Recently stayed at hotel for 1 night on business. Was on a lower floor which obviously had not been renovated as of yet. The bathroom had some issues and the TV was out. When I called the front desk they sent an engineer up immediately (plus) but he said that apparently while some work was being done on a higher floor something happened and all of the TVs on my floor were out. He said they were calling in the technicians and that they hoped to have it fixed shortly. That was early evening. By checkout the next morning still no TVs, so either a much bigger issue or no one was ever called. Disappointing to say the least.
Otherwise the stay was fine. Hotel is close to where I need to be and I look forward to staying again...after the renovations are done.

The current renovation project caused a minor delay in checking in . Management was immediately apoligetic and gave me $5o gift certifitcate for dinner which was much apprecited. By the timie dinner was complete my room was ready. The kindness was appreciated and the Redfish was excellent.

The only plus point is the location. It is within walking distance to the US Capitol and Smithsonian Museums.
The A/C unit was really loud. I had already changed room once as the A/C unit in another room was even louder. The other shocking thing is that this hotel provides NO kettle. I thought it is a fairly basic appliance, apparently not the case here.

A friend of mine was kind enough to call up to the Holiday Inn and pay for a breakfast for me. This was a very thoughtful act, followed up by several phone calls to make sure the front desk knew to inform me that breakfast had been paid for by my friend. Upon checking in I was handed a breakfast voucher and told "breakfast is taken care of" which only sounded to me like it was some run of the mill continental breakfast which was included in my stay at the Holiday Inn. It was not communicated to me what "breakfast" really was or that it had been this kind gift. As a result, I went to breakfast in the morning next door at a deli which seemed to have more options. Only later did I learn the true story. I am a bit annoyed and most unsatisfied with the front desk's lack of communication.

Although our room was on the side of the hotel by the train that was not so bad as being located above the parking garage. Every time a car entered and exited the garage I was awaken.
The band in the lounge was also very loud and could be heard perfectly in my room.
If I had not been there on business these things would not have been so bothersome. But having to get up at 6 am after a poor nights sleep is never a good experience.

Outstanding services. Location, cleanliness, price, staff and comfort. Very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay there again and recommended this hotel to others.
