfortable with quite nicely furnished rooms of a reasonable size and was fairly quiet, for a main city Hotel. The bathrooms need an update but were clean an adequate. I find the breakfasts in any hotel that offers a buffet, pretty average, but the buffet presented here was surprisingly good, with the quality of food better than many 5 star Hotels. An above average European Holiday Inn experience, and with a little bit of an ongoing upgrade in decor and bathrooms (and free wifi) I would rate this as a top choice for a London 4 star Hotel. 23 June 2013
