Negatives I don’t think you should pay for the towels, first hotel I have stayed in where you have to do this, it would be nice to have the choice of the beach without having to pay 14 Euros also the beds in the hotel are too squashed you cannot move around them a lot of elderly people I seen struggle with this. The breakfast not enough coffee tea machines a lot of queuing also the toasters took ages to toast the bread. Plastic bed cover not nice, positives but beds comfortable and air con was good, great location, staff friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location, room good although the housekeeping left a little to be desired on a few occasions. Bath towels varied in size from big and soft to so small you couldn't wrap them around yourself because they were so small. Coffee supplied in the room is disgusting so wait until breakfast where the coffee from the machine (very long queues# is gorgeous or better still take your own #don't buy it over there as it's more expensive#.
Word of warning, if you choose to eat your breakfast outside on the terrace which I fully recommend as the view is fantastic DON'T LEAVE YOUR FOOD UNATTENDED FOR A SECOND, THE SEAGULLS ARE ON THE PROWL CONSTANTLY AND WILL DEVOUR SAUSAGE, BACON, TOAST IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. YOU MAY NOT SEE THEM BUT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THEY ARE WATCHING YOU.. We saw at least 6 people loose their food to the gulls.
Pool is lovely, cold at first but just get straight in and it's great.
Claudia on reception is very helpful, some of the others need to learn how to smile occasionally but everybody was pleasant.
Prices at the bar are expensive #more than here) so mke the most of Happy Hour 6pm-8pm.
Really recommend a restaurant called Santoli about 10 minutes walk from hotel, ask for a table outside on the terrace. Food is excellent.
Sea view room is a MUST.

Right from the moment you enter the Holiday Inn, Algarve, there is a wonderful relaxed atmosphere about the place.
The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. We had a small balcony with a wonderful sea view, and left the door open at night to listen to the waves lapping on the beach.
The breakfast buffet provides a expansive range of everything you could want for breakfast, and you can have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the beach.
We were on B&B, as there are so many good restaurants in Armacao de Pera, but we ate one night in the Indian Restaurant, and had as good a curry as I've had anywhere in the UK.
This is my third holiday in the Holiday Inn. I first stayed when it was The Hotel Garbe, and I will now use The Holiday inn, Algarve by the yardstick on which I judge all other hotels.
We will return soon

On arrival the room was dark damp smelly even down to the linen on the bed! Bathroom was mouldy and tired. The television didnt work. Carpets were worn. We couldn't even bring ourselves to unpack. At most this room was a 1 star!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GR444 Great pool, great breakfast, bad room, erratic pricing.
Good - overall hotel is good, great pool, access to the beach and great breakfasts.
Bad - Room was noisy - overlooking a street market and lorries delivering supplies. Prices charged in the pool bar were higher than the menu, told the menu was out of date. Price charged on checkout was 500 euros higher than quoted, this was corrected.
