Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service poor shuttle We stayed for 4 nights in Jul 13. Rooms in good condition and large enough for our family of four to share a twin. Reception, Concierge , F&B and all staff very helpful. A couple of downsides we encountered 1. Considering this the hotel is not close to the main downtown the free shuttle to National Mall only held 14 people and was over booked for the two days we tried to get it. Lost nearly one hour by the time they returned. The return trip was also busy and waiting required. A larger bus or several buses should be added for peak tourist season. Be prepared to catch a local bus (45 min journey) or pay $15/20 dollar taxi each way. 2. Our room faced the main road which is on a hill and we had disturbance from bus and truck noise in the mornings. Better soundproofing would be a good idea on these rooms. 24 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great 4th of July! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Georgetown during the week of 4th of July. We had a wonderful experience! We arrived late and were greeted with friendly staff and a comfortable bed. We took advantage of the Bed, Breakfast and Beyond package (including breakfast for 2 and parking), which was a TREMENDOUS value. The food was wonderful and the restaurant staff was friendly and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the hospitality of Betty. We would most definitely stay at this property again and recommend it to friends!! 24 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service Very pleased with the service on many fronts. The front desk did an excellent job greeting us on our arrival and followed up for our comments prior to check-out. The shuttle service was a plus, several drivers gave a overview of the area and history. MARTHA, in the restaurant was excellent. Normally we do not eat at the location we stay at, but was an excellent experience. Her service was above standard, the quality of the food was excellent...we enjoyed so much that we had breakfast and dinner there every night. The rooms are a bit 'dated' but clean and quiet. Would like to see a mini-fridge included. Great location...would definitely recommend and we would stay there again. 24 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experience Loved the experience here in Georgetown! Rooms are clean--not the newest hotel I have ever stayed in but good location and right price! Had to wait 30 min at Metro for the shuttle van when we arrived-it was 97 degrees outside! Also van to Mall is at 9 am and can only take 14 people-14 people (including us) were lined up at 8:30 am!!! Would recommend more van service!!! The van driver was very knowledgeable and told us about the City 32 and 36 bus which stops across from the hotel and took u to the Mall, Simthsonian, Capital, etc. That was a great tip and we used it several times--$1.80 per person! Metro was pretty far so bus is a much better deal. All in all, staff were helpful, place very clean and would definitely stay there again!! 22 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and great rooms. We had a great visit to DC at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the location. Yes, it's not on a metro line, but the shuttles from the hotel to the mall were very convenient. In fact, the shuttle drivers pretty much offered to take you and pick you up from a number of locations. I would absolutely stay here again. 20 July 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I will never stay here again When I checked in around 6 PM, my room still had women's personal items in the bathroom and the coffee area had used cups and trash. I told the desk and they said they would clean it up. They did but I was still unsure on how clean the room was. The next morning, I got up to use the work out room. I went to the room at about 5:15AM and my key would not open the door. I went to the front desk and explained my problem. Then night clerk did not get up from his chair, about six feet from the desk, and said it does not open till 6 AM. I explained that I could not wait till 6 AM as I need to shower and get to meetings. He remained seated and said, it opens at 6 AM. I will never stay here again. 20 July 2013

They are very friendly and efficient and wish them all the success in their job. What I didn't appreciate at all the Hotel reception's girls who are very unfriendly and uncooperative and they do not reflect at all the good services found in the other sectors of the hotel. 20 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff! After a long day of driving we pulled into the Holiday Inn in Georgetown and had a friendly welcome from the front desk. We were escorted to an open parking space and helped to our room. The next morning we were given directions to the Georgetown Hospital to visit a sick relative. Every staff member was courteous and friendly. That evening we returned to Holiday Inn and they were giving away root beer floats and sangria samples. Hooray! We had a lovely dinner served by a really sweet lady (Fabianne, I think was her name). I would stay here again! The price was right but what made it a great stay was the staff! AMC 18 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Holiday Inn I ever stayed at As I stated, This was the best Holiday Inn that I stayed at and I have been staying at them for the last 4 years. Great room, free parking if you are a member of the IGH REWARDS also a free breakfast for being a member. They called the room everyday to see if everything was fine. Free shuttle to M street and a free shuttle to the National Mall. Coffee and iced water in the lobby along with free flavored ice packs for the kids. GREAT WEEKEND 14 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room and helpful staff!! I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Georgetown while attending a training conference at the French Embassy. My drive had been miserable and I was very tired when I arrived. Saima at the front desk immediately made me feel like a valued, welcome guest. Unfortunately, my room key didn't immediately work; but Bryant took care of it for me and was so nice to me. I ate my dinner in the hotel's restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by how many times I was asked if I were "loving" my dinner. It was quite good. My only complaint about the food would be the price of the breakfast buffet. $18.00!! Ouch. On the bright side, the food was good and there was a good variety of hearty breakfast options on the buffet as well as some lighter, "healthier" options. I was also pleased with the fact that the hotel was only 5 minutes away from the Embassy. The transportation staff members were friendly and helpful. Parking was pretty expensive too--$30 per day but you can park for $15 if you are a Rewards Club Member. Thank goodness I am a member! But on the other hand, they were more than willing to allow me to park my car in the lot until the end of my seminar. I think I would feel better about staying here in the future if guests were allowed to park for free. On the whole, though, I really enjoyed my stay at this Holiday Inn and probably will stay at this location again! I would have no problems suggesting this hotel to friends and colleagues!! 11 July 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Customer Service and Over sold on Parking The hotel room was good. The location was close to everything. But customer service is very poor and major attitude issue. Imagine coming back to the hotel after a long day in DC and have to park two block away because the hotel over sold their parking space. We pay $30 per night for a parking space and when we told the front desk that there is no space. They told us too bad because we should come back to hotel earlier. What is the point of paying the hotel for parking when there is no space available. My recommendation for this hotel is DO NOT DRIVE THERE!!! 10 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It was alright DC gets really humid this time of year, and the AC in my room coupled with comfortable bed and fluffy pillows lead to a good sleep at night. Bathroom was clean and the rest of the room was generally decent. While staff were friendly overall, I was a little upset with the receptionist who checked me in and that got me off on a bad start- she didn't even smile till she handed me my room key and I felt like I was not so much a valued guest checking in, but someone looking for my room in desperation with her doing me a favor by checking me in.Though I learned this was an exception, I just avoided interacting with her for the rest of my stay. In fact another receptionist the next day was very helpful and courteous, and did make me feel like I was a valued guest by helping me sort out the parking space for my car (her name was Corine). 09 July 2013

The Circulator Bus drops you off across the street from this hotel. Or take the Red Line Metro to Tenleytown and the 30-something bus south to it, past the National Cathedral. Lots of restaurants downhill from hotel. Whole Foods up the hill and within walking distance. Lots of students hanging out around Tenleytown. Hotel is clean. Staff friendly. Haven't tried their restaurant(s). Coffee available in the morning. Have to admit, I wait for specials on the pricing, as Georgetown can get pricey. 09 July 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Location not convenient I wanted to like to like this property, but the location was not convenient to public transportation, and cab rides to and from were expensive. The room was rather dated, and, being a business traveler, I could not figure out why the room was so sparse. There was plenty of room for a desk, but I had to work off of a small round table. There was also an absence of electrical outlets, which is common in older properties, but many hotels solve that issue by adding lamps with electrical outlets built in. The pool was a great way to end our day of sightseeing. The shuttle drivers were very knowledgeable. Everyone was very pleasant, except one woman from the front desk. 02 July 2013

You are close to M street and even the Mall is within walking distance (and if not, there is a shuttle from the hotel). As with most HI hotels, the internet speed could be (much) better. During a +90 degrees weekend the (supervised) pool was very welcome! 29 June 2013

Employees at the Reception desk are the very first contact that the guests come in to touch with. Therefore, it is important to be professional and courteous. There are also lots of restaurants within walking distance. There was a mixup about the room I requested, forcing me to change rooms (after a 10 hour drive - uhhg) BUT the staff was pleasant and quickly sent a bell man up to move our luggage to a new room. 28 June 2013

We got upgraded to a king just by showing up and it was just what I was looking for. The staff were incredibly helpful at check-in, check-out, and even a week later when I discovered I had left something in my room that they tracked down and then agreed to mail back to PA. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a room in the region on a budget. 27 June 2013
