I had been doing research in Glacier National Park for 30 days and was traveling home. I decided on the Austin Holiday Inn and was truly happy with all aspects of my stay. Mollie and Jordan were working the front desk when I came in after 15 hrs on the road. They took care of everything I needed and helped me with all aspects of my stay.

A daily Mpls Star Tribune would be a good improvement. Electrical outlets are a problem in every hotel. Many times I would like to charge my cell phone overnight, within reach. Complimentary morning coffee would be much appreciated.
How about a complimentary can of Spam in every room, just kidding but a thought.

When I checked in on 5 August I was surprised that the night manager, not the desk clerk told me that she does not up grade platinum elite, and IHG rewards club, and IHG credit card holder, if they are not regulars. She would not up grade me to a better room. I was surprised. but being there for my mothers funeral, I did not have time to go over it. I had reservations for two nights, sent through Holiday Inn reservations. When I went out the next morning to my car and came back, my room had been canceled. I went to the front desk and they had overlooked the fact that I had been booked for two nights. The general manager was there and apologized for the mix-up. I can not understand why the night manager will not upgrade platinum elate guests because they are not regulars, never had this happen ever from any HI property. Aside from that the room was very clean and comfortable the staff were very good and I was disappointed with the night manager. .

I made reservations for two nights to attend my mothers funeral . I made the reservations through HI,.I am a platinum member and carry the HI credit card. when I checked in I asked id I could be upgraded to a platinum member room, the night manager said that she only upgrades her regular customers, and therefore she would not do it. Ok so she has an attitude and because I stay there when we would come up to visit my mother every year, so I was not a regular. Well I was tired and two full days of things that had to be done. The next morning I went out to the car and tried to get back into the room, locked out. They had overlooked the fact that I was staying two days, oh sorry just a glitch, The general manager was at the desk and apologized for everything. Question how can a night manager tell a platinum guest that he is not entitled to an upgrade because he is not a regular at her Holiday Inn, sure needs to take Holiday Inn 001 training or do something else. Never in the years staying at Holiday Inns have I ever had such a bad experience, on top of the funeral I had to attend.

Bistro does me no good. I get up, have my coffee while I'm doing my emails and personal messages.
I'm not going to get dressed and go to the "bistro"
You have forgotten your business travelers.
As I said, I carry my own coffee makers as yours are inadequate.
That also has a deciding factor at times over my hotel preference.
