Dead bird hanging from a string in one of the trees out front (along the path to the main entrance), previous occupants food stuffs and personally identifying papers still within the room (multiple counters had drink containers). Everything else was fine. Dark enough, cool enough, front staff was very friendly through our brief interraction.

Great Hotel I stay at when I travel in town every couple weeks. Staff is friendly and rooms are sufficient for relaxing and/or business connectivity. I would recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Minders820 Nice property
The room was rather large and very clean. The hot tub did not bubble up as much as expected. There were several tour buses in the parking lot, which had a decent amount of people in the bar area that were VERY loud. If the staff would have asked them to quiet down a bit, I would have rated the stay better. We didn't realize that the fridge in the room did not work until the next morning as it was pretty late when we checked in. Very nice staff. Would still recommend.

The staff was excellent. Again ridiculous price for no breakfast even included.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WedgieTwo A nice, new find with some flaws
This hotel is located in a convenient spot in Round Rock, right off of I-35. Being fairly new, most amenities were in tip-top shape, but in some spots, they weren't.
The lone negative thing in our room was an alarm clock with a short in it. Static would randomly come out, no matter the volume, so we unplugged it. In the gym, the exercise bike was brutally destroyed. Not sure who got a hold of that.
The room itself was quite comfortable with excellent beds and pillows. For a basic, two-queen room, most everything was what you would expect out of a Holiday Inn property. The pool was warm and most every location was clean.
There are two parts to the staff. The front desk and housekeeping staff was excellent. Always there with a hello and friendly as can be. The restaurant/bar staff was peculiar to say the least and the total opposite of the front desk. No one seemed interested in you at breakfast. The bartender at night was more interested in the TV.
I will still recommend this location, but for any food/drink needs, you do have quite a few other options in a relatively short distance from the front door.

consistency in a chain is a good thing, whether it be restaurant or hotel.
the only issue is that, as with most hotel chains these days, the beds are too hard... but not everyone likes a soft bed.
