Beautiful and clean hotel with attentive staff. Excellent breakfast (with eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, french toast sticks, biscuits and gravy etc.) free for two adults per room. Ping pong and pool table. Indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna. Refrigerator in the room. HBO. Wi-Fi. Computer room downstairs. My compliments to employees Lucas and Ken at the front desk, and Cindy in the breakfast area! Look for the AARP rate:)

Staff was excellent, in all areas.
Hotel, was in best shape , comparing to others I have stayed in, and I stay in Holiday Inn 3 days a week, min.
Food and beverage, was as good as any restarant I have gone too. Staff there was very accomodating.
I will be recommending to all my staff and technicians.

pool was undergoing painting and there was a pervasive odor throughout...had to change room to back of hotel where it was somewhat better....breakfast was very good but go eat dinner elsewhere!

We have been coming up to this Holiday Inn every year for the last 5 years to spend the night after attending an annual birthday gathering at Fast Eddies. The staff has always been very friendly and very accomodating. We feel we are getting a great deal for the money with shuttle service to and from Fast Eddies and breakfast the next morning. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant staff eagar to help. this was my 2nd stay at this hotel and i plan to stay again when traveling thru this area.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were clean. We had breakfast daily and it was excellent and had a lot of choices from the buffet as well as a made to order omelette. Not our first time to stay, nor the last.

I like resting in a cooler room. The A/C was a little hard to work, but over all good. I would suggest on adding on to the hotel. To the back of it I would add a gaming area and new pool. This way members won't be disturb by the noice of kids playing. I say you add a water park like what the Holiday Inn did in Clinton, OK I think.

Although I live in California, my family roots are in the Alton-Wood River area. When I have visitors come to the Alton area in numbers that cannot be accommodated at the family home, this is only one place I consider to lodge them. The accommodations and staff are excellent. I strongly recommend this property if you're in need of a place to stay in the Alton-Wood River area.

I stay at this hotel about 6 times a year, sometimes more. On this stay I was placed on the first floor facing the highway. The room showed its age and probably could use some freshing up. When in the room you can easly hear conversations and the TV from other rooms through the walls. It was so bad that I had to run the hair dryer all night to cover up the conversations and TV noise. (There can's be much (if any) insulation or sound profing between walls.) After my first night (I stayed two) I went to the front desk in the morning and told the front desk about my noisy room. The hotel staff girl at the counter looked at me and smilled and proceeded to tell mllowing me that I was the only one that "she" had ever heard complaining about noise in that room. I requested another room and she told me that there was none. On another note the cleaning staff left me no replacement soap, shampoo or towels on the next night. I had to run the hair dryer untill 0400 the fowing night. I am nearing the platnum status with Holiday Inn club. I stay at many different hotel and motel chains throughout the USA. This hotels staff needs some training on proper customer service. I am very disappointed.

I always stay here when in Alton and also try to stay at Holiday Inn everywhere, and have Priority Club.
Usually, I get exactly the room I need on the top floor at this Holiday Inn, and reserved my room 2 months ahead. But after an hour's rest, when I used the bathroom, the toilet handle was broken, and they said it was cracked so I had to pack back up and move to the floor beneath me. This should have been discovered by the maid who cleaned up after the previous customer. The dinners and lunches were good, but the scrambled eggs were cold at breakfast--Ok, I took them back and they brought more. The staff was great about everything--front desk took off from my room charge for the inconvenience, and waitresses are really great and friendly. They remembered me from before, by name! Thursday we had the OctoberFest Pork --delicious. We had our class reunion here on Friday night--really nice buffet of appetizers. Good drinks too. You can bet I will continue to stay here when in my home town of Alton.
