Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Expensive I thought this hotel was OK. It was in a great location, very easy to use their shuttle or get a cab. The little gift shop was nice and the coffee in the lobby was appreciated. When we arrived they gave us a room key.. Me, my husband, my 3 yr. old and my mother in law and our 4 bags went up to the room to find a worker grouting the shower. He said we never should have gotten the key and they would send up someone to get our bags. Of course my 3 yr. old needed the potty, so I took her back down to the lobby to find a restroom. Passing the front desk I mentioned the room was not ready. When I came back to the lobby, my husband and mother in law were there. He said they schlepped the bags down because no one went up. We got another room in a few minutes. The 1st key didn't work so we tried another that worked. The pull out couch was a pull out, not very comfortable, but the air conditioning blew directly on the bed and there was no adjustment. Not the hotels fault but there was a crash right outside that woke everyone up the 1st night we stayed there. 20 May 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reservationist Raised the price on me while I was on the phone by ~ $40 Location and on site folks were good. I am still exasburated that while I was on the phone the king bed room that I was quoted one minute earlier was then not available after we looked at a suite room price. I am a large man and had to then pay an additional ~ $40 for a king bed all while I was on the phone over a few minutes because the initial quote was "no longer valid"?????? What a crock. An adjustment would be appropriate as I will remember this as I travel each month. Still upset! Tim C 20 May 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Don't Get Up Early This hotel is a very good value overall. However, like most good value hotels service suffers after hours or early in the morning. We needed a van sized cab for all of our luggage. The one person staff at 6AM on a Saturday said he would call us one, but in the end, 20 minutes later he could not produce one. There was a guy asleep in a smaller cab, which the desk person said was the only cab available(this in Washington, DC). We could barely fit our luggage in the cab. Then to add insult to injury the cab driver claimed he had to charge us $2 a piece for the bags because they could not fit well in the cab. When I asked him to produce a fee schedule he could not do so. The most a taxi can charge for extra bags is .50. I reported him. I should also mention that there was no bellman on duty at 6AM and no help available with our luggage. Normally this is not a problem, I am happy to carry my own luggage, but this was one of those instances when a bellman was needed. The one person on duty could have cared less and made no attempt to assist us 18 May 2013

The room was a good size, bathroom had a good shower and a long counter with room for all our stuff. We are unusually fussy about the bed, linens and pillows and they were all very, very comfortable. In addition, the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We travel a lot and rarely see such a caring staff. We look forward to our next stay. 15 May 2013

Have stayed here several times this year and each time have found the hotel staff to be friendly, helpful, courteous and have a great sense of humor. That makes it easier to be away from home. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn I ever stayed at This had to be the worst Holiday Inn I ever stayed at. I requested to stay in a room with double beds; however, I was place in a room that had 1 double bed. The room was outdated, the AC system was broken, and the room wasn't thoroughly clean. I will never stay here ever again. Only thing new in the hotel I bet was the Holiday Inn sign. 27 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The only place I intend to stay in Georgetown I can say, with great enthusiasm, that the Holiday Inn in Georgetown provided me and my family with an outstanding experience. I traveled with three 11 year olds, a 10 year old, and an 8 year old. We were accommodated both as overnight guests and patrons of their restaurant. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff a joy. Kudos to you Holiday Inn Georgetown! 26 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the stay The people who work at this Hotel make sure you are welcomed and comfortable and offer all sorts of information to make your stay a better one. I thought it was expensive but this is DC and it was lesse xpensive comparaively and definitely worth it. Would stay again and probably will. If you have a child going to Georgetown University or looking it is a nice walk (less than a mile) from the hotelk to the University and you get to see the charm of the town. 25 April 2013

I won't generalise and say that all the people in the reception were bad, but certainly the one that checked me in was not very helpful. Although you may have had a busy period, the room that I had was pretty much the worst room I have ever stayed in my years with the IHG group. Since the day I left the hotel I have stayed in two more holiday Inn (in the US) and your property is still the worst. I will never go back to your facility...... 22 April 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, fair hotel, excellent staff This is an older hotel and in my experience there were several areas needing some attention. The door to my room including the security latch showed some damage. The TV did not work correctly on HD digital channels and the shower function on the faucet had corrosion issues and barely worked. In general this is an older hotel and the wear and tear over the years has taken a toll. That said a fabulous location and friendly staff make this a reasonable location to stay at if you are looking for a clean hotel in the Georgetown area. 22 April 2013

Georgetown is a lovely neighbourhood, with lots of good walks and restaurants, and the hotel's free shuttles make getting to the Metro and nearby destinations very handy. The staff were very pleasant and solicitous. The pool is only outdoors, and even for DC, April was a bit chilly; we had hoped for an indoor pool, but generally, we were very pleased with our stay. 22 April 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing policies Apparently, when I booked my stay, I somehow ended up with a pre-paid rate. Unfortunately I needed to cancel my stay due to illness and inability to travel. The hotel was unempathetic and unaccomodating to my cancellation request. You acted 100% within policy, but in the process have lost a customer. I will also discourage any friends, colleagues and relatives from staying at your hotel due to your policies and inflexibilities when life's inevitable issues pop up. 22 April 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 10 PLUS My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay recently at the Holiday Inn-Georgetown. Allan and Bryant , the front desk managers, were truly wonderful. Both were so efficient, friendly, and courteous. They made it a pleasure to stay here. The room was comfortable and well maintained, and the food in the hotel restaurant was very good. We particularly enjoyed seeing Betty, our fabulous server most mornings who made our dining experience such a treat! Also, daily shuttle service to the National Mall was a great additional benefit that we used often. Overall, we would have to say that our stay earned a 10+ and we look forward to coming here again on our next trip to DC. 15 April 2013

The restaurant staff at breakfast and dinner were excellent. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, clean and comfortable My daughter and I spent 3 nights at this hotel. The location was good because we were visiting colleges in the area, and could get around easily with our car. Without a car, it might seem a little out of the way. The room was typical, but was clean with plenty of space. We had the unfortunate experience of having someone near by smoking each night, which smelled bad and gave us headaches, even though it is a no smoking hotel. By the third night, we were offered a change in rooms, but did not want to pack up since we were leaving the next day. The staff was pleasant, and the atmosphere was friendly. The price was good, and I would recommend this hotel. 07 April 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay overall Hello.We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Georgetown. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The bellman in the afternoon was helpful in giving us driving directions to universities. The front desk was welcoming and advised about shuttle service. Room was clean and great value. We will be back for sure on our future visits to Georgetown. The lobby coffee was a little weak in the AM. Otherwise the food in the restaurant outlet and at the bar was terrific - what a hamburger!!! Staff was friendly there too:) 07 April 2013
