Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Room and all round great service I booked a weekend stay at this hotel due the quality experience we had in the past. We booked a executive room which offered inclusive breakfast and dinner package. The menu was great because of its variety and fresh delivery. The bathroom had a large bath/shower facility which was clean and very spacious. The King size bed was clean and soft. I proposed to my girl friend so this environment was perfect for the atmosphere I required. She said YES :) 26 February 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WARNING -EARLY CHECKIN CHARGE Don't arrive before 3 pm - the hotel wanted to charge me £20 to checkin 55 minutes early. I am a long standing Platinum member but this was disregarded. This is greedy madness - a charge of over £1 per 3 minutes room use. I stay at many Holiday Inns and never had this experience before. I could not see this information anywhere on the hotel website when booking but the staff showed it to me hidden in frequently asked questions. I will be not be staying here again, and did not dine in the restaurant or drink in the bar of this attitude. I protested about this but the receptionist would not compromise there was no Holiday Inn can do attitude. I was offered a full refund of my advance booking, if I did not now want to stay at the hotel - prepared to be flexible here, on something that is usually a complete no go, yet could not waive a ridiculous £20 charge. As a precedent has been set for a cancellation, if you do not want to stay here due to this charge, you should be able to cancel fairly easily. To me this shows that they are not too bothered for business and don’t understand what a full service Holiday Inn should offer, as part of the room rate, and the sort of customer service that guests expect from a trusted brand. 12 February 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Booking in for advanced booking We booked as usual yor Advanced Rate booking rate and on this occasion arrived at about 1 pm which was qiuite unusual. Although rooms were available we were asked to pay an additional £20 to be allocated the room. As you have already accepted the booking and payment made in advance I think this is.too much extra to expect from your customers . 10 February 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A cold rainy night I have stayed at many Holiday Inns and generally had a positive experience. sadly on this occasion this was not the case. One would hope to arrive and find a reasonably warm and welcoming room, especially after a long journey, but here I found a freezing space with a telephone not working and no apparent heating device whatsoever in the bathroom, Despite some thoughtful staff I had a miserable sleepless night and will not be returning to this particular hotel again. I was led to believe that the hotel was a franchise and it felt very much as though the only thoughts were to put as many people through as quickly as possible. 07 February 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Great hotel, thank you. Our family was on a trip through the region and stayed only for one night, wish that we had based ourselves there for longer. For the price, breakfast was excellent and to have all the various restaurants of the services stop within walking distance for dinner was a bonus. Rooms large and clean and showers were powerful, not like some of the half- hearted efforts we encountered in some hotels. Starbucks in the lobby a great idea. 19 January 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location This is a great hotel in an excellent location, the staff and very helpful and the breakfast as well cooked and had a great deal of choice. I have 2 down points, the first is, we visited during December and on both nights we decided to go out for our evening meal because there was a function on in the restaurant and the only options were to eat in the bar or pay extra for room service, that’s a shame because, if the breakfast was anything to go by, the evening meals would have been excellent. The second down point was about the internet connection, as a Priority Club member you receive free internet connection, the problem was that in the room it’s via an Ethernet cable and not wi-fi, not a lot of good if you are using an I-pad or tablet or one of the handheld devices that only connect via wi-fi. Having said that it’s a great hotel, well kept and well appointed rooms (although the heating system is a bit strange). There is plenty of parking and the access to and from the A303 is easy. 12 December 2013
