The first room did not meet the Holiday Inn standard I am used to. Only after checking my Priority status was I moved to another room with a higher rate. The food selection is great and fresh. The rooms need to be updated and properly cleaned. The TV's were too small 19inches.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Accra close to 20 times over the past few years and while it's comparitively expensive for this chain, the property is on average for the region. Say hello to John, the elderly bartender, who exhibits the standard for service and is calm under every circumstance! The food is excellent with nightly specials and caters to all walks of life.
The only negative is air conditioning. The property has a set limit of 25 degrees C as the lowest level unless you push real hard at the front desk. They won't ever admit to this but from experience with the maintenance department, it's very clear that there is a relay limit on the roof for every room that has to be reset to get below 25 degrees and then it only is good until a power blip. Please suggest this when you're on site so as to change their policy.
Other than that, enjoy the service and excellent location and say hello to John as he's the real deal and is a great ambassador to both Ghana and Holiday Inn!

I spent a few days around new year's eve 2012/2013 at the Accra Airport Holiday Inn. Even after a great time in Busua and Elmina, we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing stay at the Holiday Inn. Food is good, the kids enjoyed the pool, and staff is generally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we were not given rooms with a view similar to our previous stay at the same hotel, but overall we were satisfied with our second stay at this establishment. Extra marks for the X-mas decorations and the fireworks on new year's eve!

You want to stay your first day or two here if you are going to other parts of the country, and you want to stay here on the last night or two. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Avoid the bustle of the Accra traffic and stay at the Holiday Inn Accra Airport. The staff are ever attentive to your needs and go about their work with a great sense of duty without visible management. If you are an aviation enthusiast, then you can watch the airport; I saw the new Ethiopian Dreamliner make its debut fight to Accra last time I stayed there. And, of course, it is close to the airport, so you can have a relaxed arrival in and departure from Accra without the anxiety of whether you will reach the airport before check-in time. It is a good hotel.

Broken shower, broken fridge, surely front desk (great bar staff). Generally speaking not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn
