Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Coldra - The REAL Experience Any comments that I have made previously about this hotel I fully retract and apologise for wholeheartedly to the hotel staff. My original review was meant for another hotel. The staff are very welcoming and happy to assist, despite being met with numerous address changes at check-in. They happily arranged for taxis and offered to help us with restaurant bookings. Bathrooms look as if they've been recently refurbished and free wifi is provided, which is a must these days for the business traveller. Breakfast was well presented and the food excellent. I will definitely be staying here again, and recommend you do! 17 December 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Becoming the norm to overcharge? Twice I have stayed at this hotel, and twice now I have been overcharged to a total of £275. I am a Rewards Club member and would never stay here again. When I had the audacity to complain that I had been overcharged, I was treated with utter contempt on both occasions. There are plenty of other Holiday Inns in the area, I recommend that you stay at one of those. 12 December 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Xmas Party Night! We booked a Xmas Party Night with accommodation and were pleasantly surprised with the entertainment, food and room. The party was great and the food tasty and hot (normally at these parties you are lucky to have the food served barely warm!). The staff at the hotel were very friendly and our room was clean, and quiet. The breakfast in the morning was varied and plentiful. All in all, a very enjoyable stay - Well Done! 10 December 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and excellent service I had to work very late so consequently was very thirsty, hungry and tired when I arrived here. The staff were excellent in arranging food and drink around midnight and ensuring I was satisfied with everything before I retired to my room. The room was warm and the bed so comfortable I was out like a light in no time. Showered and refreshed the next morning after a hearty breakfast I was ready to face the world again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect view from the room with a lot of green My wife and I had come to Wale on a weekend trip with friends. We were pleased with our stay and felt that in many ways we were looked after. The bar staff and the restaurant staff were excellent. On check in I did not feel the welcome. I took out my ihg card thinking it would make trigger the excellent service I am accustomed to in a Holiday Inn or make some difference but the staff appeared preoccupied by something else. I was not offered a choice of points or a drink and neither was I offered a newspaper let alone a choice. We were not happy with the same staff manning the check out desk. They now had another members of staff and carried on talking to each other whilst I waited to check out. I honestly would have not minded if they had done this in the office away from view. When one of them decided to serve me it took literally less than a minute and this was done with no niceties. I am sure this can easily be rectified and its not like there was a rush. It was only me waiting to check out. 04 December 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Experience The Holiday Inn at The Coldra Newport represents good value for money. The only disappointment was the approach to the Main Entrance which looks very bland and uninteresting. No other concerns. 01 December 2014
