The property was under renovations but the staff did a great job in directing us as to the small changes regarding dinning and the bar. May 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by terrific accessibility traveling in my wheelchair is not always easy. especially in Asheville. NC. This stay was awesome! The rooms are spacious, the beds good and the roll-in showers are safe with sturdy above average shower benches. plenty of outlets to plug in. only drawback is no room service all day, no lunch served and short meal hours. also, the beds are almost too tall to get in if you're in a chair. i did however manage. everything else was great!! very pet friendly plus welcomed my service dog with opened arms. will be back for sure!!! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Follow up A friend and I were on the beginning of an almost 2 week road trip. Ashville was our second stop. The hotel was under renovations, but the front desk staff was very friendly and courteous even though their working conditions were not ideal. I called the next morning to get a refrigerator for some of our water and some perishables. It took some time to get and we had to leave before it arrived. Holly at the front desk said if I wrote a note on our items, they would be put in the refrigerator. When we returned to our room at the end of the day, the refrigerator was there but our food was right were we left it (with the note still on them). Because we were moving on to another destination, we never put any of our clothing and shoes in dressers or the closet. I had my shoes in a plastic grocery sack to prevent transferring dirt to my clothing. When I arrived at our next destination, I discovered my sack with my 2 pair of dress shoes were missing. My friend and I had done a check of the room before we left Ashville and there were no belongings noticeable. I called the hotel immediately to report this and was put through to housekeeping. The front desk explained that I'd have to leave a message as they were gone for the day. I left a message detailing what I was missing and asked to get a return call one way or the other and never received a call back. I called later the following day and got a recording and never had an option for housekeeping so I left a message for the assistance general manager detailing the same thing and the fact that I hadn't gotten a return call and still never received any feedback. To be fair, the bag could've been behind the refrigerator as I was not there when it was delivered. My suitcase was moved sideways in order to fit the fridge, so the bag could've fell from my suitcase when it was moved. I don't understand how they were not found when the room was cleaned. I know they were not left at the previous hotel as I was wearing one of the missing pair of shoes when I arrived in Asheville. I'm very disappointed that no one bothered to return my calls. I have had to try to replace these sandals and unfortunately had to spend over $150 in order to do so. One pair is the exact pair that I had, but I could not find the exact style for the other. Those were my favorite pair. I have had wonderful experiences with all the Holiday Inns that I have stayed at, but this experience has really soured me on this particular location. May 20, 2016
