Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Nice hotel with awful service I booked 4 rooms at this hotel for 2 nights, traveling with a group of high school journalists and my own family. Upon arrival, we were told that all rooms were dirty and had to wait 30 minutes in a busy lobby before being allowed to check in to rooms on different floors. Hotel was nice and clean, as expected but there were dozens of drunken guests on each floor after 9 pm both nights - loud, boisterous guests - not a place for children. On night 2, they had booked an event which took all the parking spaces - not only did they not have an alternate solution, but the night desk clerk cussed loudly at me and was extremely rude when I asked what our options were. Coffee bar staff refused to make change for a $20 so I could tip their breakfast waiter. We were met with rudeness from almost every staff member. Hotel would have been great if it weren't for the staff and the loud drunken guests who partied all night, and ended up setting off the fire alarms at 5 am. Would never stay here again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by surprisingly good stay! I'm used to staying in fancier/more expensive hotels either because that's where the convention I'm attending is, or with my family. It sounds snotty to say, but I really wasn't expecting to be impressed. And then this Holiday Inn completely blew me out of the water with the service received and the cuisine and accommodations. :) My bartender/server both nights at the hotel bar was particularly fun and I was very impressed with the food available and the overall size and comfort of the room. I slept amazingly well. There was a bit of an issue with the internet and getting my computer connected to it that was a hassle, possibly because I was on a Mac, but that's a minor blip, in my opinion-- worth mentioning, but not worth downrating for.
