This Holiday Inn is definitely upscale--more like a higher end American chain brand. New and beautifully decorated. Very busy and crowded during our stay. No recognition of Spire status; I mentioned it when I checked in, and then he offered 1 free beer/wine or points. Food was good (lunch). Disappointed the one night we wanted to eat dinner there, the restaurant was closed for a private function. Ate in the bar, limited menu, bar atmosphere (definitely a playground for unencumbered men). Not that the hotel can change this, but wish it wasn't located so close to the redlight district. Nice garden terrace with tables and chairs for smokers, but look up and you can see the working women leaning out of the windows in the surrounding building. Just a caution to be careful if you bring kids.

The rooms were very clean but the decor needs to be updated.
I travel often and a good exersize room is important to me. Thre exersize room was outdated with old weight machine. Would be nice to have something a little more modern.
