Bar not stocked with basics Breakfast badly cooked and sausages were just reheated and the poached eggs tasted only of vinegar the rooms are seriously dated I have to say I like staying at IHG hotels as a rule but this one is a no go!! 07 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavenly pillows and fabulous breakfast My husband and i had one overnight stay and were pleased to see that standards had not dropped. We had an excellent nigh's sleep and were greeted next morning by helpful, friendly staff and a super choice of breakfasts. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NEW YEAR SHAMBLES I do not know where to start from body hair in bath to shower not working. Bar with no staff or drinks in hotel reception. Function room bar with no draught beers, only one member of staff behind bar. No seating plan for dinner and not enough tables set out at a function that was pre booked and paid for, not enought food some people having chips as their main course. Those that did get meat could not eat it as over cooked and dry because dinner was late due to the fact staff having to get more tables out and set them up. The only thing that saved the night was the hard working staff and the brilliant DJ. Breakfast was no better as the receptionist had to cook breakfast as chef did not turn up to work my husband brought out more bacon from kitchen to help the 2 members of staff expected to feed at least 70 people. We also noticed a few undesirable people about the front, is this a hotel or a halfway house? With all this and not a member of the management team on site or able to be contacted!!! 05 January 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice stay The hotel was clean and the staff caring about you, pleasant and efficient. The room was comfortable, warm and clean. However the bar was not brilliant I asked for a draft pint which was not available because the barrel needed changing. I opted for a bottle of Speckled Hen which was not in the fridge and very warm. The bar seemed to have been a cupboard at one time very cramped for staff and not a great display of wines or beers. 04 January 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice sized room and good breakfast the room did not feel like you where in shoe box,with a large comfortable bed, clean bathroom,tea or coffee,I could relax before my night out.On waking in the morning,it was good to start the day with a hearty buffet style breakfast in the restaurant,before going on my way. 18 December 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by An adequate Business stopover hotel Hotel was OK, but the food service was poor. Menu was a scruffy piece of paper and too many dishes were not available. Food quality was poor. I will almost certainly stay there again, but I will not be dining there. 15 December 2014
