The front desk staff was great; but the hotel was under major construction from 8-8 daily. It didn't make for a very good weekend.

The hotel was under reconstruction, but no one at the hotel knew that until they checked in.
Then, they didn't have a double room like I had booked.
So two of us on business were left with a king.
Then they gave us a key to the wrong room and temporarily invaded another guest's privacy.
Then we had to get a roll away, which was placed in the room upright, leaving us to rearrange the furniture and set it up.. etc..
Then they literally moved the front desk without forewarning.
Then, we tried to get a duplicate key, and they couldn't get the machine to work.
And none of the restaurant, bar, etc... were open so we had to get a taxi somewhere else for meetings or otherwise grab a drink or some food. Would have been nice if someone had told us when we booked the hotel.

I was most impressed with the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. I was very sick during my stay there. The front desk and the housekeeping staff were very empathetic to my needs.

When booking with a hotel, the management should have details like "major hotel renovation" and "construction noise begins at 8 am and ends at 6 pm" cited online. Guests should have this information when deciding to book.

We would stay there again, but hotel was under renovations that made it difficult to access the restaurant.

So disappointed that this will no longer be under Holiday Inn ownership. It is so convenient to our Austin relatives. Person in charge whether manager or construction foreman was so helpful, as we had trouble with our keys. He took us by golf cart to breakfast and back...went out of his way tomake us welcome.

first let me say that your staff despite the problems with your hotel are very gracious and could not have been more polite and helpful. your problems in running your place should not reflect poorly on them. they are your issues, not your staffs. i almost feel sorry for them. so let me begin. WHAT MAJOR HOTEL CHAIN DOES NOT PROVIDE THE BASICS IN ROOM. MOUTHWASH? CUPS? THE HAIRDRYER IS NOT EVEN CONNECTED YOU HAD TO FIND IT UNDER THE SINK IN A BAG. NOT EVEN DIRECT WIRED, COFFEE ? AT LEAST 2 CHAIRS IN THE ROOM SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE SIT ON YOUR BED? AND ROOM SERVICE, AND EAT IT WHERE? YOU HAVE NO TABLE IN THE ROOM. I AM JUST ABOUT READY TO SAY NO MORE TO IHG. THE WORST THING THAT HAPPENED, WAS THAT YOU HAVE NO AIR IN ANY SPACE OTHER THAN THE MAIN BED AREA, WHAT ABOUT THE BATHROOM? ,YOU CAN'T EVEN REGULATE THE HEAT OR AIR? WHAT MODERN HOTEL DOES NOT ALLOW FOR THAT? YOU HAVE TO START TO SWEAT BEFORE THE AIR GOES BACK ON. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AT 8:45 ON THE DAY I WAS TO CHECK OUT SAYING THAT THE WATER WAS BEING TURNED OFF IN 15 MINUTES. DO YOU THINK THAT IS ENOUGH NOTICE TO GIVE A GUEST? NO REFRIGERATOR IN ROOM. I ASKED FOR A ROOM ON 2ND FLOOR AND NOT ON THE TOP FLOOR, ABSOLUTELY NOT ON THE TOP FLOOR, GUESS WHERE I ENDED UP? I ASKED FOR A ROOM NEAREST THE ELEVATOR AND ENDED UP ALMOST AT THE END OF THE HALL. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE AUTOMATIC DOORS WHEN YOU ENTER? I STRUGGLED WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE DOORS AND MY BAGS. RIDICULOUS SITUATION, YOU HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO TO BE ABLE TO CALL YOURSELF A MODERN AND UP TO DATE FACILITY. ALMOST LIKE A PLACE I STAYED AT IN THE 60'S, NO KIDDING.

Upon arrival, I was not greeted as a Platinum member and not offered complimentary beverage or snack. Restaurant/bar were difficult to access due to construction. Difficult to sleep in the morning due to construction. No server for in-room movies one night. No room service on day. Check out invoice was incorrect.
