We stayed for one night while visiting Brands Hatch. There was a big event on, but we were given a room at the far end of a corridor, so heard nothing and slept well. Air conditioning didn't work, but fortunately not a hot night. 'Pub' across the way, run by Holiday Inn, was empty when we arrived, and just one customer as we left. Very basic selection of beer, rather like Holiday Inn Express. Food OK, but not sure if it was a pub or a restaurant type menu. Had the option of cooking my own mixed grill using hot stones, but felt this didn't fit with my pint of Fosters! Quite expensive too. Pleasant enough, but needs to decide which customers it is trying to appeal to.

We were only here one night for our passage to London. The hotel exudes calm, and the staff is very friendly and helpful!
The great room and the comfort of the beds was super. Breakfast and dinner (package) are well cared for and plenty of choice.
Quality price ratio is perfectly fine! We recommend this hotel to anyone in transit to northern England.

We asked for a quiet room, got a room above the entrance where people smoked and talked until the early morning......And the gym was the floor above us.......

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by christoff409 Can't believe a hotel can try and charge €10 for 24hr use of wifi in this day and age.
Everything about this hotel was good. There was a blip in the restaurant which meant we had to wait nearly an hour for our food, but the staff admitted it was their error and offered complimentary drinks.
The one area that puts me off staying here again is that they want to charge €10 for internet connection in the room - this is ridiculous in todays world where so many bars, restaurants and hotels offer this as a free service. for the business traveller this is a must have.

Room service options too short and location far from town but free parking, very friendly staff and very good quality - price ratio.
Classic english breakfast and good restaurant. Free wifi if you are elite member and free anyway in the hall.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights 5-7 October , we were impressed by George when we checked in who ensured that we had a very good room with two large single beds.
The room was well appointed and as with the whole of the hotel very clean.
All the staff that we came in contact with were very friendly and professional.
To name a few, John , Mary , Wendy to those we have not named well done and thank you.

We stayed here for a night whilst helping a local charity and was a nice place to stay. The only downside was the Satnav and the postcode as it took another hour to find the place. Lovely receptionist told us how to get there.
Food wise - being vegetarians and my friend vegan, the options were limiting but the staff helped cater for us.
Friendly and helpful catering staff.
A fridge in the rooom would be useful.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Scottslass Comfortable room, clean and good facilities
This was a clean and comfortable hotel that we chose for a night away to go and see some of the local area. The room we had was large, clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was excellent. The hotel was quiet (we did stay Sunday night) and has a choice of 2 restaurants, one inside the hotel which does have a set menu choice, and also a pub restaurant just across the carpark where you can charge items to your room for convenience.
We were located on the 2nd floor which was very quiet and also had an ice machine and a small gym area.
Breakfast the next day had a nice choice and a constant supply of hot, fresh food being bought out. The waiter doing coffee, tea did seem a bit overstretched but was very friendly, as were all the staff.
Overall it was a nice and comfortable hotel, and although I can only say for a Sunday night, it was a very quiet and peaceful break.

We stayed one night to visit the Kent coast. Easy to find next to A20 but some traffic noise if you opened the window. Huge room with 2 king size beds. Very clean and functional. Shame bathroom was so small though with 1500mm bath.
Unfortunately no wifi in room and when I enquired was told I would have to pay £10 but there was free wifi in lobby. It didn't work for me there.
Ate a good Continental breakfast for £6.95. Full English nearly £14 which seems a big difference .All help yourself including tea and coffee from flasks.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JayneEW Nice room, friendly staff but a few hiccups
The room was very nice but it had very odd lighting so the room was quite dark except in the 'hallway' between the door and the bathroom where it was very bright. Not too good if you are trying to do your makeup for a wedding!!
Not the hotel's fault but if you put in the postcode into your TomTom, it takes you to the M20 and because there is a long distance between exits, it took us 1.5 hrs to do a 15 min journey. When I called them in desperation, they told me it was a known problem....it would have been good to be told....
I asked for a wakeup call at 8.30 which did not arrive. Luckily (or maybe not...) the maid wasn't aware we hadn't checked out and came in at 8.45.... We got a call (at 9.15am) full of apologies which was nice but we weren't offered so much as a free drink in the food bar.....
Lastly, I was surprised to be asked for £10 charge to log into WiFi. I have stayed at smaller chains with cheaper prices who supplied this free.....it may be OK for business travellers who can claim this back as expenses, but not useful for private users.
It is exactly what you expect from a Holiday Inn, clean, tidy, comfortable but a few niggles too many for me to use it again.....

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Suedwaerts Second visit - more to follow
This is the second time we have used this hotel as a base for a visit to Kent. It offers everything you need for a decent stay and the price/quality is excellent. Staff are helpful, the food in the restaurant is fine, breakfast in particular is very good, the rooms are large (we're a family of two adults and two children#, the shower unit was powerful and hot and we were not disturbed by any noises during our stay.
As we travel from the continent #by car), it's well located being a short journey from either Dover or Folkestone and is centrally located in Kent for day trips. I would only suggest to pay attention to the warnings about your navigation system finding the hotel. However if it goes pear shaped - don't forget that it's not the Hotel which is at fault.....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by moriarty Nice break
We had a nice 4 night stay after moving from our first room. The first room that we had (number 140) was directly below the mini-gym, there was a certain ammount of noise from the treadmill and rowing machine in the evening and at 6.15 in the morning. We requested a change of room which was arranged.
I suggest that the mini-gym is moved to the ground level or that room 140 is not used as a bedroom.

The room was clean and well equipped with an excellent shower. Breakfast was ample and ready on the dot of 7.30 (we had a boat to catch so this was important). The hotel is ideal for traveling to France on either boat or train. You feel that your loaded car is safe as the hotel is situated out in the country with a large car park. There is a good pub just a few minutes walk along the road.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Garmintom Ashford's Hideaway Hotel
Unfortunately I booked while en route, receiving the hotel's emailed confirmation after my arrival. Only here was their warning about using route planners. My Scandinavian car is less than a year old and the built in route planner had just been updated. I travelled along the M20 in a South-Easterly direction. At the Ashford turn-off, I was directed to turn off the round-about back onto the M20. This time in a North-Westerly direction. The next turn-off is fifteen miles away. But half-way to Maidstone, I was told I had reached my destination!
Back in Ashford, (yes that's now thirty miles) I ended up visiting another Holiday Inn. Here, the reception had a ready-made printed route description and told me that everyone had this problem who used the market's leading planners which I don't!
Armed with this new information I set off back towards Maidstone. About a half a mile before reaching the hotel, I was again told that I had reached my destination - luckily the first place I could turn was at the petrol station next door to the hotel.
There was little sympathy from the hotel receptionist but plenty from other guests in the hotel with similar experiences.
This is an old problem which is known and recognised by Holiday Inn. For some reason they don't seem to take it seriously: I drove, at least, an extra forty miles unnecessarily and I was not alone.

We frequently take the shuttle to France, and usually stay overnight before catching an early train, but we have never used this hotel before, in future it will be our first choice. In fact we think we may go for a few days next time and explore the surrounding area. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff were all helpful and friendly, it is set in a quiet situation, but to avoid road noise ask for a room at the front overlooking the car park. Breakfast was very good, and we got an excellent B &B deal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JWandE A comfortable place to stay
This was our third stay at Holiday Inn, Ashford North. Previously we had just 2 overnight transit stops, but this time we stayed for 5 nights on a Dinner Bed & Breakfast basis.
All the staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful and gave a great service.
The Buffet Breakfast had a plentiful supply of tasty hot and cold dishes.
The evening meal menu gave plenty to choose from and the menu changed each evening.
The bed was great and the room clean and comfortable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Businessguymedical Vibrating room!
Due to its location on the side and below of m20 unfortunately I got no sleep, the room vibrated so much....sounds fun but not when you got a long day ahead, lamps on bedside tables literally vibrated around all night. Avoid room 207 or any near it. also it might be a mini gym but you could call it a gym museum the gear is so old and decrepit.

We use this hotel when we need to stop over before a holiday in France. Its great value for money. The hotel is a little tired but the rooms are comfortable and clean the service is excellent and the food is good. You can park your car and include this in your booking very helpful if you are being picked up by coach.

My family and I have travelled all over the world staying in Holiday inn's crown plaza's and holiday inn express and have to say that this
hotel is by far the best we have ever stayed in.
The family room was a very good size really clean this may be a small thing to most but we always find that booking a family room normally there are only two cups in the room not enough towels so you have to contact the front desk to get more sent to the room, not this time though enough cups, tea coffee and milks to do.
Now the staff
Well they we all very polite clean tidy know there job and gave the very best service.
In all the best Holiday inn we have ever stayed in well done and thank you keep up the good work

Hotel very good but was a bit disappointed that we
Could not use the dining room on the night we
Arrived as they were. Expecting three bus parties
E were told the pub across the car park was serving
A carvery but only until five o'clock and we arrived
At 3.30 and then only bar snacks after that
We have stayed here before and really enjoyed
our time there so was disappointed this time
We were also told that if we were having breakfast
we would have to wait until after eight o'clock
as the bus parties were being served earlier
I know that bus parties are a big part of your
trade but surely you should also try and consider
Individuals as they are also trade for you all year

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hesk Good location, with attached pub
This hotel was very nice indeed, like the Holiday Inn Expresses, but that little bit more upmarket. Very comfortable rooms and lounge. The added bonus was the pub in the same grounds that did a very good range of food, if you did not want a full blown meal in the hotel restaurant . Highly recommended.
