Myself, my mum and two children stayed at the hotel for one night as we traveled from exeter to attend my husbands graduation day from raf halton, we arrived looking rather rather worn out due to the long distance train journey to be welcomed and also to our surprise congratulated as we were randomly picked as the hotels guests of the day, we had various luxuries in our room as well as a free bottle of wine, free wifi and a free movie! All hotel staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us, evening meal was lovely even if i sensed the staff may have been a little snowed under?..(we are only human!) my husband was only allowed off base for two hours, and his meal didn't quite get to the table on time (no it didn't take two hours, we didn't go to the restaurant straight away) the staff were very helpful and bagged his meal up for him, threw in a few extras AND knocked the price of his meal off our final bill! The room was extremely clean and soooooo comfortable, it was an absolute pleasure to come and stay! Thank you to all the staff :D March 5, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing Stay Very impressed with the hotel. Received an upgrade on the room and girl at main desk was lovely! room was nice and clean and bed very comfortable. Only issue with the room was a bed side lamp wasn't working which isn't a major issue, but other than that it was a very relaxing stay. Food was average, over priced if I'm to be totally honest, although service is excellent and staff are very friendly. Would stay again but would probably travel to the town centre for dinner. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable stay I stayed for 4 nights on business. The service was fine and all the staff were helpful and polite, particularly the bar staff. Food a little repetitive after 4 nights as I'm a vegetarian. Breakfast rather limited as a veggie. However all was well cooked. Room comfortable but a little stuffy. I used the gym once as it was far too warm in there. Good range of equipment for a small gym though. One criticism, which everyone makes - internet costs. Considering the Holiday Inn Express is free it's outrageously overpriced if you're staying more than a night. February 9, 2014

The helpful staff members provide good service and are always friendly and welcoming. We find the bed slightly hard but we do sleep well. Glad that wifi is now available in the room January 6, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Disabled Facilities I phoned to ensure that the room we had book could provided a walk in shower for my disabled wife, to be assured by the hotel staff that was the case. On booking in I again asked the reception staff that the room we had reserved did have a walk in shower, to be told not only did the room have no walk in shower but was informed that this was a facility that no Holiday Inn had. Pity that we were not able to visit the Leisure club as it had limited hours over Christmas but everyone deserves time off at Christmas. Thanks a lot especilly to our room attendant who has very understanding of our teenage sons need to sleep!! December 30, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Check there s no function on! On arrival it was obvious there was a "works do' in progress that took over the restaurant and subsequently the bar area as well. Food still available in bar but not restaurant as advertised.Very noisy and constant stream of partygoers going through slow shutting doors to garden to smoke made it very cold. not at all pleasant. Like sitting on a railway station. Room very good at first site but heating uncontrollable pumping out dry dry hot air regardless. Mentioned to reception who said they would check but they didm t mention it further and was still doing its own thing later. Switched it off completely. Probably mistake as we then found duvet was only a couple of inches larger than bed and so spent a very cold night. Check out was a long line with one girl on duty. Mentioned heating and she said would take some money off bill. Didn' t say how much and played with paperwork for considerable time. Eventually i managed to work out from bill that it was £6. Might have been okay apart from the very unprofessional way of dealing with it which completely negated any goodwill. If a hotel does not have the size or layout to cater for functions without totally destroying the facilities for other paying guests, then possibly they should warn such guests when this kind of thing is going on prior to booking. Made this booking to avoid early start and get nights rest.Total waste of time and money. December 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay Hotel was easy to find in a good location. Bedroom and bathroom very spacious. The bed was massive and was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Rooms were little out dated compared to some of the other holiday inns, however the restaurant and bar facilities were modern. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent lots of choice. Didn't used the leisure facilities. Will definitely be staying here again. December 4, 2013

I have to say one in four meals had to be returned; would have been more but it was getting embarrassing. As the stay was on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast Rate there was no compensation given. The electricity in the room failed on more than eight separate occasions; resulting in calls to reception and the 'breaker' havingto be reset. No notification on one occassion that the restaurant was closed and a temporary alternative had been set up; so we eat out. Complained to management and it was implied that we were liars and had got things wrong; eventually told if we did not like it check out - We Did! Have sent an e-mail to the hotel requesting information from them still no reply. This is how they treat Platinum Members! There are alternative hotels close by..... December 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A happy two night stay My wife and I stayed for two nights with other members of the family to celebrate our son and daughter- in- laws wedding anniversary. The welcome we received at the check in desk was very good and our room on the ground floor was excellent. The celebration was in one of their rooms and the tables set up for the party. The food and the service was excellent and all who were there thoroughly enjoyed the evening. On both of the mornings we had breakfast there was a great variety to choose from and we were well satisfied. Well Done Holiday Hotel. November 16, 2013

Stayed for 1 night only after dropping our son off at RAF Halton, quick and easy check in, staff friendly and helpful, room spacious and clean as well as the usual tea and coffee you get a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling water plus 2 kit kat chunky bars free. Beds nice and comfy. Breakfast was top quality, will stay here again and would recommend this hotel. November 8, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Leisure stay Second stay in this hotel. We stayed in the suite again which is lovely and spacious. The check in staff on reception could do with further training on concessions for priority club members as I found myself having to advise them of this. The check in was slightly hit and miss but soon resolved once I wrote down my name for the receptionist; she finally found my reservation. Unfortunately the food in the restaurant was not that great. We ordered the sea bass and steak. The sea bass was dry and my husband had to send his steak back 3 times! The staff in the health club were second to none really helpful and accommodating, as was the staff in the bar and restaurant; so thank you health club and restaurant staff. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay again. November 6, 2013

It makes all the difference to a stay at a hotel. Probably the most welcoming Holiday inn I have stayed at. Nice touches like the welcoming cart when entering the front door after a hard days work with sample food and drink. Nice touch. Rooms very clean and tidy and breakfast was well up to the standard I now expect from a Holiday Inn. Recommend. Yes the swimming pool water temperature was too cold and I would say that the pool needs a makeover. But once again the leisure staff were friendly and welcoming. October 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Reception After a 2 hour drive I entered the hotel only to find a plaque on the counter saying Congratulations and I was "Guest of the Day". Quickly the staff welcomed me and explained what that meant. The room upgrade, free drinks, WiFi and video were appreciated but also the evident enthusiasm of the staff! It made me feel really good and appreciated in a genuine way by the Holiday Inn team. Thanks a lot and I'll certainly be back! October 20, 2013
