Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by to the Chef at O'Malley's As the above ratings show, this hotel is to be recommended for its location, its service and the friendliness and professionalism of its staff. An extra mention to the chef at O'Malley's restaurant. He/she did a fantastic job in providing various and tasty food. It was a pleasure to dine in the hotel restaurant - normally this is not often the case. So after all these positive comments, here comes the one let down: the breakfast. Being aware that the usual dining room was being renovated, it still was a terrible shame that the choice and variety at breakfast was so poor. Most of the food was either sugary or fat, no choice of healthy cereals, no bread at all, no fruit salad. October 9, 2014

The food at the restaurant was very good. The staff answered all of my questions with a smile and they were so helpful with my questions. I will definitely recommend this hotel. Pleasantly surprised with the modern rooms as well as the personal service. Near the Metro, shopping and fine restaurants. Will definitely stay here on my next visit to DC - rental car next door and not far from Alexandria - McDonald's also next door. October 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient free shuttle I stayed one night here. Had a shuttle pick me up at Reagan. The next day ate breakfast at the hotel which was pretty good then caught the shuttle to the Metro station for a day in DC looking at the sights. The front desk held my bags for me until I came back. Then caught the shuttle again to the airport to pick up my rental car. Rooms were comfortable although ordinary. I'd recommend this hotel if you want a cheaper option to staying in DC. The free shuttle to the Metro really makes it easy to get into the city without having to spend a lot on a hotel in the middle of the city. Only downside is that there aren't as many restaurants within walking distance to this hotel. September 23, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay Hotel Don't stay on top floor during hot months. The air conditioner can't keep up with the humidity. Also if you need the airport shuttle, call the hotel to request it, if you are at the old terminal. We waited for almost an hour because they did not circulate every 30 minutes as stated in the description of the hotel. I called, and they were like oh you're at the old terminal, I'll let me guy know. September 18, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My Stay I like staying at this Holiday Inn because it is convenient for everything that is close by. The mall, down town. For the past two years I have stayed at this location for that reason. I also think because I request for a king size bed that I am always on the same side of the hotel. It would be nice to have some rooms on the other side so you can have a different view out of your window. Also trying to check in for you flights it would be nice to have more than two computers. I am not trying to get anything for free. But I do feel that if you want people to continue to come back after having the problems that I had that you would want to make it right for the customer. I have worked for State Farm over 34 years. And word of mouth is powerful. Thank you for your time. September 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rm & Comfort The AC was right next to the bed and blowing directly on you. This made for a long night. The noise level of the AC was terrible. The pillows were to soft and not very comfortable, I've stayed at this location before and did not have these problems. May be because this was a single and smaller. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Comfy, and good Shuttle Service I chose this property because of the free breakfast (depending upon your Room Choice) and free Shuttle Service. Their van will pick you up and drop you off at the airport and the closest Metro stops. I like to not have to rent a car when visiting DC. -You must keep a copy of your receipt from your travel agency or online travel site because the Holiday Inn System did not display I had a free breakfast, but fortunately, I had the Travel Agency paperwork that stated I chose a room with the free breakfast option. The hotel front staff were very friendly and provided me with the coupons for the free breakfast. Also, parking of my co-workers car was also free. -It would have been nice to have a microwave but we did have a Refrigerator, Iron, Ironing Board, and Coffee Maker. Oh, the paper coffee cups leaked every morning. Beside that, pretty nice place. -A McDonalds is directly beside the Hotel and is open 24/7. -The wi-fi internet requires a password that you must enter constantly (multiple times a day). Let me ask why? How many people steal internet from the 10th floor? Are their flying internet hackers in DC? Ridiculous. For a more pleasant experience, they should remove the constant requirement to input the wi-fi password. Everyone has free wi-fi now days, there is no reason to have it so closely guarded. The shuttle service to the local area was fantastic! Access to Crown Plaza pool was much appreciated. Check in and check out was quick and efficient. The real high point was the staff. Each and every one of them! We were always greeted with a smile and a kind word whenever we encountered them, in the halls, elevators, at the front desk, pub, shuttle, etc. Front desk and pub staff were also extremely helpful suggesting things to do, places to go, and offering driving directions. Yvonne was a particular standout. This is a nice, well maintained, well run facility. We had a wonderful stay. Please convey our sincere appreciation to the employees! August 30, 2014

The hotel was close to the airport which we needed. There was a hotel shop where we could purchase food and water which we needed. The hotel wasn't over the top good but it definitely served the purpose for what we needed. August 24, 2014
