Things have changed a bit since I last stayed last year, the new reception area is looking good, nice and clean. Yes the painters were still there early sunday morning however they didn't get in your way. The car park spaces are a bit small and as others have said the corners are a bit tight. Rooms are still looking in need of a make over, however I understand this will be taking place next year. Room over all was ok. The view from the restaurant is stunning, can't say the same for the food though, cold and not very appetizing, even the coffee wasn't very nice. Staff were really friendly. Hopefully the rooms when done up will make this a better place to stay.

Have used this hotel on several occasions and would do so in the future.
Our latest visit was not so enjoyable due to the building works which were in progress and causing considerable disruption in the foyer and around the lifts and this is the main reason for down grading this particular visit.
The menu choice for Dinner was particularly disappointing compared with our previous visit and as it remains the same each night we ended up eating out at the pub next door which had a fantastic choice of god old English dishes.

With reference to your refurbishment could you please explain why you have not put a walk in shower in the accessible room
This room was not up to what should be available for disabled people
I await your comments on this matter

The hotel was disappointing. Presently it’s undergoing refurbishment. I arrived to find the lift from the sub-basement car park not working, the reception area very noisy with workmen, and extremely dusty. At reception I was not recognised as a member, gold or otherwise , the staff looked fed up and obviously irritated with the mess all over their desk area. I was asked to pay in full upfront, which is a defiantly a big no no for me, especially as a club member. Eventually they gave me a room on the seventh floor, although the room was big and clean, it and the bathroom were really dated, and the window rattled with the wind all night. Due to the welcoming mess in reception I changed my arrangements and met my colleagues away from the hotel, so can't comment on the bar or restaurant.
In the morning I booked out and was charged £3.00 extra for parking. However don’t park in the underground car park if you have a big car, the turning room can be challenging, and if the scrapes on the walls are anything to go by, lots don’t succeed in exiting unscathed!
This was the most I have paid for a room only, this year with Holiday Inn, I expect more for an early booking, and I also would have liked to have been told I was staying in a hotel undergoing major refurbishment.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Aussie traveller 7 Nice hotel- not so nice parking !
This hotel was in a great spot, we were happy with our stay. Only downside was the tight parking underneath. At one stage I had to do an 8 point turn just to get around a corner in the car park ! Although this was in part due to a poorly parked car, the actual car spaces were ridiculously tight.

The Hotel is in a supreme location for Plymouth City Centre , the Hoe and the Barbican BUT it is tired and attention to detail is lacking.
The rooms are in need of a makeover as I have stayed in better B
