Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a pleasant experience At first we were very impressed as hotel staff was very nice and lobby was warm and inviting. They even gave us little gift bags with water and snacks for being rewards members. Our first night wasn't too bad but I did notice a few ants crawling around on the AC unit. Didn't think much of it until we got back to hotel the next day. We had two connecting rooms and had placed all of our snacks (for our family of 7 that we used during road trip and planned to use in way home as well) placed on a desk in one of the rooms. When we got back to hotel after a full day our snacks were covered in ants!! We then found more ants in bathroom and in the second room as well. We had to call 3 times and tell them we had young kids that needed to get to bed editor someone finally showed up. The lady on phone said when it rains they have a problem with ants yet the lady that showed up said they never have ant problems. The lady that came to check out ant problem had a bottle that wasn't labeled and proceeded to spray it on any live ants in bathroom, on walls, and on desk. I had to ask her 3 times what she was spraying in which she finally said "insect spray". I asked if it was safe then for my family as it was being sprayed on the desk surface and floors that my family would come in contact with and she said yes it was safe but yet it didn't smell like insect spray and she wouldn't tell me the name of it. We had to throw out all our snacks and next morning we found more ants. They never offered to move us rooms and all we got was an apology and had to spend money to purchase more snacks for trip home. Our other huge issue was with parking. They charge $40.00 to park but failed to mention another $5.75 charch for parking. On our second night there was zero parking spots. After driving around for 30 minutes we went to go in and complain and as I was waiting my husband text me to say he finally saw someone leaving and was able to get a spot. I do have to say that Holiday inn did refund our parking fees and apologized so that was at least good. I really wish they would have handled the ant situation better and that whole situation just put a sour taste in our mouths. For sure won't be staying in this hotel again! 24 December 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel on he wharf If you are looking for a great hotel, close to the wharf I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn. It has all the amenities you could ask for, staffed by very nice people who are willing to help in any way the can. The rooms are nice and the beds comfortable. I have stayed at many hotels on the wharf and this happens to be one of the best. I do not believe you will be disappointed. 18 December 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Focused on Leisure Travellers The hotel in general seemed more focused on the leisure traveller and serving tour busses than business traveler (not unexpected given the tourist location). Checkin and checkout took longer than expected and was less efficient than I would hope. I got "upgraded" from a room with a king bed to an equivalent room with double beds for some reason. The room was fairly average for the area. There was a storm which caused an extended power outage during my stay. The staff did an excellent job during a trying time, but the facilities were not as well prepared for this situation as I would expect. Halls and stairways were dark with minimal lighting. There was no backup generator to power elevators or emergency lighting. These were things which were more inconveniences than anything but the sound of the backup generator right outside my room for the hotel next door was a constant reminder. 16 December 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Get Stuck Here In A Storm! I visited this property December 10 and 11, 2014. San Francisco experienced a severe weather event which resulted in a significant power outage which included the Holiday Inn. The property has long hallways with no outside light. During the power outage, the hallways had what I would consider to be woefully inadequate emergency lighting. You could barely see more than 15 - 20 feet in a hallway that spanned more than 200 feet. This was dangerous and completely unacceptable. 15 December 2014
