Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel For Older Building Upon arrival I was greeted and had wonderful service from the staff. Being a Platinum Elite member I was upgraded to the executive floor and the bartender was excellent, as well as the appetizers and drinks provided. Only thing that was a big bummer was that there was no mini-fridge. I had ordered food delivered and had no way to keep it cold. I travel frequently for business and primarily stay at IHG hotels, and it is very uncommon to not have a mini fridge. Would have been a big help. June 30, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Hotel After having recent hip replacement surgery, the Hotel and their staff went out of their way to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Special Thanks to the evening Bellman John who prepared a ice pack for me and delivered it to my room for me on a evening when I was really hurting, he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I had everything I needed. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The Most UN-accomaditing place I have ever stayed My daughter and I stayed here for a soccer tournament. Every room in town was sold out so they started out by gouging the guests. Upon our arrival I went to check in and was told that there were no rooms available yet. That was fine since I was there prior to the posted check in time. However as I sat in the lobby waiting, the same clerk proceeded to check in a half dozen other people, including the person who was in line behind me, over the next half hour. I went back to the desk after witnessing this and the other clerk suddenly had a room available. Our room was fine the first night except for only having 1 bath towel and no washcloths for 2 people. My request for more fell upon deaf ears so I took a shower using one half of the towel as a washcloth while trying to keep the other half dry to dry myself off with. Afterward I had to go to the desk to get my daughter a towel. The next day We left for the soccer game at 7am and on the way out we stopped at the desk to see if they had a plastic spoon for my dtr to eat her oatmeal. We were told that they had nothing like that and that we could wait until the restaurant opened and they might give us one. It was not busy, yet neither attendant offered to go back to or call the kitchen to try to find one. I don't feel like this was an unreasonable nor difficult request but they didn't even attempt to help. We left and returned 4 1/2 hours later and the room had not been cleaned. We left again and returned 3 hours later. Someone had been in the room and left towels and washcloths this time but the beds weren't made nor had the floor been swept. I could tell because a pair of shoes that had been on the floor between the beds had not been moved at all. The trash can had been emptied but the person doing it had dropped several used tissues from the trashcan on the floor and just left them there. There were no coffee packets left for the second day so I had to go downstairs once again to get my own. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a coffee maker in the room! We were on an upper floor and there was a beautiful sunset the first night but it was difficult to enjoy as the window was so dirty you could barely see through it. The night before we left I asked the attendant at the desk if it would be possible to get a late checkout ( just an hour) as my dtrs game was not until late afternoon. She quite rudely she stated "There is absolutely no way that would be possible." I returned to the desk the morning of checkout and made the same request and a clerk named Jenny very graciously gave us an extra hour which was a great help. The appearance of the hotel was very nice but the staff was abhorrently un-accomadating. The icing on the cake was when I found out that my ex husband was able to book a room at the last minute for Sunday night and was charged $22 less for the exact same type of room. I sincerely hope this is just the staff at this hotel and not representative of the entire chain these days. Perhaps some training in how to be hospitable would be in order for these folks. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for business Holiday Inn Appleton is always a great place to stay for business. The staff is friendly and will take care of you. Marlon's is a great hang out for a bar that allows you to talk with your clients while enjoying some downtime and its not too loud or overdone. The beds sleep well and the rooms are clean.
