The rooms are very comfortable except for the single beds...they are really only for children and I wish they were not offered to adults. However this is a great hotel and very professional staff. This will definitely be my hotel in Paris. 17 November 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely poor service and treatment I asked the staff how much it would cost and what the most efficient manner of reaching the airport was. We were already running behind schedule and I made it abundantly clear I was under pressure to reach the airport as soon as possible. Within the space of 12 hrs I was told three different fares - E50, then E60, then ultimately was forced to pay the cab driver the staff had ordered a huge E70 at the airport. I have never, anywhere in the world on my extensive travels paid such an extortionate fare - including executive cars in Switzerland - for such a short 30 min journey. The staff asked me whether I will pay by cash or credit card when booking the taxi. I was on the phone on a critical business call so i asked my wife to field the question. She conveyed that we would definitely pay by credit card. At absolutely no point in time did they bother to tell me there was a massive E5 surcharge for using a credit card. Further, I was told the cab would turn up within 10 mins. I waited more than 20. It was simply unacceptable. I saw at least 5 available taxis pass by the hotel during that period. Why on earth did the staff not flag one down or have someone outside to do this? There was clearly some familiarity between the cab driver and staff who promptly greeted who i assume was the concierge on arrival. I have asked IHG customer service for immediate clarification as to whether i was gouged based on what very clearly appears to be a commission-based relationship between staff at the IHG Opera hotel and this cab driver. My wife and I were nothing but courteous and patient with the staff. We did not deserve this treatment and its certainly unbelievable in the context of our IHG Gold status. 02 November 2014
