Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good staff and location. Expensive breakfast, cold room. OK the good things first. All the staff I encountered were helpful and courteous. Location is great and plenty of free parking. Not so good - my mistake was thinking this hotel was a HI Express, where breakfast is included - it isn't. Apparently this is standard for a non-Express HI. So I ate a very average, (lukewarm in many cases limited choice# buffet breakfast for 4 days thinking it was free. On checkout I was charged £14.95 per day. If I'd known this was the price I would have eaten breakfast elsewhere, as this one wasn't worth a fiver, never mind £15. I was in room 133. BRRRR. The heating thermostat did not reflect the room temperature. I set it to 21 Deg.C when I went to bed on the first night and woke up freezing cold. The room temperaure display #heating switched off) indicated that the room was a too-hot 28 Deg.C, actually it felt about zero degrees. If I jacked up the desired temp. to maximum at 32 deg.C it got a little bit warmer, but not much. The thin duvet didn't help either. To be fair, I forgot to mention the heating at checkout as I was still reeling from the price of breakfast! March 3, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not impressed I stay at a number of Holiday Inns each month and I was very very disppointed with the hotel. Room was very dated and the shower was even worst. You would get really cold water then really hot water. There was no acknowledgement either from the staff. Also ask for directions to the outlet centre and that wasn't the best of advice.I will not be staying here in the future. March 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Arrogant and Lazy Staff I am amazed a lovely hotel like Holiday Inn Ashford Central can have such a poor stay simply down to attitude of staff in a couple of areas, reception and bar staff both being lazy and not being bothered to do their job properly. It is a lovely hotel in itself and we always stay here, and I am pleased to say my last visit despite the above comments a very lovely and helpful chamber maid resolved an issue that reception could have easily avoided. And the restaurant/bar manager is the manager as he clearly knows his job unlike a member of his bar staff! Due to those two members of staff I will stay here again, although I would have appreciated a call from the hotel to say I had left behind some shampoo and conditioner instead of staff? simply throwing away (I think) as the claim is they don't know what happened to it? Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Usual Standard This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel and I have not been impressed either time. While the room was the usual drab decor it was warm and comfortable. Food was ok but service was terrible very slow service and an over friendly, jokey member of staff trying to play down the slow service. I was offered a free drink which I declined and the cost of my dessert was removed from the bill (which the company paid anyway). If you want to eat out locally then this is an ideal hotel when in the Ashford area. February 21, 2015

Difficult to keep an eye on an empty bar area when doing other jobs, BUT, it does help to find a quicker way of noticing someone has appeared there and is waiting. Staff were polite at all times.
