Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Decent Hotel, Great Staff Stayed here for 5 days on Business. Overall it's a decent hotel. The staff really make the stay a positive experience. I did have a few issues, but the staff were great about helping resolve them. Additionally, Troy - the Bartender - deserves special mention. Great Service! You definitely want to call ahead and ask for the South Tower. Friends who stayed in the other building were not as impressed as I was. The rooms were a bit dated and furniture was dingy, but I believe they will be renovated soon. Some issues I had: greatly diminished water pressure in the morning, washcloths not provided on one day, room not ready at 5pm for check in, and a 45 minute wait for food during lunch at the restaurant. The view of Austin Town Lake from our 8th floor window was awesome.The shuttle service was great saved us on calling a taxi cab. Keep up the good work and hope to see you soon. July 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One Night Stay Stay was great and inexpensive. Rooms had everything anyone could need for one night or a multiple night trip. Just a $10 cab ride to down town which is no problem when compared to the $150+ saved by not staying just a mile or two further north. Have a great night sleep in nice, comfortable and cool rooms, then wake up to hit the new boardwalk addition to the townlake hike and bike trail just a short walk away. The hotel is an old hotel, that if were renovated a little more would be a excellent place to stay. Our room was in the front towers which faced the expressway. It was very noisy and caused three sleepless night. The beds were comfortable, but the expressway noise was quit loud. The bathroom area was divided into two areas with no way to turn the lights off during the middle of night without disturbing your partner. On the whole the room was large, clean, and mostly comfortable. All the staff was great, friendly and efficient. Would stay again. July 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Power-less and Power-full The night that I spent was a different experience for me. The front desk staff was absolutely exceptional! Not only did they engage in conversation, they listened, they made recommendations, and they showed a great deal of excitement to hear about my experiences after returning from a night out on the City. They truly went out of their way to make it a great stay...in spite of an unfortunate circumstance. After returning from a live recording of a concert at Austin City Limits, I discovered that the power was out in the hotel on a 90+ degree night. Working in the electrical industry, I quickly realized that this was no fault of the Holiday Inn. A component from the utility feed to the hotel failed and was difficult for the power company to diagnose, since this is not a common thing to have happen. Knowing that this was an inconvenience to its guests, the restaurant bar provided free drinks to the guests while the issue was being resolved and they also provided a free breakfast buffet to all of the guests. The room was a little outdated and the sink did not have the best hot water pressure, however the staff made this hotel experience a fantastic one. I have never experienced better service from a hotel staff in my life! June 27, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value but bring earplugs! For the proximity to downtown you can't beat the price! Free parking is nice too! The breakfast buffet was decent for 11.99. The only problem I had with this hotel was its proximity to the freeway. My room faced IH-35 and it was very noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper you will need earplugs. All and all I would stay again if my usual hotel is booked up, as it was for X-Games. June 12, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but could easily be better Staff was kind, but many of them seemed to be new or something - not terribly helpful. Check-in was delayed by a couple hours because the rooms weren't ready (i find this to be terribly unprofessional). I noticed this to be the case for a number of other people throughout the week I was there. One room had a water leak in the light fixture in the bathroom. It was fixed quickly, but seems like a pretty serious issue (water + electricity = bad news). Labels to pool area were severely lacking, so simple to fix, i don't get it. These are mostly just annoyances, but worth considering. Everything else satisfactory or better, so overall the experience was good and I'd recommend it to others, so long as they are aware of these issues. June 10, 2014

Room was very comfortable with a great view of the Lake below. The hotel shuttle took us to and from the Bridge with no trouble. The staff were professional and very friendly. Carpets in the South Tower do need to be updated, but other than that a very nice experience. June 9, 2014
