Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by food poor and very expensive Hotel to my mind was a Holiday Inn express i.e. supposedly low budget with poor facilities. No pool or gym and overall experience not to be recommended. Had salad as part of evening meal, cost £12 (with a few pieces of grilled chicken) and it was presented in a small bowl - very disappointing. Waitress ran away as soon as she served it and I had no chance to ask for any sauces/vinegar. 26 October 2014

I was there for breakfast and evening meal. in the restaurant there was one lady in particular that brought a smile to my face every time I saw her. She was so helpful and always had a smile on her face. It as a joy to be waited on by this lady I only wish I could remember her name. 25 October 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A noisy old place Stopped here enroute from Glasgow to SE, just wanted a good sleep. Proximity to M6 and slip roads and the poor quality of the window glazing meant that we had traffic noise all night. Additionally, the external and bathroom doors to the rooms are oversprung and uncushioned, so movement of people in neighbouring rooms during the night is also quite noisy. This hotel might do well to take notice of the Goodnight Guarantee offered by the hotel across the roundabout. Very disappointing night. 23 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Things that could be added This holiday inn is wonderful and the staff helpful, I would of liked to have a stool in the bathroom for my younger son could of reached the sink as this is meant to be a family room and as dogs are aloud to stay it would be helpful to have dog poo bins outside for when we take them to toilet, 22 October 2014

The room was fine though rather cold when we arrived, but soon warmed up with the wall heater. The duty manager was really friendly and informative. We would happily stay here again. 21 October 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A change is as good as a rest The Hotel has recently changed hands and the difference is unbelievable. The food has improved 10 fold and the staff have a new spring in their steps. They cannot do enough to make you feel comfy and at home. The bed linen has been renewed and even the carpets have been cleaned. Looking forward to going back and seeing if anymore improvements have been made :-) 29 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel Travelled to Warrington for my sister in laws wedding along with my two daughters and their families The rooms were very nice and the staff put all of us near one another which made it easier when trying to get the children ready the next morning. Breakfast was very nice but was a bit annoyed as i was told it was 6.30am when i booked the rooms but it was actually 7.30am which put us back a bit for getting ready to get to the wedding ceromony for 10.00am 23 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A Relaxed Stay The hotel is ideally placed close to the M6 but not that close to be noisy. In fact it is quiet and comfortable. My only regret is that breakfast is spoiled by fried eggs left under heat lamps and becoming case hardened. I do wish they were cooked as required. 17 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Stay The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean, has wifi, and pretty decent TV coverage. I had a very comfortable stay. Only negative was having been out for dinner with a colleague I returned to find the bar very empty, mostly because there were no drinks on draft due to a fault. These things happen so i had a decent glass of wine back in my room and an enjoyable nughts sleep. 15 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel location shame about the pop concert The staff are excellent at this hotel and it offers a great location for surrounding towns and cities (Warrington, Liverpool and Manchester). However, on our visit the hotel was base for many guests attending the local pop concert. This resulted in a lot of mud throughout the hotel and beer cans and bottles left in the car park, bar and restaurant. However, the staff gave us a quiet room and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Certainly the breakfast was excellent but a little cold due to lack of early risers. The chef did come out to address the comment. The pancake machine was a pleasant surprise and the in-house movie selection varied, fairly priced and up to date. If I had one suggestion to give to the hotel it would be to update details about the area (its not just a stop off on the M6) and sell the fact that there is an excellent regular bus service to Manchester and Warrington situated 1 minute from the hotel. I'll certainly use this hotel as an overnight stay rather than going into Manchester. 01 September 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Could do better I am a regular at this hotel on business but there are a couple of things that need to improve: 1. Room Cleaniness - Bed sheets were stained when I visited! Staff did change them but it was something they should have noticed! 2. Food: Room Service is not up to scratch; everytime I have ordered something, it always comes wrong. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by home from home Another relaxing stay and extreamly warm welcome by the HI in Warrington!, the only thing the hotel lacks is a pool and fitness center. we always travel with pets and this hotel our dogs just relax immediately, other hotels they are nervous and unhappy. The staff were utterly superb with our animals, very friendly and always make an effort to fuss the mutts :) 28 August 2014

My only issue and this is nothing to do with the hotel - is leaving the grounds by car onto a busy dual carriageway, which is directly off of a very busy motorway junction can be a bit scary in busy traffic. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, quiet, very homely Enjoyed our stay and very good value, however the front desk staff were not very welcoming and didn't smile at all, it almost felt like the gentleman checking us in didn't want to be there. It seemed a chore what he was doing. The girl with him was of a similar demeanour. The room was fine but could have done with a couple more pictures up to make the room a little less clinical. Probably could have done with a bit of an update on furniture and decor A pleasant stay though and worth the money. 25 August 2014

They seemed to enjoy their job which makes a difference. Breakfast was good. Room clean. Internet. location great for exploring Chester, Liverpool or Manchester. To our delight, the present day staff are as great, cheerful, helpful and extremely efficient. The fabric of the building had been maintained magnificently, no mouldy ceilings, no battered skirting boards, no ripped carpets and everything was working. We will be back next year. 05 August 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bed not ngreat 1 - One night we accidentally dropped one of your glass tumblers in the bathroom, it didn't just break and shatter, it exploded and the bits went all over the place and shot up into the bath, the sink, our bathroom bags and we were finding bits in our clothing till the day we left. We stay here at least a couple of times a year to visit family who live near by and remember that you used to provide plastic tumblers, these may sound cheap but I feel they are much safer and just as effective for general use and clumsy customers like us (we are all clumsy occasionally). Your staff were willing enough on the night of the incident, but they could not easily provide me with a brush and broom and dust pan to let me clean up my mistake, they eventually located equipment, wanted to help, but I insisted it was an easy enough task for myself to clean up. 2 - My daughter also stayed in another room at the same time, we noticed that she had what I call a king size bed (5 foot wide), this is normal in all other hotels around the country/world we have stayed in over the years. In our room 007 (invalid facility room), you provide a standard (4 foot six inch wide)bed. My wife is the invalid (wheelchair bound) and I am the carer (as well as the husband). We have a 5' King size bed at our home, which gives us the extra width to toss and turn without disturbing each other too much. My wife’s invalid issues requires more room (width) in a bed to allow for better comfort and nights sleep/rest. All hotels boast King size beds nowadays (quote Premier Inn!). We have advised your staff of this issue over the many years we have stayed at your Warrington branch, even after this stay (bet you have no record or taken no action and all your other rooms have kingsize beds) yet still you have taken no notice. 3 - In the past we have had major issues with your invalid parking facilities, your front parking facility has been full and some of your customers will abuse the invalid park areas close to the front door (cars that do not display invalid cards) we have had to struggle in bad weather from your rear car park which is well away from the front doors - during this stay we managed to secure a invalid park area every night, just, most nights there was one space left for us to occupy however we did police the other cars for displaying invalid cards (call me paranoid, but generally I feel the British public can be very selfish when it comes to this sort of abuse), mostly they were not invalid entitled vehicles, no card being displayed. Your staff were informed and promised to investigate the offending vehicles, however this would not help a true invalid requiring parking at this late time in the evening - if they turned up. I suggest to adopt a system that can stop them using the invalid facility at check times maybe (i.e. - do you require invalid parking Sir, Yes I do - kindly display this card - your own design during the course of your stay) or some idea that helps! 4 - your dining room facility is very suitable for the morning breakfasts and maybe the lunchtime meals, but it is very cafeteria in appearance and not very endearing for evening meals, we have tried it in the past and not felt cosy with little privacy The above points are stated in order for you to hopefully improve your qualtity service a little, this can be achieved at very little or no extra cost (understanding that profit must be a key business motivator) hope it helps 04 August 2014
