On booking into the Hotel, I was not upgraded, or any mention from the staff, that I was a platinum member, I booked a double-non-smoking room--I was given 2 single beds and a room that was badly smelling of previous guests smoking!!
Manager did find me another room, after being I was asked twice-if I had touched anything in the first room??
I went into the Hotel Bar to order drinks and Starter and Dinner-----
Starter came after 30 minutes, then I sat there for another hour and half--waiting for my main course, it never came--So I went to reception to complain, my main meal arrived in my hotel room - 20 minutes later, Chicken was cold, and when I checked out the next morning--The Hotel charged me a extra £6,00 for Room Service !!
In which I had to pay!
The Duty Manager- did say just how sorry he was, and said he would add some points to my rewards-package, to hopefully compensate the whole experience.
Have a guess what?? He never Did !
Awful Experience, from possibly the worst hotel that I have ever stopped in.

I've stayed in a LOT of Holiday Inns, all around the world and this is well below average.
The rooms are a bit tired, the woman on the reception desk when we arrived treated our arrival as an inconvenience and I'm in no great rush to go back.
This is not terrible hotel, but there are plenty of better options.

i thought i was in east germany in 1970 - poor and desolate reception - a kind of cheap truck hotel . no smiles at all except by checking out -

We arrived quite late and the hotel was busy due to a wedding reception, but the staff were helpful and attentive and couldn't do enough for us.

Fabulous staff all a credit to this hotel.
Outstanding service from Jack on reception , Sarah for breakfast and Jorge on the bar.
We had been here for business for a few weeks and were made to feel part of the family. I would definitely return here.

We stayed in Executive room. It was nicely furnished and comfortable however the temperature of room did not seem to be adjustable from within the room and we would have liked it cooler than it was. It was not that far from the Eurostar station which is why we selected it and have stayed there before for this reason. Would stay again. However unless you are a IHG member you will need to pay for your internet use regardless of what your confirmation reads. In our case it said it was included but this was not honored. Fortunately we were IHG members so received it for free on that basis.

All I have stay at are good.
Ashford is above average.
And like always good breakfast.
