Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joyfully Very pleasent cheerful staff
Working in a hotel Christmas night is not everyones idea of fun, the staff on duty christmas night and boxing day could not have been happier towards us. They were cheerful, helpful and made the stay most enjoyable, I have no problem with giving them my thanks and top recommendation. I would normally only give a good as there is always room for improvement, not in this case every aspect of our stay was EXCELLENT. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL THANK-YOU

Warm and comfortable great view also.
Lack of facilities at hotel and not much atmosphere in the bar area being New Year's Eve. But overall the hotel was clean warm and it's location was perfect to wake up to the new year looking at the mighty Carrow road pitch

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Joosty69 Don't ask how was your stay if not prepared for a negative response.
I am 6ft6 and weigh 135 kilos. So when I book an executive room I expect maybe a bit more than a standard room. Your beds are uncomfortable and they are certainly at stage I would call worse for wear. You turn and they squeak.
We were up at 730 and the asked by reception did we enjoy our stay.
Our response was no. Holiday inn teams response was oh sorry can I have credit card please.
I am in the service industry as well. And I train my team do no ask that question unless you are prepared to deal with the answer good or bad.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cornwall Canary Superb, as usual.
We are Canary supporters living in Cornwall. We make the trip around every 6-8 weeks or whenever we can get tickets (which is very rare nowadays). Shirley's birthday is Jan 1st so we always try to arrange a visit around this time and always stay at the Holiday Inn adjoining the ground. It so happened that the game nearest to 28th was against Man Utd so no hope of getting a ticket. We had earned a free night by using the Priority Club Black Visa throughout the year so booked a room with a pitch view. Having been used to enjoying the games from the stands I was very apprehensive about watching it from a hotel room, however, I needn't have worried. Excellent view and with the window slightly open we could sense the atmosphere and hear the banter between the Barclay and the Man U fans. As usual the stay was superb with the usual special attention from the staff. With Kelly in the restaurant, Karem behind the bar and the very special Alburn, we were made to feel part of the family. It's good to be recognised and made to feel welcome every time we go there.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dolly21 very comfortable room ,great week end.
My sister and I stayed when we visited Norwich on a pre Christmas visit to see family.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and very comfortable. We were very impressed with the breakfast and service on both days.
An added bonus was the limited view of the football ground as my husband and sons have been supporters of Norwich for years.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simmo1 Clean, big room
Check-in was good, very helpful woman, very informative when I asked for directions and local restaurants.
Rooms were big and clean, had a view of the pitch, great if you support Norwich city :)
Only gripes, staff appeared adverse to picking up the phone when dialling internally down to reception. Attempted three times over two days, not once did anyone pick up the phone and it rung out - the final time I walked downstairs straight afterwards and spoke to the reception staff (neither was with anyone?!) The phone rung when I was there and both just left it - enquired whether they wanted to answer and they said it's ok -- bizarre?!
The other point, was had to get up early to do some work, wireless didn't work at 0530 in the morning, looked like it was switched off asked at reception - woman had no idea. Pleasant enough people though :) thanks - Would stay again

We stayed on a Friday night and were given a room overlooking the pitch.
Hotel was clean, had great decor and friendly staff.
The reward club treats were appreciated.
Breakfast was good, only very small negative was the small tea pots.
I would book to stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by footballfan66 Third Stay.
Booked online well in advance for our third stay here. Got a bonus of a fantastic pitch view for two nights and breakfast. Didn't disappoint as usual, the staff were great. The only thing I'd like is free wi-if in the room rather than just the lobby.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Colin56 Good room, pity about the food
This is a good hotel let down by the kitchen department. My room was spacious, well appointed and good value. The car park is adjacent - although not easy to locate on a dark night - some illuminated signs would be a good idea. The additional charge of £4.95 left a sour taste in the mouth. However, the food is not great: spatchcock chicken was dry and tasteless - and the bird itself decidedly undernourished, so not a lot to eat. The coleslaw accompaniment was tiny - mean to the point of miserliness. Breakfast was not much better - two poached eggs came hard rather than runny. Toast had to go through the machine twice. My recommendation - stagy here by a lll means, but arrive in time to eat elsewhere!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hugh123 Surprisingly good for a 'chain' hotel!
Staying here was an exceptionally easy experience from the moment I checked in. A parking space right outside the main entrance; speedy check-in; an efficient lift whisking me to room 512 on the 5th floor. A good size room benefitting from the wedge shape of the curve in the building, so lots of space..... and incredibly quiet. But the breakfast was the absolute highlight - well cooked, excellent selection, and eat as much as you like. The pre-paid £10 charge for breakfast was incredible value. I really can't fault this hotel in any way.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DBoy101 Good location…Norwich
Great breakfast staff very helpful room had very good view of football pitch we watched the youth game from our bedroom window. Didn't read the hotel info properly - thought it had a pool but it didn't. While there was access to the leisure centre across the road the timings for children swimming were restrictive and it was not as relaxing as using a hotel pool i.e. swim before breakfast. As such, I personally felt that the hotel felt expensive even though it was clean and functional. Internal space felt small and the lounging around areas not extensive. Dare I say it had a holiday inn express feel to it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Haze13 Everthing was excellent!
The hotel was excellent. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Although there was a very large party already dining, service was still quick and the quality of food was great. Would definitely stay here again if we need accomodation in Norwich.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bubbles120 No to the executive room
We had an executive suit but I would not do this next time as it was pointless the extra room had table and chairs which where fine. A settee was very un comfy. The TV was in the bed room.
The bedroom was very nice, the bar and staff was very nice.
We thought £20 for breakfast was a bit much when you have a supermarket a cross the road.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Roka One Of The Best Holiday Inns
Stayed overnight on a Saturday in Sep 2013. Had a reasonable view of the football pitch from our 1st floor room (there was no match on this w/e), but recommend 4th floor or higher if you are booking and watch to watch a game. Do request this view if that's what you need, think they add a £50 tariff on match days tho.
Room was large and well equipped for our needs. Bathrooms similarly new looking and tidy, although the shower hose was not up to standard and basically trickled out - we reported this problem to reception staff.
Book 21 days or more before you intend going and look out for deals where breakfast is included, will save you £15 each! Breakfast was well stocked and plenty of it! Suitable for any and all tastes.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, well done to them.
Additional note re Norwich, allow ONE HOUR for taxi bookings during busy periods, especially night time!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mnmember No Hot water
During my stay I reported an issue with no hot water. They said this was the ONLYroom - I didn't believe this. I come to find out the next morning it was not just me.
I told the receptionist of the problem on checking out - she promised a call from their manager, this was Thursday and after 4 days nothing.
No point having a great hotel if the basics don't work and they do not follow up issues.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BusinessTravel1990 No WiFi? Really?
Really?!? No WiFi in the rooms? Poor WiFi in the Lobby? Paid ethernet connection in your room.... that incidentally will not connect to Windows 7 Enterprise.
The hotel is fine. The food is fine. The people really were very nice. The location is quite convenient. So without the circumstance of required business travel the hotel would be nearly fine. In this day and age the lack of a WiFi signal is contemptuous enough. To ask for payment to use a wired connection is just plain insulting. Please enter the 21st century with the rest of us. Even non business travelers are are equipped with a smart phone or tablet that would use a WiFi signal.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by travelling3 Brilliant view of football ground
A one night stay so not a thorough review. Didn't have breakfast nor room service so can't comment on food. My room overlooked Carrow Road, home ground of the Canaries - such a pity they were playing away!! I found the staff I spoke to very friendly and willing to help - loads of smiles, too. The only downside - which I'm sure would have been dealt with immediately had I asked for help - was that I found the air-conditioning/heating panel difficult to work as I couldn't see any instructions. Other hotels in which I've stayed have them situated just above the panel. There's a big supermarket and a parade of shops within a couple of minutes walk and the city centre can be walked to within 15 minutes. Would most definitely stay here again.

On arrival Friday afternoon I found a efficient reception and within 10 minutes I was in my room. During my stay the staff where efficient, professional and helpful beyond expectations. The food was very good, I had a steak well done and it was juicy and the right texture. the room staff where very efficient and the room comfortable and clean.
