Everyone from the bell boys, front desk and restaurant are very friendly and courteous.
The gym needs to be updated as some machines are frequently out of service.
Bar service closes too early (11:00 p.m. ) which is inconvenient for business meetings and cusotmer entertainment.

During 2013 I stayed on this hotel almost once a month and the experience is always great.
Location, quality of room, modern facilities are a plus because the greatest thing about this hotel is the staff. Every single individual are courteous and proactive making me fell like in home, special thanks to my friend Michael.

I have been to SDQ many times over the last few years but always stayed at the Intercontinental which is now the Crowne Plaza to earn Intercontinental stay credits. Since the brand changed I decided to stay at the Holiday Inn which I found to be a beautiful property. It is smaller but also newer and very chic. Urpi in the coffee was sweetheart, I enjoyed having a daily coffee there and also enjoyed the friendly reception by Urpi.

Continuous loud, ambient music in this hotel is tiresome. Management ignored two requests to turn down blaring music at pool when I was only one there. Nobody mentioned the motion sensor that shuts off power to room when you leave, ensuring the alarm will flash 12 continually and your presumably charging laptop and devices will be dead when you return. Printer wasn't working on checkout. Despite assurances, had to search for hotel's email and beg for invoice so I could expense. Invoice finally arrived days later and was someone else's. The folio indicated a charity contribution I was not asked to approve. Manager refused to remove it from my (I assume it's my?) bill. Someone else's name is on my receipt. Not worth the effort. I'll be staying elsewhere next time.

As platinum Ambassador I was upgraded to a great room with two exceptions: faced the street and windows not effective in cutting out street noise, and wireless internet service was very poor with poor connectivity and slow response time even though was on the upgraded package. Front desk staff were exceptional - best service I have experienced in the IHG hotel network this year and that includes the Intercontinentals that I frequently stay at. A good value and good location for my business activities, but really needs to improve upon wireless system as critical to my needs.

The staff and the service were disappointment.
Even that I had my corporate id rate on file they were not able to add my benefits. I had to provide a print screen of my corporate rate benefits (breakfast, upgrade, etc) because they didn't believe me.
Never will stay again. I recommend stay at Hilton.

The attitude toward each of their guests was excellent, special recognition to Platinum Members. I travel all around Latin America twice a year in most cases among the IHG hotels (When available IE: Brasilia, Nassau) and the service in Holiday Inn Santo Domingo is the best have ever seen, I specially recall the name of Julio, faster than Flash and always ready to take care of all my possible needs. I even got back an Armani sunglasses I dropped at the swimming pool area. I felt very welcome during my stay. Congratulations!

Hotel is fine, in a good area and it offers the needed services for somebody, like me, that goes to Santo Domingo for work. Room was adequate. Staff was generally very efficient and friendly. Some basics should be improved, e.g. conditioner in the bathroom, better hair dryer, breakfast included in the rate.

You can hear even casual conversations of adjoining rooms.
I could not go to sleep until 2:00 am due to all the chatter next door.

We are a small family and we needed a hotel that was the most centric possible in the city. Holiday Inn fulfills that requirement and more. Food can be expensive at the hotel so might want to try the many restaurants around the hotel. Pool its kind of small (On the roof) but the views from the top are beautiful. Overall it was a wonderful stay for us.

The Lobby is elegant, the staff was very welcoming and the service was excellent. I rate the restaurant and service excellent and the fresh fruits and juices served were delicious. However, I think they need a different menu and type of cooked food served for better flavors. I was disappointed with the manner of cooking the items on the menu and at the breakfast buffet. The choose-your-own omelet choices were bland, the pastries hard and dry, though the desserts were good.. I ended up eating the hard boiled eggs and toast with jam. Other than the food, everything about the hotel was outstanding. They were accommodating to get your taxi and give directions to the bank and anything else you can ask for.

This was without a doubt one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in for business purposes. The service was exemplary and the room was very comfortable and well appointed. This is a very modern and obviously well run hote (the staff knew and remembered my name from the first day- impressive). I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who needs to be centrally located.

Small hotel, although comfortable rooms, and gym, bar/rest. and terrace all convenient.
Best thing about it: Elias at breakfast that greets and welcomes you all mornings.
For the rest of it the staff is really nice!

I stayed for relaxing 4 nights on 8 floor in superior rooms, that includes, the use of wine-lounge room and breakfast, everyone from front desk staff to restaurant waiters were very friendly and accomodating, room services was great, I recommend the stay if in Santo Domingo on busines or leisure, just walking distance from major shops , businesses and few good restaurant, also Great for business meetings, but recomended to rent a car if you are going further into town, like E; Malecon and Zona Colonial were you can fine that the night life is great, sometime cab came be a bit expensive.

The staff were helpful and went the extra mile to insure we had the room we wanted. The room had some issues: The chair had a broken leg and the light in the bathroom did not work (was fixed the next day). We have been to the DR many times and these things are common. The breakfast buffet was great. Dinner was overpriced and low quality. Save your money. There are many great food places nearby.Good central location. Would stay there again.

I came into SDQ from Miami on a business trip and my company put me in this hotel. When I saw the name "Holiday Inn" I was so disappointed. Must to my surprise, this hotel was amazing!!! It looked like an expensive boutique hotel on South Beach. The room was a nice size, the bathroom was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. The only thing I had an issue with was the music they played in the hall was too loud at night, but as soon as I called the front desk, they lowered it. Overall great experience.
