Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by deciding about going back We have stayed at least three times at this hotel in the past year We use the dinning facilities at least once per visit. We always sign for bed and breakfast deal, but this time we were informed that one customer would pay half on the breakfast? I asked for a map of Georgetown and they did not have any While there are stores that have them available. The second day we arrived to our room late in the afternoon, our bedding was missing. Whem called for them they brought us a single blanket. We told them that we "really did not have any bedding to sleep on. The bathroom needed extra cleaning there were smears on the door from past customers. We could not use the air cond So we were hot at night giving the high temperatures. The Breakfast menu never changes Now that we have to pay extra it would be good if the second or third day we have some variety like in others hotels We will considers all options before visiting again October 24, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location I'm a platinum member and was not acknowledged. As well, there was no benefit to have been committed to the HI product. The hotel was a great location and good price based on surrounding properties. This site could use some updates. October 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Restaurant Wish we could have ordered breakfast at 9:35 am. The kitchen was preparing for lunch, so we had the remains of the breakfast buffet. October 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good location, nice staff, seedy room Cons: The room looked seedy with peeling wallpaper over the doorway, stained ceiling tiles, peeled paint over the bathtub, and a torn lampshade. One of the two double beds was squeaky with a worn mattress that tended to roll you towards the nightstand. There was also a good bit of traffic/outdoor noise late into the evening. The lobby had partitions and yellow tape blocking off access to the main staircase for our two day stay. While access to the stairs was not necessary this look was certainly not a plus for the lobby atmosphere. Pros:We have stayed in this hotel before and have previously found the rooms to be in better shape. The hotel is near the Metro and the Key Bridge so that you can walk to Georgetown. The hotel provides free parking and the staff is pleasant. Summary: I previously considered this hotel a great value, however the worn looking room made me feel like I was in a cheap motel. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative was the bathroom was a little smaller then some other hotels I have stayed in. Restaurant was good and has a nice view of DC. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay again. October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location & excellent price We chose this hotel for many reasons - the short walk to the Metro, excellent price and free indoor parking (DC hotels charge as much as $30/night for parking). Our king suite was immaculate and included 2 small balconies with views of the river. There is a nice restaurant on the top floor with a varied menu. The front desk staff was very accomodating and pleasant. We will definitely stay at Rosslyn Holiday Inn on our next visit to Washington. October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wonderful experience to stay there I was glad to stay there , good location ,wonderful view . October 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel, Great Value I really enjoyed my one night at this property. I was visiting my daughter at GW and this hotel is ONE stop - 3 mins away from the Foggy Bottom Station on the Metro. And the Metro is two short blocks from the hotel. The AAA room rate was GREAT - as DC is very expensive, and FREE PARKING - which you get at very few hotels. I have stayed at the Marriott across the street, but it doesn't even compare to this Holiday Inn. Every room has a balcony (the Marriott windows don't even open), and the room was clean, two sinks, spacious, free internet...etc. Very clean, great staff. There was nothing I didn't like about this Holiday Inn... October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service, very good room facilities, very good location Short distance to the Metro, short walking distance to George Town were are nice locations as shopping, food and restaurants, close to the monuments, hotel staff is very frienfly and helpfully, All in all a good stay October 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place to stay Nice place to stay and relax. Room was nice, clean and updated. Restaurant has a panoramic view of the Potomac and the food is good and reasonably priced. Hotel staff is great too. One of the nicest places I stayed at. October 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable and Convenient I have stayed at this location two previous times and contine to find it convenient, well priced, comfortable, and reliable. Staff is friendly and supportive. October 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Courteous Staff, good food, and clean bed Great hotel for the price. Very courteous staff. Checking in and out was a breeze. Pool was easily accessible. My son loved the pool and the breakfast levels (2nd floor and 17th floor respectively). Central location to get to Georgetown/Foggy Botom/GW. Easy to get a cab from the main road. I would have given it 4.5 to 5 stars but for: 1) The rooms (front side of the hotel) need to have upgraded sound proof sliding doors and windows. I was keep getting up throughout the night because of loud road noise that permeates thru the doors and windows. Sound-proofing the front rooms would definitely help 2) Parking is ample (and free) but little tight for guests with big cars/SUV’s. maybe a little re-arrangement of the spots (adding a foot—width wise--to each spot) would help. Specially to the lobby level parking spots I would definitely book again in this hotel next time I am in DC. October 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experience Overall We had a block of room reserved for a wedding in DC - and I cannot think of one thing that wasn't great. The staff at the front desk was way beyond friendly and helpful...the room was good sized and very comfortable...but, my favorite part was the restaurant on the 17th floor. We ate several meals up there and the staff was amazing and so friendly. I understand that some of them had been there for alot of years - alot! I have been places where alot of years equaled snobby treatment or indifferent treatment...not so with this staff...they made every meal a fun experience. Maybe we were all in such a happy mood it all rubbed off, but it was so pleasant. Also, there was no parking fee and the location was central. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a great value! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Return Guest My regular stop in DC. I have returned alone and referred guests. Handy to everything, including the Metro and Georgetown, and best of all, parking. Will continue to be a repeat guest. October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the money Room was awesome, what a view. Food was amazing. Staff was awesome. We will be back. October 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to get comfortable The room was ok. Great view, comfortable bed, but the AC just couldn't cool the room down enough. Finally, I had to open the balcony doors at night to get the room cool enough to sleep in. Also, the room was behind the elevators, so I had that noise to deal with. The water smelled and tasted musty. Very musty. The elevators didn't seem to work consistently, and the wait staff in the restaurant were pretty much just going through the motions. October 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Spot Great Spot, Metro Stop visible from hotel, CVS, Safeway market within walking distance. Sunoco, cheapest gas in D.C. near hotel. But most important FREE hotel parking, a rare commodity in D.C. Had a 2 double bed room with 4 people, a little tight, balcony provided some extra space. Sign up for rewards program, better rates and that person gets a free buffet breakfast, but still a value for rest of family at $6.95/person. Did notice a trace amount of mildew in corners of tub. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by "Security deposits," anyone? Has anyone else been charged a $25/night fee that doesn't show on the reservation confirmation or the bill beneath the door? Effectively, a security deposit. We noticed when we checked the credit-card bill. We've been told that it will be returned, but that should not have been charged OR it should have been made crystal-clear they were going to borrow 50 bucks for a few days. First time that has happened to us (we're adults, not damage-prone students on a class trip). I've shared my displeasure with the hotel desk, but management hasn't taken time to call to explain. Nice hotel, good staff, great location. But borrowing our money? Not smart. October 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and clean Quick check in. Called for room service and had great sevice each time. Pillows were awesome. Maid service was great. I just loved coming into a clean and tidy room. The walk to the metro was short and easy. The roof top restaurant had great views and great bartender that kept the drinks filled. Negatives...long wait for elevators, no free breakfast. Otherwise, in room coffee and bath supplies were up to par. Will be a repeat customer. October 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible View! My recent stay at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn was great. My room and the restaurant had incredible views. The staff was helpful and the room very comfortable. It was a block from the Metro station so the location was very convenient. Great Value! October 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Front Manager!!!! Got me into a room with a great view early Elevator needs to run quicker October 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Televisions You would think that with all of the money the corporation has spent on HD Televisions in each and every room, they would take the time to bring an HD signal to each and every room. All of the current cable companies have the HD signal and can easily provide that signal. There is nothing worse than watching an analog picture on an HD television. I have stayed in a hotel, recently, that has taken the time, energy and investment to convert their system to HD. It made all of the difference. My hope is that Holiday Inn could take the next step and leap into the 21st Century. October 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great Only thing I have to say is the bathrooms are small. And ice maker was not good.. Bed was good. Slept good. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Staff Staff always asking what they can do for you. Very pleasent people to do business with. October 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Real value for your money. Excellent restaurant. Room was perfect for sight seeing venue. Good location & parking available for car. Clean & comfortable. The restaurant, although busy, went out of their way on short notice to treat us to a great family dinner with good food and fantastic view. Staff was helpful & friendly. October 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect location for D.C. area stay Great location, close to Metro, easy access to D.C. attractions and sites. Many fast food locations around hotel area within walking distance. Free parking for your car if needed. Rooms clean and well appointed. Modern TV's with access to movies. Good breakfast buffet available for 1 guest with Priority Club membership. Front desk staff very friendly and accommodating. October 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor check-in service When I came to the desk to register, having reserved by room by phone earlier that evening, the clerk tried to give me a room that did not have the king bed that I had reserved, but, rather, one with some smaller bed. It took several repetitions of noting that my reservation was for a King Bed Executive Nonsmoking room, and my showing him the Holiday Inn e-mail I received for it, before he fulfilled it as made. This was an annoying waste of my (and, of course, his) time. October 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Choice for Touring DC We stayed six nights at the Holiday Inn Rossyln. The hotel is one block from the Metrorail making it easy to access all of the sights in and around DC. We had a beautiful view of the Potomac and Georgetown from our balcony. There were several fast food restaurants within 2 blocks and other restaurants within less than a mile. A Safeway and CVS were about 6 blocks away. We had breakfast in the restaurant, a buffet, which was good. The hotel was nicely priced for the weekend, the rates more than doubled for the weeknights. Supply and demand, you have to pay more when everyone wants to be in DC on business. The free parking was a very nice perk. The room was a decent size, the bathroom was very small. Everything was well maintained and in working order. Because of the convenient location, free parking, and easy access to public transportation, we would likely stay here again. October 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location at reasonable price. Hotel is just two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro and just across Key Bridge from Georgetown (shuttle to Georgetown runs every 10 minutes). One can leave the car in the hotel garage at no cost and get most everywhere by public transport. Good Recognition for IHG® Rewards Club Members - free breakfast + 50% off for additional guest. Received a very reasonable weekend rate for a room that had great view of Georgetown and the Potomac. Friendly and helpful staff. October 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Scary experience While staying at your hotel I had someone to call my room at 10:50pm on 9/25/2013 - I answered the phone and told the gentlemen that he had the wrong person/room; then 5-10 minutes later someone knocked on my door. Once again I told the individual that he had the wrong room. I immediately called the front desk and told them that a strange man had knocked on my door and they said that they were sending security to check it out. I did not sleep well that night at all. The next day I went to the front desk to inquire about someone knocking on my door - asking how did the individual know to come and knock on my door? I was told by the manager on duty - DB that he gave the person my room number because he was looking for somebody name close to my name so he thought it was me. I was surprise that the hotel would give out someone's room number - he could have been a stalker or wanted to kill me, etc. This should have never happened, I didn't feel safe and have informed my division chief and team on what happened.
