Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Place to Stay in Amarillo My wife, adult son, and I along with two dogs stayed at this location for our second time. Everything was wonderful. The staff in the restaurant was very professional, friendly and took care of every need. The hotel room was clean and very convenient to exit for loading luggage and pets. We even enjoyed the gym and the slot machines (although we didn't come out ahead on that aspect of the visit. May 8, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Pet Friendly Property We stayed here on our way from California back to Texas. It was necessary for us to find a pet friendly as we were assisting my daughter move to her new home. The folks staffing at the front desk were nice enough and gave us good information regarding the surrounding restaurants. Room service wasn't too bad; they had gotten our order wrong but quickly corrected the issue. Apparently, we must have hit this property during spring break in the Texas panhandle. We heard people partying till 2:30 a.m. There were loud & obnoxious guests in the hallways, common areas, elevators and parking lot; one of which literally spit at our daughter off of the balcony. Not a nice experience! We could not connect to the internet during our stay albeit brief. May 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant, less than wonderful, though To be fair to this establishment, I did arrive late, and did not have that much interaction with staff before leaving in the morning. The bed, bedroom and the bathroom were cleaned and comfortable. The air temperature in the rooms is controlled individually, so the room took a little time to become comfortable. The exercise equipment was in substandard condition, I could not use it, and that would have been really helpful after a 12 hour drive with a brand new joint. The condition of the hallway of my floor left a bit to be desired, it seems there is a cronic issue with some plumbing leakage, evidenced by the condition of the carpet and the omnipresent "caution, wet floor" placards. The desk clerks had more important things to do than to deal with humans, especially the night clerk. In spite of that, the evening clerk was pleasant, and greeted me nicely as a Priority Club member. Breakfast was buffet, and very pleasant. The young lady who waited on me was also very pleasant and customer oriented. May 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worn out HI This hotel is in dire need of updating and employee training. When we checked they gave a single bed room when I had requested two beds when the reservation was made. I went back to the front desk and the young lady was quite perturbed that I was asking for a different room, she indicated that it was our fault. She set us up with a new room and slammed the card keys down in front of me and then walked away without a word. Not what I usually experience at any HI. April 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well done Everything was clean and well kept. The room temp was fine. There was plenty of hot water. Good food. April 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by seen better rooms need update breakfast was awful not hot, badly overcooked, terrible coffee. April 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Not Happy I didn't enjoy the hotel at all. From having constant problems with the internet wireless connection to having a room near the noisy arcade area. I wouldn't recommend this hotel nor would I want to stay there again. April 16, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cold water and hot beer It was bad enough that the draft beer in the lounge was warm, but when I took a shower the next morning, it took 25 minutes before the water was luke warm at best. April 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Management Failure I had an experience at the hotel and I made a complaint about it. The manager never called me. The solution to the problem as they interpreted it was to give me 10,000 points. I have since left that hotel and have called every other week. It is has been 2 months. I have left messages with the manager, and the young lady that answers the phone remembers me from the incident, the room number and when I call, she says my name. So the staff are great in helping to resolve this situation. This manager does not want to call me back or award the points. Now I am calling every week. Last week was twice a week. No call back, and no bonus points awarded. April 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and dinning. We were extremely pleased with our stay in Amarillo. The room was very nice, the dinning room served excellent meals, and the staff was very accommodating. The location was was very handy. We will stay there again on the next trip through Amarillo March 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room and service Room smelled bad, and the elevator starts moving before the doors close, the bed was not comfortable. Over all the property was nice, i wished they had a non smoking lounge but I guess this must be a city law. Had it smelled better, and the bed were comfortable I would be willing to recommend this location. Staff was friendly. Hope this helps. March 25, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor to Fair for Amarillo I-40 Hotel Was not happy w/ the place. Very, very OUTDATED. I get to my room and have to spend 30 minutes w/ maintenance to get the dead bolt fixed. I was pretty tired after a an 8 hr drive. Having to deal w/ the deadbolt was annoying. The smell of the room was obviously a smokers room. I know my profile said I am NOT a smoker. And I KNOW I picked a non-smoking room. The rug seems to have never been shampoo'ed. The rug was definitely dark and dingy. When was the rug installed? The day it was built? Unsatisfactory. Then later that nite, around 10pm, I took a shower. The shower head not working properly. There was an obvious leak in the seal between the shower head & pipe. So 1/3 of the water was flowing, not dripping - flowing, out the backside of the shower head. I took the shower anyways, because I was not going to deal w/ maintenance on this matter. So after I was done w/ all the drama above, I ASKED for FOAM pillows. Does ANYONE there know the difference between FOAM and FEATHER Pillows? REALLY?!!! Ticked me off and added to the neck problems I had the next morning. WHAT A DUMP! All I can say is this place needs to be torn down and start anew. And look at the Holiday Inn's internationally on HOW a REAL Holiday Inn should be. What a dump! Really!!! Tear it down!!! I should be reimbursed for staying at such a miserable hotel. March 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn at it's best Every time I or any of my accociates stay in Amarillo we stay at the this Holiday Inn. Best place to stay for the $. March 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Amarillo HI Courteous staff; easy check-in. Room good. Common areas poor. Crowded parking lot, unruly guests. March 22, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissappointed We travel 5-6 times a year. This was absolutely the WORST hotel experience we have ever had. When we got to the hotel, they had our reservation wrong along with rude defensive customer service. After getting our reservation corrected, we had to wait in the hall because the rooms were being cleaned. When we got to our room it had dried feces on the toilet, the TV had a very static reception and the tub would not drain. We made order dinner from room service and that got our order wrong, twice. We finally got our sick grand child to sleep only to be scared to death by the cleaning crew busting through the hotel door, nearly pulling the chain out of the wall. The hotel has two front desk staff but one one front desk staff member during busy check out time. March 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Holiday Inn Quality We drove from Dallas to Utah and back and only stayed in Holiday Inns. In comparison, this was appeared to be the oldest property and was in substantial disrepair. We we walked down the hall, most door kick plates were in very bad shape and the halls were darker and smelled a bit old. We were initially put in a smoking room and were kindly moved upon request. The room was clean, but the tub/shower was patched heavily with silicone and was very noisy given that it backed up to the internal play area (but that is how I remember the "Holidome" stays when I was a kid). The greatest disappointment was that the restaurant closed 5 minutes early. It was supposed to be open until 10:00 and we hurried from the front desk to the restaurant and the front desk said "oh, we just closed." We confirmed the time with the front desk, and they in fact had closed earlier than the stated time. The stay was not bad, just less than expected for a Holiday Inn. We won't stay at this location again. March 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely a great place! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I really enjoyed meetin Natasha in the lounge. She made me feel welcomed. I plan on staying there again. I liked the room along with the professional attitude shown by all personnel. Great place! February 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hotel experience this property is old, although it is updated and in excellent condition the openess of new style is not there. other than that our stay was great and we would recommend this property and if in the area again would make reservations there February 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by holiday inn amarillo the stay was awesome, we got a king bed with a sofa bed fridge microwave, the wifi was not working at the time but we found out we could have fun without it...lol. the first morning we needed to be somewhere early and since we were able to have breakfast downstairs that gave us more time to be able to get to the location... there was plenty to choose from for breakfast... eggs biscuits gravyw/sausage french toast sticks bacon and sausage, cereal fruit, lots to drink too..,. for the next day the eggs were made with green and red peppers but there were also eggs by themselves... which was good cause my child dont eat it the other way. my spouse was not able to come with us but we felt safe there... my child enjoyed it so much we will be back again for the next tournament that will be held in amarillo February 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Service was great - Room was comfortable Check-in is always a joy. The front desk people all always very friendly, courteous and efficient. Rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. For an older hotel it is well kept and up to date. February 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very great place to stay The first thing I noticed when I walked in the hotel was greeting the customers like family. Wonderful staff and very happy to meet customers. The staff always has a smile on their face. They also, offer free transportion to the local Amarillo airport. I alway stay at this location. January 25, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old rooms The staff and food are great but the rooms are very outdated. Sink was smashed and cracked, shower curtain rod falling down, shower old and cracked. Walls are totally bare and depressing.Though I reserved a non smoking room I was given a smoking room that smelled AWFUL. Beds are old and worn. Not up to Holiday Inn standards. I had stayed at OKC airport Holiday Inn the nite before and it was like going from night to day. January 16, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Not the usual standards for Holiday Inn Express Stayed on a night stop over mainly due to a cafe at the motel. Room service trays sitting on the floors in hallways for hours, cafe was empty, but waiter discouraged us from sitting in the restraunt becaue he said they were busy and backlogged with room service and bar orders. Really!!! Rooms smelled bought lysol to freshen. Bed was like sleeping on plywood. The only thing nice about our room was the TV and the bedding. Also bathtubs didn't appear clean (won't get graphic) Definitely not the normal Holiday Inn standards and I stay at a lot of them and are a gold card member. Don't waste your money. January 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk clerk was very friendly Very friendly front desk clerk. Made you feel very welcome. Property is a little older but still maintained. Pet friendly room at no extra charge was WONDERFUL!! December 27, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Won't be returning I stayed one night in August. Selected this facility because the price was significantly less than the other HI locations. Price reflects condition of facility - tired, dirty rooms. December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT PLACE.. really cool inside, games, pool table, you'll want to stay another day!! the classic diner style breakfast café was THE BEST Holiday Inn or Xpress breakfast experience. And I am a seasoned traveler with many stays in just about every city. My family WILL make sure to pass through there again. December 3, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by O.k., not great! This is an older hotel that could use updating. The bathrooms are in need of remodeling. There was an event going on in the atrium area from 6:00 pm until around 10:00pm. It was extremely loud during those hours and impossible to ignore the noise. Had to ask to change rooms, it helped. Many of the compact fridges are not working, that was annoying, I had several food items that needed to be cooled overnight. November 25, 2012
